Old-School Fantasy (Reboot) IC2
"I'm departing to search for a catalyst for Black Dawn," Judas said. "Kira, I'm trusting you to take care of the fortress and repel any intruders should they find this place, understood?"
"Absolutely, Master," Kira beamed, always happy to get a new order. "Are you sure you don't need me to join you in your search?"
"Quite. Those Rising Sun cultists have gotten riled up as of late, and with your unique characteristics, particularly in the arcane sense..." Which was the candy-coated way of saying "Anybody with a hint of magical potential can tell you're ridiculously powerful, and our Rising Sun enemies will surely find and kill somebody like you." Turning to face the world beyond the secluded fortress the two called both home and a place to study magic, Judas said "My journey should take three months at most. If I don't find an answer in that time, I'll return here. If I take any longer, there may have been some trouble. Remain here."
"Understood, Master~" Kira wouldn't remain here. She never did. Any time Judas left, Kira left as well, protecting and watching him from the shadows without him even knowing of it. She was his psychopathic little stalker, and was perfectly happy that way.
"Five months," Kira hissed quietly, doing her best to not destroy everything in her line of sight out of sheer frustration. Five months since Judas left. Kira had fallen asleep during her first night of stalking, and her master was long-gone by the time she woke up. She'd since been following whatever trails of magic she could find, but thanks to their age, it was impossible to tell where Judas actually was right now. At the present time, she was near the quaint little village of Segasana, going in the exact wrong direction to find her master. Close enough to town to smell freshly-baked goods and faintly hear the shouting of merchants selling their wares, but far enough that she couldn't see anything.
With any luck (not that luck ever smiled on her) she'd at least leave this place with a clue as to where her master was.
