I know this is a weird thing to ask Spam of all people, but I'm out of practice, I'm running into technical difficulties and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If anyone else here has Photoshop experience I'd love a hand.
Basically what I'm running into is issues with the text feature. I'll type text into the text box, but then as soon as I click on another layer or do anything to stop editing the text, it goes from its previous solid color to this faded, opaque thing. If I edit it again then it turns back into its solid color, but I can't leave the editor without it going opaque. I have no idea what's causing it - the layer's opacity is at 100%, there are no layers above this one, and rasterizing the layer leaves it in a permanent state of opaque.
Anyone have any ideas what's going wrong? I can add more details and post screenshots if anyone thinks they can help me.
The layer doesn't have any layer effects added to it, right? No masks? Check in the layers panel to the right. Next to the opacity selection there should be something that says "Normal". If it doesn't say normal, then that's probably the problem. Can you take a screenshot of your workspace?

I'm not sure why, but it looks like using bold font instead of regular font has fixed the problem.
It's an issue with the font you chose, I think. Sometimes certain fonts render slightly different when you leave the text editor and become finer/thinner in their design, which makes them seem less substantial. (Or opaque.) This is probably why bolding the font seemed to be a way to work around the issue for you. I'm not sure why this only happens with certain font designs, but it's something odd that I've encountered before, too.
