In the not so distant future of the marvel universe...

A massive population overgrowth on earth has forced its governments to initiate a deep space colonization program. Spearheaded by Reed Richards and Hank Pym, under direct collaboration with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the United Nations, the project started with the earth's moon, then gradually shifted towards mars. Then, without warning, planet earth was overrun by an unknown alien invader. Spires were erected from different parts of the world that projected an energy barrier that covered the entire planet, stopping anything from coming in or out. Soon after, an armada of star ships slip-streamed into the solar system and glassed the moon. The devastation was swift and unforgiving. Those who managed to survive, hero and average joe alike, fled to an underground fortress deep within the moon. Though taken completely by surprise, the panic would soon subside, and plans to retake the planet quickly began. With only a handful of heroes and no possible way to reach earth, or anyone else in space for that matter, hope had waned... until they received a transmission...

The Moon:

The lunar terraformation project took in total, about five years to complete. Headed by Reed Richards and Hank Pym, along with a large body of able scientist and engineers. Together, they were able to install 'land re-processors' which were giant, sphere-shaped objects that facilitate as atmospheric domes, 'seeding' the moon with terraformed preservatives and quickly enabling a sustainable atmosphere for humans to live in. The population transfer process involved shuttle transportation, and teleportational gateways, moving millions at an accelerated rate per daily cycle. Since the attack from the unknown hostile alien invaders, several of the land re-processors have been destroyed, causing rapid climate changes. With Reed Richards and Hank Pym missing, the remaining scientific board scramble to bring the moon back into equilibrium. For now, the underground fortress built miles below the surface of the moon is the only safe haven for the remaining survivors.

Abilities: Flight, Can breathe in space for a period of time, extended lifespan, enhanced endurance, has a small star in his body that can be used for long range blasts to short range powerhouse punches, can change his voice to just about anything
Weapons: A katana
Audition/Bio: Zero is the last remaining member of a humanoid race. While all of his race had the ability of flight and were very durable he was different. During the time he was born another planet was at war with them and many experiments to give Zero's race different powers were happening, most of the test subjects either died or became deformed after the process but Zero took on the power. He gained the power to concentrate a blast from a shard of star from inside of him along with his lifespan being extended drastically but even that didn't help them win the war. He grew up on the battlefield, his mother and father never knew him he was taken at a very early age, war was his parents. Nearer the time of their defeat he flew off planet and to earth. Of course, he rid himself of his planets clothes and stole some from a nearby shop. He never had a name before, most people just called him 'experiment 4226' so he took on the name of the words on his shirt, 'Zero'. He floated in between different decades, generations, friends all the while fighting crime.

When it came around the time that Humans colonized the moon, Zero was happy to help defeat criminals who thought that the moon would be a place to commit easy crime. He met many other heroes there but never really interacted with them. He fought his hardest against the invaders before he almost died from being ambushed by a group of the bastards. He was saved by a few other heroes though before retreating to the same place as them.

Abilities:

Density Manipulation- His altered DNA allows him to manipulate density of his body's molecular structure. By manipulating it, he can defy the laws of physics and change his molecular density without harm. With this ability, he is able to make his body completely intangible or make his body super densed. He can also phase/super dense other people and objects as well by touching them:
Intangibility- Jerick can throw off the density of his own molecular structure making him intangible, thus he is able to pass through solid matter by passing his atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which he is moving. In this way he and the object through which he is passing can temporarily merge without interacting, and each is unharmed when Jerick has finished passing through the object but can still be affected by electrical fields and not be able to pass through it. He is only able to "Phase Out" for the length of time he can hold his breath. Also, if this form is held too long, he may not be able to Phase solid again, as his molecules will lose cohesion, and they will literally cease to exist.
Imperviousness- Jerick has the ability to increase the mass of his molecular structure to the point that he becomes completely immune from physical penetration. Also, this state gives him superhuman physical strength, invulnerability to pain, energy-based attacks and telepathic intrusions. But leaves him slower than what he normally is because of incredible body mass. Jerick is only able to "Mass Out" for the length of time he can hold his breath. When in this form, he is vulnerable to weapons that affect his nervous system.

Bio:

Jerick Piotr Rasputin is the son of Kitty Pryde and Piotr Rasputin, also known as Shadowcat and Colossus from the X-Men. When Jerick was born, he immediately was given proper care and training from his parents. He knew that with him being a mutant, he would need to know survival tactics as well as how to control his abilities. With that, his childhood was was really strict, however he still enjoyed the finer things kids could do like hang out with friends, attend school, and go to parties. His training taught him incredible techniques including Marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat, knife fighting, and even parkour. Jerick become one of the most skilled fighters with an edged weapon. His parents always told him that when ever there comes a time when he couldn't access his powers, he needed to be prepared. As far as his powers go, they manifested when he was about 6 years old. His density manipulation is a nice combination of both of his parent's abilities, without his body turning into metal like his dad. He received his alias Viper because of his swift and lethal movements.

At the age of 18, both of his parents went missing during the invasion of Earth. He doesn't know whether they are dead or not. During this time, Jerick also met another man around his age and became good friends. Their friendship escalated and it soon turned into a relationship. The two decided to be a part of the civilization at the moon and soon took refuge there. Once there, they lived together and both of the couldn't have been happier. That was until the moon came under attack, killing his boyfriend. Grief stricken, Jerick went into hiding in the underground fortress beneath the moon. He's been there ever since, hoping one day he could help take back his home planet as well as avenge his boyfriend's death.

Mantis, being how random Deadpool can be, I'm really open to any situation as far as how he ended up helping the colonization program. In your audition, and this goes for anyone trying to pick a canon character, it doesn't have to relate to what is going on in our story. I just want to see if you can play that character.

"Your guess is as good as mine." Peter Quill motioned over to the lounge couch across from S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Nick Fury. He sat there for a moment, staring off into the distance before directing his attention to the man's one good eye. Nick leaned forward, unflinchingly.

"Run it by me one more time."

Peter sighed. "I know how it sounds, but it's the truth. I ran straight toward Thanos, cosmic cube in hand and... 'poof!' everything went white. When I came to, I was strapped up in one of your research facilities off the eastern seaboard."

Nick Fury opened a manila folder that had been sitting on his lap. "Our search and rescue teams responded to a distress signal that was transmitting from the middle of the north atlantic. The peculiar thing about this distress signal, is that it was uniquely coded to follow standard universal protocol for distress. And by universal, I mean universal." Fury handed Peter a laminated photo. Mr. Quill's eyes widened as he glanced back at the S.H.I.E.L.D. director.

"Ship?! You found Ship?" Peter exclaimed.

"You call it...Ship?"

"Hey it was either that or StarCar...But I thought it was destroyed a long time ago..." Images flashed into Peter Quill's mind. Images of StarLord getting in over his head against a former herald of Galactus. The Fallen One was in a whole other league, but Starlord felt that he could take him on. Stupid. Reckless. Upon their confrontation, Peter was quickly humbled. The battle that waged on in space forced Starlord and Ship to make a costly decision, one that will forever haunt Peter for as long as he lives. Though if Ship had survived, then not all was lost...

"In any case," Fury continued, sensing Peter's uneasiness, "We found you in it. You were pretty banged up..."

Peter stared long and hard at the sleek vessel in the photo. "H-How did it find me?"

Nick Fury shrugged. "We have it in one of our hangars. Its refusing to give up any information about pretty much anything. At least until it can confirm that you're alive and well."

"I knew it cared about me!" Peter grinned, but Fury remained unfazed, and it took away whatever patience Starlord had left in him. "Look, you obviously think something is off about my story. If Ship can't clear it up, try contacting the galactic community. While you guys decided to have a civil war, we were keeping whack jobs like Annihilus and the Phalanx from ripping our universe in half. Not to mention our latest run in with one of Adam Warlock's split personalities. You have no idea what people like me go through to make sure planets like earth stay spinning."

Nick Fury remained calm, unaffected by what Peter was telling him. It was almost as if he already knew everything about Starlord, and was merely there for acquaintances.

"Making sure planets like earth stay spinning eh? Well... it's funny that you mention that. Have you heard of Mr. Fantastic and the Ant Man?"

"Great..."

Abilities: Enhanced endurance decapitation and other methods are the only way to successfully kill him while you can still cripple him, all parts of him were enhanced(wink wink ladies), he also has a teleportation device that has a chance of not working. Deadpool employs a number of weapons, including various blades and guns, which he utilizes as both a master marksman and swordsman.
Weapons: Two katanas, two pistols, two uzi's, a submachine gun with various others that aren't carried at all time
Audition/Bio: Deadpool walked around the S.H.I.E.L.D hanger in an almost dancing manner. He had just teleported right inside without anyone knowing. He had planned this for months, he knew where he was going. He headed for the changing rooms, he knew the Avengers were on a mission but he was on his own. Around 30 minutes later he kicked open the door to the room containing Nick Fury. The light blinded Nick for a bit before he facepalmed at what he had seen, Deadpool dressed up as Thor.
"Helloeth!, Nicketh Furyeth! I art ThorPool! Can Ist join the Avengers now?" Nick Fury sighed before saying just about the only thing he had ever said to Deadpool ever
"No." Deadpool was quick to reply
"But I arst ThorPool! Look!" he pulled out a foam hammer matching Thor's that he bought at a fairground once.
"By, Oprahs chins! Mine hammer doth return to, as thought twas a Blockbuster Rental!" Nick sighed again before repeating
"No." Deadpool looked rather sad before tossing the hammer to the floor only for it to bounce and make a small 'squeak!' noise. After that he walked out of the room and back into the Hanger only to see the actual Avengers coming straight towards him. One word flew through his mind.
Shit.
He was wearing Thor's clothes and the Avengers didn't exactly like him he looked around for some sort of way out, his teleporter was recharging and if he used it right after it recharged it had a 70/30 chance of breaking! Then he remembered, his Moped. He ran to it before flipping off the covering on it and hopping on. He jammed his keys in and revved the engine before driving straight out of the hanger. The Avengers took no notice of Deadpool shooting down to Earth at a hundred miles power and gaining.

That was when Deadpool realized the same thing. He angrily mashed the button on his teleporter until he was about to hit the ground. Then it worked. He was teleported to some sort of ship, a spaceship. He looked around the place before getting off of his Moped. He looked around before almost turning a corner and noticing some people. He quickly pressed himself up against the wall before peeking out at them. They had logos on their back, ones that indicated that they were trying to colonize the moon like that news report that had interrupted Deadpools Sesame Street watching. He looked at his actual surroundings now, boxes, crates, stuff in general. He thought up a plan before executing it quickly. He pried open two of the boxes before stuffing his moped in one and stuffing himself in the other. The people on this trip would get one hell of a surprise when he leapt out.
