"I'd like to welcome everyone, prior and future students, to the awaiting school year."
Morning announcements typically followed the same routine. Firstly, they began with a public address from the principal. Secondly the newly enrolled students would be sent to the medical wing for examinations and have their measurements taken for the traditional uniforms, all students were instructed to wear them while in attendance. Although the academy is diligent on maintaining a regulation system for it's students, the curriculum offers a wide variety of courses for the students to select from. Including after-school clubs, student government and work study programs where an income is possible.
The Academy of Collective Arts is a remarkable school. It caters to the wealthy and privileged of New York. Of course students from lower class families are welcomed, that is, if their grades are truly outstanding and the students would be a prize to the school's academic records.
Arranged in the background with her fellow professors and teaching staff, Miss Stevens tightened her hold on the three folders attempting to slip from from her hands. Unlike the other professors, Miss Stevens was a new addition to the lot. Having only been hired a few weeks prior. Miss Stevens, originally an English professor from the grand ol' United Kingdom, had recently transferred herself to the United States and adopted a new life inside of the New York subculture.
Even with that brilliant smile, perfectly composed features and a pricey outfit...Miss Stevens was an outcast to the rich society, including a majority of her students. Her family lived modestly back in England, no three story house or disposable income. Since moving herself to the Big Apple and acquiring this position, Miss Stevens has enjoyed a comfortable life.
"Now, I'd like to introduce the newest addition to our lovely staff..." The principal motioned to the shy blond woman approaching, her folders now shaking between her fingers. "Miss Stevens, she will be teaching Advanced English and Mythology."
Offering a kind smile, a blush rising to her cheeks, the anxious teacher struggled to wave.
"I look forward to enriching your lives with the blessed arts of English and capture your wonders in Mythologies from all countries." She promised, "I shall my best to be a professor you'll enjoy having this year."
