Dictator High is a school that exists in another plane of existence, time means next to nothing here, and the boys who attend school at DHS exist from many eras in our Earth's timeline. The school is overseen by one man, Gandhi, who seeks to form his charges into the best that they can be. Classes are focused on real world applications, and meaningless courses such as history or math are discarded in favor of "Dressing for Success" or the extra-curricular offering, "Painting for the Inept." As all students must be well rounded, an introduction to polemics is required within the first two years of school. The sky is truly the limit as students are able to work one-on-one or in small groups to design student-centric courses with the teachers. But of course, classes are not the only part that sets Dictator High apart from other institutions of learning. Although it is an all-boys school, DHS has a partnership with the all-girls Stepford Preparatory School. Joint events are often held, from theater programs to dances.
OOC Information:My number one rule in this is to leave any personal political beliefs at the door; you disobey this and you will be kicked. This is meant to be comedic in nature, let's keep it that way. If you've seen Clone High, that's the kind of atmosphere I'm aiming for. If you haven't seen it, go youtube it, it's pretty hilarious.
My standards for this will vary a little bit from site standards. Post a few sentences (minimum, no one-liners) up to about a paragraph. Correct spelling and grammar is required. No text-talk unless it is in the format of being a text sent or received. Also, because this is a personal pet peeve, please use the third person (not the first, so "he" instead of "I").
I may consider allowing you to create a female character from the all-girls school as a side character. Possibly. Not a definite.
Appearance: Text or if using an image, no anime
School Year: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior (please note if he has been held back/skipped a year/etc)
Favorite and Least Favorite Classes: Create your own class name, or use one of the examples I offered, or ask in the OOC for ideas of classes.
Personality: Just a quick blurb on what you're like. Use real life history as a starting point, but take into account the awkwardness that can happen in the teenage years.
Not sure where to start in picking your dictator? Check out this or this.
I’ve been given permission by Vanq to RP as Gandhi. That said, I’ll still use the character sheet provided in the OP:
Name: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Nickname: Bapu; Mahatma; “Father of the Nation”
School Year: N/A
Relationship Status: Married.
Favorite and Least Favorite Classes: Bapu actually teaches and enjoys Meditation for All Minds and General Religious Studies. However, when asked which classes he enjoys, he’ll unabashedly admit that he’s never been a fan of the cremation parts of the pottery classes and has never been a fan of Bland Foods for Bland Personalities despite allowing it within the curriculum to satisfy the English taste buds. He considers himself extremely well-cultured and has goen out of his way to provide the same experiences to his students.
Personality: Truth and love drive him in everything he does and he expects this of his children in the Dictator Academy. He commits “himself to truthfulness, temperance, chastity, and vegetarianism.” [Wiki] He looks to be a positive influence on the boys in his academy and takes his role as the administrator very seriously. As it is, he’s often in and out of the school, usually on business. He’s known to appear out of nowhere within the school grounds, lending to the perception that he is omniscient to all that goes on throughout his school. Perhaps he even is. Occasionally he’ll break the fourth wall to inform readers of his thoughts on particular activities; it is said that he is speaking to a Higher Power when he does so.
Name: Maximilien de Robespierre
School Year: Junior, held back one year
Relationship Status: Single but with a nice no strings attached arrangement with Marie Antoinette from the Stepford Preparatory School
Favorite and Least Favorite Classes: Robespierre excels in any polemics courses, but is most fond of the extra-curricular class for bird watching. He loathes any religion classes.
Personality: Overly studious in courses he likes, and completely absent from those he feels below him or contradictory to his beliefs (hence, the reason for his failing his first year at DHS). Often seen as a nerd, he comes alive when speaking and is talented at swaying others with his impassioned speeches. He is also often seen as quite boring and his not-so-secret boning fest with Marie has caused a lot of speculation over what his reserved nature is hiding.
Name: Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz
School Year: Sophomore
Relationship Status: Totes single.
Favorite and Least Favorite Classes:Fidel mostly is not interested in academics; he is considered 'gifted' as students go, but is more interested in playing sports, particularly baseball, than anything. He seems to have a gift for history, geography and debating, though his performance in those classes is streakish, and depends on whether he likes the teacher or not. Like everyone else, besides Adolf Hitler, he loathes "Introduction to Art for the Inept."
Personality: Born as a result of his father's affair with the cook at his plantation, Fidel was raised with a clear class consciousness and he takes that into the school -- he is constantly trying to undermine the student council. While he is, at first glance, an outsider, he has a degree of popularity for embracing the rebel role. On the other hand, he is very secretive about his family.
