It is now February 17th, 2010. The Infection has run rampant across large areas of the United States of America, if not the whole country. Staggering numbers of people are dead, either torn apart by the relentless horde of infected. Those who weren’t slaughtered in the initial outbreak either become infected themselves or nomadic survivors, forced to keep on the move in order to stay alive. The horde is seemingly unending and somehow they always manage to find you. To make matters worse the virus continues to mutate and evolve, resulting in the appearance of hideous new mutations such as the Spitter and the Charger, nicknamed such by survivors. Life is becoming increasingly difficult for those who have somehow managed to stay alive, you are hunting night and day. No one is coming to save you, they’re likely all dead anyway. There seems to be no hope, nothing but the inevitable march of the infection and a endless cycle of struggling to stay alive. But at the darkest moment there came a glimmer of hope for scribbled on safe-room walls is the rumour of what so many can only hope for, a cure to end all this.
There is just one problem, no one knows where such a cure would be held. Every military outpost and CEDA evacuation centre you come across has been overrun, only the silent corpses of your fallen rescuers remain, oh and the restless horde. Fairfield has been overrun, as has Riverside, Newburg, New Orleans, even the once great city of New York is now nothing but a desolate wasteland of death, infected swarming it’s streets. But on the few working radios you come across can be heard garbled military reports and transmissions, at least part of the military is still alive out there. But the question is, will you be able to make it to them? And will they be alive when you get there? The Civil Emergency and Defence Agency, otherwise known as CEDA, failed to stop the spread of the infection. Now it is up to you to do your best to survive and find the cure. Will you make it or will the world be consumed by the seemingly unstoppable infection? Stay together, fight and keep on the move, for now that is all you can do. Oh, and don’t upset the witch!
