Miseta and Kafi
When the first genetically advanced humans had shown up the world had panicked. Then other things started coming into the light. Vampires, werewolves, and many other mystical beings came out of hiding and announced their existence. Mistrust and fear governed every mind. However as they continued to grow and more were revealed every day the world soon realized that there would be no stopping it. Several plans were put into effect, but none of them lasted very long and the backlash of several of them caused part of Huston to be blow away. But now they hoped to be past that. They hoped that this solution would last and help sooth rattled nerves. All youth of every race that were seen to possess a 'gift' were invited to attend the Wyoming School for the Gifted. Placed in the middle of nowhere the founders hoped that there would be little chance for a repeat of Huston. Although it was only an invitation, everyone knew there wasn't much choice.
The school truly was in the middle of nowhere. Mountains to the north, and endless plains to the south with a whole lot of nothing to the east and west for about a hundred miles. It had once been owned by ranchers and so there was no worry that the neighbors might complain. When they'd bought the place a sturdy cement and brick mansion was put up. Metal linings in the walls and fireproof insulation were only a few of the many precautions they'd taken when building the place. For many of the children and teens control was something they'd come here to learn and so every consideration had been taken to insure that repairs wouldn't need to be made very often. From what they'd seen so far it was money well spent.
It was twelve o clock on a Monday, and most of the students were enjoying their lunch break for the day before the next run of classes got going. Since there were people of all ages attending the school the administrators had decided that for those who would still be in high school or middle school regular classes would be taken before lunch. For those that had already graduated they had time to study and earn college credit through online courses. Then after lunch gifted classes would begin, giving them a chance to practice and explore to see what they could really do and to (hopefully) gain better control of their gifts.
Ezra was enjoy his lunch period walking around the grounds of the school alone. He'd soon be back in a room surrounded by speaking and thoughts and wanted to savor the few minutes of quiet he got a day. With the majority of the other students eating inside he could put enough distance between them and himself that he couldn't pick up much with his telepathy. Stopping along side the fishpond to the west of the school he took in a deep breathe, enjoying the warmth of the day. He knew that in a few more short months it would be miserably cold again so he took advantage of days like this. The young man brushed his bangs out of his eyes while thinking to himself that he would need a haircut soon. He'd been avoiding it for a while since it would remove the last bit of black he still had at the tips of his hair. When his gift had shown up his hair had started growing out a navy blue color. It was silly since it was just hair, but he was sad to see it go. It was like the last of his old life before this insanity had taken over would be gone.
Pupil-less blue eyes considered the water. He thought about his time here at the school so far. It was vastly different from his life before then. Through high school he'd always been at the center of things. He loved socializing and being with other people. He made friends easily and had few fights since he knew how to keep a cool head. However that had changed when he got his gift. He'd learned quickly to keep his mouth shut about it. People didn't exactly like the idea of having no privacy from him. When he'd come here he'd become more introverted and a bit of a loner. It was easier than seeing people avoid talking to him or suffering from the headaches of being around too large of a group. The young man played with the frayed edge of the green scarf wrapped around his neck and waited for the bell to announce the next class.

Kaila had just arrived in the new school, she hadn’t known about it until a hunter had tried to kill her for ‘pretending to be human’ so she was now stuck in the middle of nowhere, a human choice she assumed they were too afraid of an overruling, weak minded individuals. She was calmly sitting on a stone bench in the shadows, direct sunlight was painful she looked at the ring set with lapis lazuli the thing that generally kept the sun from harming her, she hoped it would go back to the common colder cloud covered weather soon. She noticed a few people look over at her due to her bright pink hair it had been fashionable to have bright hair when she had found a single dye that worked over the vampire structure but that dye had long since gone and much as she’d tried to dye it to back to its original color of chestnut brown it just didn’t stick at all or left her with odd patches of color.
The bell soon rang announcing the first class she would attend as a new student, she walked in the direction of the class closely following the map she had looked over earlier before coming and entering the class, it was quite small with about only 10 students so she quickly memorised all the faces as she stood at the front waiting to be introduced to the class. The teacher came into the room and looked at Kaila with distaste at both the short skirt she was wearing and the color of her hair she was obviously a traditionalist she said as she gave a similar look accompanied with a smirk the skirt suit that she wore was a disgusting almost puke green ‘Class this is Kaila, she’s a new student and I want you to make her feel welcome’ she said before Erza walked in through the door, the last one to get to class ‘how nice of you to join us, well then you can be the one to show Kaila round the school and help her settle in, take a seat’ she said with a cold voice. Kaila took the seat furthest from the window closer to the back, as she looked at Erza she wondered what he was and if he was strong, well she would soon find out.
(hope you dont mind me controlling you character for a second, but it was the only way i could think of that she would put a guy and a girl together to show around)

Ezra winced a little as the teacher started berating him but the punishment wasn't so bad. Simply nodding in answer Ezra looked the girl over curiously. He watched the girl sit down and soon followed her to sit at the same table in the back. Once he was sat the teacher started the lesson. As she droned on about the historical significance of the first witch hunts Ezra breifly wondered how she managed to make such an interesting topic so boring.
Tuning it out slightly he got out a note pad and pen and started pretending to take notes. But once the teacher was focused on her lecture he knew they could have a silent party and she wouldn't notice it. After a moment of writing he pushed the pad towards Kaila with the pen. Written at the top it said, 'Hey. My name's Ezra. Welcome to Wyoming.' He sat back and pretended to pay attention to the class while watching her out of the corner of his eyes. He though her hair was interesting sure, but it was dyed and at the end of the day he couldn't really say much since his own hair was blue.
(That's fine I don't mind a little of that when necessary.)

She was watching the board, trying to remember the facts while taking very few notes, she had learnt it in the past when she had attended a different school needless to say the topics were very odd for a human school, and trying to remember if there had been witch hunts when she was little although she didn’t think so they were back in the 1750’s she looked over at Ezra before noticing him pass her a note. ‘ Hello, sorry you got stuck with me…you’ve got interesting blue hair’ she wrote in her cursive scribble, she hoped he could read the old fashioned writing, she folded the paper up a few times and passed it back.
She looked back up at the teacher who had continued on with her lecture and was now talking about more specific details like how they decided on people being witches, they had disgusting methods and she grimaced although the way she had treated some of her ‘food’ back when she had just been turned and before vampires had come out of hiding hadn’t been that nice either, she kind of missed the feeling rather than the synthetic stuff they now offered.
(sorry i was really busy this weekend)

He took the note back and his eyebrows rose at the elegant handwriting. He smiled over at her and ran a hand through his hair before writing, 'Thanks, it's natural. Also don't worry I can read it just fine. You've got some very neat handwriting.Mine looks like crap compared to it.' Before passing it back he watched her think for a moment then hurriedly scratched out a few more things.
'So a vampire huh? Interesting. You know I think you're the first one to come to this school so far Kaila.' He passed it over again then sat back in his chair with a silent sigh. He reached up and pinched the bridge of his nose as the dull ache in his head started to grow. He really hated being in the classes like this, he always managed to leave with a headache.
(Me to, I don't usually reply much on the weekends.)

She was startled by the bell which rang soon after as she had been distracted by all the note passing she took out her timetable to check the next subject and thankfully it was a physical one she didn’t think she could stand another hour of lectures she would soon see the capabilities of Ezra and the rest of the class although she didn't have high expectations since they were quite young. ‘Well I would of never come if it hadn't been for someone trying to kill me useless over powered humans I tell you, and nothing we can do about it’ she said once they had left the classroom she has issues with the current rules and it clearly showed through her expressions of disgust and talk.
The next class was a basic physical power test to gage the power level of each student at the beginning of each new school year and was ranked using new technology on a scale of 1-50 and was then split into 5 levels. Kaila had heard of the machines being used in other places as well to gage the security necessary to detain non-human criminals. ‘I’m sure all of you know that today’s lesson will just consist of me sorting you into rank order and seeing if any of you are the next superior. Let’s begin with you’ he said pointing towards a skinny kid in the back who looked barely capable of even hurting a fly, he took out a machine pointing it at the boy as he walked up to him the machine made a small beeping sound and then he said patting him on the back ‘as expected a 12, an improvement from last year’s 8’. This continued much the same with him making comments on each student he then called up Ezra to be monitored, before shouting ‘don’t worry vampire I’ll do you last’ it was directed at Kaila and she was annoyed that he hadn’t even bothered to call her name.

Ezra sighed and gathered together his things before walking with her to the next class. This was going to be pretty boring since they needed to test everyone. He knew why they really did it. They wanted to make sure they knew who were the truely powerful ones in the school so they could keep an eye on them. /Well on the upside,/ he replied smiling over at her, /it's far less likely anyone will try to kill you in here. Hopefully by the time we 'graduate' people will have calmed down and gotten over their fear./
As they stood waiting for their turn to be tested he adjusted his scarp which had slipped down a bit during class. The old green scarf was pretty torn and beaten up. As he walked over to be tested himself he patted her on the shoulder, /Ignore it./ He stood in front of the teacher with his hands in his pockets waiting. He didn't have to wait long, the machine barely started warming up when it got the reading. Ezra was curious to see hwat it was, he'd never been tested before since he came in the middle of the year. The teacher frowned and hit the machine to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. "...well. Very nice 45." The young man nodded and walked back towards Kaila, ignoring the stares of the other students and the whispered questions of if he really was human.
-
She laughed it was quite musical a way of drawing in innocent humans at the thought of humans ever calming down enough to accept that there were creatures stronger than them it took them years and sometimes decades to get over parts of their own species let alone other species. ‘Of course no one’s gonna be able to get to me here’.
She looked at him when he patted her on the shoulder but thought nothing of it deciding to take his advice. She gave a small smirk remembering how she had underestimated his abilities but the test didn’t really prove anything only full abilities whether he could use them was another matter. The teacher looked down at the list scanning for Kaila’s name ‘Kaila its finally time to test our new species addition’ he said and made Kaila feel like a experiment subject as he scanned putting the device closer to her than he had to the other students waiting for a response and it took almost a minute before giving the reading of 43 ‘well at least our new addition has got some power’ he said shooing her away from the front and calling to separate into groups of power ranges ‘20 and below over there’ he gestured to the corner ’20-30 in the centre’ and ‘30+ over there on the right’. Kaila walked along with Ezra and some others who fitted the evil look and followed the stereotype that the powerful had to be kept under constant watch. ‘Somebody’s got a grudge against vampires obviously’ she said quietly to ezra so that the teacher couldn’t hear. ‘Hey why don’t you show us your own power’ one of the others shouted out. The teacher looked around before flashing his score for about a second, but Kaila saw the 26 clearly, and watched as some of the others smirked ,but wasn’t sure if any of the lower groups had.
-
Ezra looked over the other people in their group and felt a little intimidated. Yeah he'd gotten a high score, but it looked like any one of these guys could easily mash him to a pulp. At her comment he smiled a little and sent her the thought, /Perhaps..or maybe they just don't want to get sued by the other people or their parents when you beat them around in class./ He turned to face the teacher and tried to ignore the scary looking guy with long black hair standing next to him, which wasn't easy when he could hear him sizing everyone up in the room based on how long they'd live in a fight.
"Okay, now that we're all in our groups remember them because this is who you'll be paired off with for the rest of the school year. If anyone happens to become more powerful than their group during the year we'll bump you up if needed. Group one," he called pointing to the weakest group, "You'll go to classroom 24. Group two you'll be in room 30. Group three you'll stay here in the gym for further testing."
-
The other groups left to the classrooms 'alright now down to the real tests' the teacher said placing everyone into pairs of who they were stood next to. Kaila looked next to her and he grabbed her pulling her out of the group and into the center of the hall before pushing her away to face him ' alright looks like we got our first attack pair now remember no permanent damage can be caused to the opponent and you certainly cannot kill them" he had never had to say such a thing before but this looked like a rough bunch capable of killing without hesitation. Kaila took in the features of her opponent the dark hair and dark eyes gave nothing away except darkness so it didn't surprise her that as soon as the teacher motioned for them to start that a black cloud covered the hall and made her begin to think of her fears, she felt like hiding from it and her opponent took the chance to kick her in the stomach and continuing to add to the fears like the time she had killed her family but then she thought of the blood that had coated her and it made her feel warm she wanted that feeling again. Her eyes glinted red and shone through the cloud before he even had time to react she had grabbed him by the neck digging into the sensitive flesh ' you would do well not to mess with me little wolf' she whispered in his ear.
The darkness cleared and teacher called for calm. 'Alright that was not what I was expecting... I think I might pair you with others for the next session there seems to be a bit of a gap' he said. Kaila let go of him walking back to the larger group leaving the wolf to growl with shame at the loss. The invention of magic hadnt really helped him. 'Who's next?' The teacher said
(i may have over powered my character slightly in this >.< )
