Hiya! My name is Ashley.
My name is Ashley. I'm nineteen years old and live in California. I'm a music major in my sophomore at a community college and wish to obtain my AA degree in Music by June 2015. From there I hope to get into one of my choice universities and eventually become a professional jazz musician. My choice instrument is the tenor sax however I have a feeling cello will be really close to that. I'm starting that up this semester. After getting to university I will officially declare English as a second major (English teacher fall back plan) and photography as a minor. I know French and have been studying it for about five or six years, give or take. I am trying to teach myself German, more specifically the Austrian/Styrian dialect so I can go back to Austria and visit my exchange family again.
I like to roleplay females more than males, but I do have male characters that I enjoy writing about. A majority of my characters are arts-based characters or stereotypical "drop-outs". I also have two species of my creation that have full on family trees. However when I roleplay the parents or the grandparents I usually take their ages down to their young adult years. The general age group I roleplay is between seventeen and twenty-three years of age. If my characters know a language it'll mostly likely be French, however they may know German also, depending on their heritage.
Uhm other than that I'm excited to get back into my creative mode when it comes to creative writing and roleplaying. I am really rusty but I can always buff off that rust with a little bit of practice. I've just recently gotten back into the rhythm of things after not roleplaying for about seven years. I don't really know what else to say haha. (:
Willkommen! I happen to know German and Russian myself. So you've been to Austria too, eh? I went back in 2008 along with other countries, but I think Vienna was definitely one of my favourite stops on the trip.
You play the tenor sax? No kiddin'?
I do a lot of Jazz drumming, personally.
Jannah: Danke! I loved Austria and I love the language. It was such an experience! Living in the United States gets boring because, specifically California, you can travel ten hours south and still be in the same state. It sucks haha. Russian is on my list, but I want to learn German first haha.
Captain Ahab: I love the tenor sax! I actually started out on flute and it was so easy and boring I switched after two years of playing it. In eigth grade I played alto, it was okay, I liked it. My freshman year band instructor placed me on tenor sax and I loved it since. I'm pretty excited to start cello, though!
Hai Ashley and welcome to RPG! :D If youd like to RP or chat feel free to ask anytime! :)
I do have a question for anyone that will answer: is there a pinging system or do flagged threads or something to notify me when there has been a reply to a thread? Or am I completely missing it? haha maybe I should look around a little bit more.
No problem. :) And theres a subscribe option to threads that you have posted in and should let you know when theres a reply its in thread tools. :)
I find German pretty easy to learn myself, but that's just me. And well I think staying in any place for too long would get boring, kind of one of the reasons I want to travel :/. Too bad it's expensive. I especially want to go to Russia, since that is where my heritage is.
