Time limit on PMs
Might be wrong section.
Anyway so when I get private messages I tend to ADD and tab out and generally take my sweet time answering it. So when I eventually get to writing out the response and sending it I get the message about the token expiring, which isn't a big deal as I just Copypaste the text after changing pages back to the PM as mashing f5 does nothing for me.
My question is: Anyone know how long a PM can idle before you have to "reload" it?
However long your computer and the server in question holds a connection. Typically twelve hours. On my end it's usually been between 8-12 hours.
For me, it generally says "the token has expired" if I've been on for long enough that my account was logged off (like automatically timed out), even if I logged back in since, like by accessing another page or refreshing something. It happens with posts, too.
Also, yes, this would fit better in the Problems/Suggestions section.
It's not really a problem nor am I making a suggestion
It's a technical question about the site/browser. Yeah, I think it would.

If you don't, however, refresh the page or browse the site or post within X amount of time (likely between 8-12 hours) then your connection is terminated for reasons of efficiency (leaving thousands of unused connections open would unnecessarily clog network traffic) and security (leaving thousands of unused connections open is what a techie calls a nightmare).
The only way to know the precise amount of time you have is to either time it or ask an admin.
