Lycanthrope/Werewolf Settlement Roleplay?
Alright ladies and gentlemen,
This roleplay will be set in modern times though the pack will be very minimalist, especially the older members of the pack. I know everyone has a different idea about Lycans or werewolves as most people call them so I'll do my best to explain my idea in as much detail as possible so there isn't any conflicts later on.
As most people agree Lycans are pack oriented by nature but mine are more so than most. They have a high rate of going rogue or becoming lost in their wolf form and losing the ability to change back into their human one if they spend too much time alone. Rogues are extremely dangerous because they retain their human intelligence but sport a massive canine body.
Most packs generally have an Alpha pair which makes the important decisions for the packs well being. They also protect the pack members and keep order within the pack. Many Alphas also choose to have a Beta pair to maintain the peace should they have to leave for important business. Alphas have the ability to locate their pack members and share thoughts their thoughts and feelings through a mental link. Only Alphas can force their will upon pack members though many try their best not to do so unless absolutely necessary and it is usually for the safety of the pack when they do use their ability. They can also force members into or out of either form. Alphas almost always acquire a mate within the first six or so months of being in power if they do not accept the female who wins the battle between females at the Ordeal.
Alphas are generally larger than regular members as the position is one gained by a battle after the old leader retires or dies and has not named a clear heir. If multiple heirs are named they must battle to either submission or death. These battles are called Ordeals. Betas can make forceful suggestions but some wolves, especially those with alpha bloodlines, can shake off the suggestion. They can also share thoughts with multiple members at once like Alphas.
Regular pack members also have mental links though theirs are limited to one or two others at a time. Mates also have these same mental links and can locate one another with minimal effort. General pack females usually stand between 30 and 37 inches tall at the shoulder while males can range from 40 to 53 inches tall and weigh upwards of 160 pounds. Males are usually more aggressive than females some far more than others. Highly aggressive males generally need to acquire a mate much more quickly than calmer males. Mated pairs are designed for balance, highly aggressive males with calmer but equally determined females and calmer males with more aggressive females. Mates are heavily draw to each other, generally even from childhood though its not as strong as pups. Males must wait until the female's 16th birthday before asking the alpha and the female's father to be mated with her.
Lycans have two distinct forms, a large wolf-like canine form and a human form though many wolves can stop the phasing process midway through. While in their wolf form they retain a form a human intelligence though they do no experience such a wide array of emotions, generally only dominance, submission, hunger, pain, and minimally joy and sadness. Things are in full color in their eyes which is a notable difference between them and true wolves. Another marked difference is that they come in many more colors, about any color you can find on a domestic dog or other canine can be produced by lycan genes. Their eyes are generally, in order of commonness, brown, yellow, orange, blue, grey, green, and silver. In their wolf forms though they can have, again in order of commonness, brown, black, yellow, gold, orange, blue, purple, grey, teal, green, silver and very rarely red. They are also marginally faster and stronger than regular wolves and humans. Even in their human form they can take much harder hits than a normal human would be able to take, they also heal much quicker. Minor cuts and scrapes within minutes, deeper ones within hours, broken bones within a matter of days. Internal injuries take longer, sometimes weeks to heal depending on the severity. If the injuries are extremely substantial and the lycan is unresponsive and healing very slowly often the Alpha can force them into their wolf form and the phasing process can generally heal the more minor injuries so the body can focus on healing the major injuries. Lycans are generally nearly impossible to kill. The only for sure way of killing them is a silver bullet, a stake to the heart, fire, or a broken neck. Silver is poisonous to nearly all lycans though some more so than other, a select few are immune to it but they are few and far between.
If you have any other questions at all feel free to ask them. Do not be shy because I probably forgot to mention some things about them.
As for the plot the pack, referred to as the Blue Ridge pack, lives in a small village within the recesses of the Shawnee National Forest in the United States. Humans believe them to be Native Americans. This roleplay will involve a rogue that I will periodically play into situations, as well as daily life and the intrusions of humans into their territory. There will also be conflicts with other packs and several other situations with which you will have to work with to keep the roleplay going.
Like I said if you have any questions at all feel free to post them, don't be shy.
