Final Fantasy The Honor of Dawn IC
The Honor of Dawn
The Disciples had finally arrived at the forbidden Tower of Miratsu. The four of them stood at the broken doors in awe of the size and beauty in the ruins. At the tallest spire, a frail mirror was hidden within a drawer that a powerful queen once used. It was enchanted by the mages of the four corners of the Earth. It took many years to gain the power it now holds. The queen sent it off to be enchanted at the young age of 14 and didn't receive the now enchanted mirror until three years before her death. Rather than being passed on, the mirror stayed where she last left it and with her, the tower slowly rotted. No one knows what truly caused this tower to become so deserted. Some say it was the Eions first place of attack. Other rumors say that when the queen died, no one else knew how to control the people and anarchy quickly rose up. The truth about the tower was hidden within, along with the mirror. The Tower of Miratsu was unlike most towers as it branched off into other smaller towers, much like a castle. Unlike a caslte, the Tower of Miratsu all connected to one base tower. A few of the towers that had branched off had fallen from the main tower and found a new place on the ground. The whole tower looked as if it could collapse at any moment. At the peak of the tower, all of the branches met into one small point where the queen was said to reside. Half of the room had fallen from the peak which made for a dangerous obstacle course throughout the tower. The Tower of Miratsu was forbidden because of the rumors of the Cult of Chaos. Many people believe there is a portal to the world of the Eeions lying beneath the ruins or that the cultists still reside in the Tower of Miratsu. It was then forbade to ever go there as it would only lead to the destruction of both the visitor and the tower. The Disciples had managed to get past anyone attempting to stop them, yet however sneaky the Disciples had attempted to be, Axai, the feared Soldier of Chaos, had found out and was patiently waiting inside the castle.
The name Axai had been whispered about by many townspeople as he was one of the few known Soldiers. Others often kept quiet or made sure not to get noticed. Axai, however, didn't care about not being noticed as he would always get the job done. People flinched at his name because if it was spoken nearby, then he was almost always coming. Wherever he went, destruction and death followed him as close as his shadow does. The Disciples had heard his name spoken a few times on their way to the forbidden tower, but weren't quite sure where he could be and had no clue he would be in the tower.
Katsu was petrified with fear and sheer awe of the ruins of the once great tower. There was so much history to be found here and so much left undiscovered. Katsu had heard many stories of the queen and her mirror, or how there had been so much mystery surrounding her death. There had even been rumors of the soldiers of the queen being the creators of the horrible Cult of Chaos. Katsu would love to see if these rumors were true and to verify his theories. Katsu said nothing, but slowly pushed the door open and heard a loud creek as it did since it hadn't been disturbed in many years. As much as Katsu wanted to find what else was hidden here besides the mirror, he knew he had to stay on point...for Akara.
Axai sat in the darkness and waited. He had been waiting for hours now and had been completely still. If he let the Disciples know he was there, then all of his fun would be ruined. He could easily find the mirror and stop the Disciples from ever attaining it, but what would be the fun in that? Besides, he had laws and beliefs to uphold. He needed a sacrifice soon as it was and didn't want to give the Disciples a second chance to save the Seven Sages. Axai sat in one of the higher parts of the tower, enjoying the view of the origins of his belief. The rumors were quite interesting and he would definitely be finding out anything he could about the cult after he dealt with the Disciples. Axai let the darkness still around him as he continued to bathe in his thoughts as he waited on the little Disciples to come running into the ruins and find him waiting for them. The sound of a long sharp creek filled the air as the door opened. Let the fun begin.
