Birds chirped, squirrels played through the trees. A deer wandered out of the forest to sniff at a berry bush, it leaned in to take a bite when there was a flash. The sky lit up like an atomic bomb had been dropped causing the birds and squirrels to fall silent and the rest the deer's herd make a run for it. The deer at the berry bush started to run when it disappeared. A huge boom followed the Light; sending the birds into a frenzy of warning calls. A wavy outline of a school appeared where the deer had been standing. The line continued to solidify until it was a solid entity. Life forms began to stir inside the school.
Further into the forest, the fleeing deer passed the small stream that they drank from; startiling a flock of geese. The birds flew off further into the forest, they passed a cave with several deer carcasses in front. Strange claw marks were scored into the stone on either side of the cave. The geese continued on passing several more small caves. As they passed a particularly large tree, something shot out and snagged one of the birds. Drawing it back into the shadows, the creature tore into the goose. Finishing it's meal the creature tossed the geese's feet out of it's tree. The feet fell knocking into a small nest of some kind enraging a swarm of wasps. Yet seeing no identifiable threat, most of the wasps returned to the hive. With the exception of one, this wasp's time had run out. It fell dead to the forest floor. Right before it hit the ground, a small plant opened it's mouth and ate it. Spitting out the husk to decay into the earth, the plant shrank back into the shadow of it's larger parent.

Boris groaned as he came to, "The hell just happened, Coach?" Boris opened his eyes and waited for them to adjust. He looked around, trying to see through the darkness. "Coach," he asked; not seeing him anywhere. He had a huge headache for some reason and he wondered if the coach had struck him. Their argument was getting pretty heated after all. Boris got up and headed to the faint light of the window. Tossing it open, he almost fell out from shock. "What in the hell is going on," he asked in an awed voice, closing and rubbing his eyes. Opening them again he saw that, Yes, the landscape was still the same as a few seconds before.
He ran into the hallway shouting, "Coach! Coach! Yo Jace, Luke where chu guys at?" Tripping over a bag of some kind in the dark, Boris pulled out his phone so he could see. "Guys you gotta check this out. Either I'm loopin or some crazy stuff's going on. Guys!"
