For years, the land of Almia has lived in peace; the great pokemon rangers worked together over two decades ago to end the reign of terror brought on by Team Dim Sun. Since then, they have sat idle, patrolling the happy landscapes of Almia, remaining seen but not fully needed. The era of peace, after 2 decades, seemed to be for certain. Until...
Mary awoke to the sound of her 5 year old daughter Sophita giggling and talking quietly in her room. At first she brushed it off as the little girl often collected her toys and played with her clefairy when she could not sleep. The mother listened to the chatter for a short while and then something happened; the sound of the window latch opening followed by the silence of her little girl brought a feeling of terror over her... There was no way her little Sophie could reach that latch..
Springing up from bed she ran down the hall and into the now empty room. "Sophie?! Sophie!" She looked around frantically, the open window swayed in the night air, Sophie was nowhere to be found. A quiet rustle came from the closet, Mary went pale. Creeping slowly towards it she hoped she would find her daughter in it, playing hide and seek. She carefully reached out her hand and just as she was about to open it the doors burst open and a horrible Gengar leapt out, Mary screamed when she saw it was wearing the same bow Sophita's Clefairy normally wore.
After chuckling to itself the ghost pokemon leapt out the window and disappeared into the night. Sophie was nowhere to be found. As Mary fell to the ground sobbing she noticed something shining under the bed, upon retrieving it she shuttered in fear as she realized what it was; a round pendulem attached to an old worn string. The legends were true.
"Hello there young ranger. My name is Professor Hastings... Yes the professor Hastings that retired 10 years ago. I've had to come out of my retirement as the situation that falls on our land is far to dire to leave in the hands of some young, modern professor.
As you well know, there have been reports of children going missing all over Alimia. There are pokemon falling into a shadow state; first recorded in the Orre region many years ago. Their souls are tainted, though the purification chambers once used to cleanse the pokemon are null in this matter. They do not work.
There is only one way for the pokemon's hearts to be opened again; you. You along with your collegues have a duty as pokemon rangers to return as many pokemon to their original state as possible as well as investigate these vile, dark happenings. The children must be found, the pokemon must be saved, and the culprit must be discovered and stopped.
You are to report to Ranger HQ first thing tomorrow for your first Quests, understood?
Now, before you go.... I seem to have forgotten much about you.
What is your...
Ah! Perfect, Now I remember you. So! I'll see you first thing tomorrow. Good day!"
Through out the RP I will be highlighting things in Cyan. I ask that nobody else use cyan in their text. I will highlight important things so that you can read ONLY the cyan bits as they will let you know what's going on. This may or may not come in handy. I find it useful for those who are too busy to read the whole posts. :)
Also, there will be a point system used to gain ranks. It is as follows:
Easy Quest: 1 Point
Medium Quest: 3 Points
Hard Quest: 5 Points
Expert Quest: 10 Points
Special Quests: 5 Points (These will not always be difficult, but they will always involve a legendary pokemon.)
Expert Quests will rarely be given out, and when they are they will be long and difficult. The reason for their difficulty being that you will gain a rank by completing one.
Yes it will be hard to reach rank ten, it's supposed to be. Rank ten would make you a veteran Ranger, which is a very esteemed title.
The perks for each rank are as follows:
*I haven't figured out how I want the perks to work yet... Ideas? haha GM fail....*
The capture styler is used to convey your emotions and feelings to the pokemon you are in contact with. In Almia we do not use pokeballs for capturing pokemon. Instead, a pokemon must be befriended and their trust gained. Once they agree to be a partner pokemon (which isn't often as the pokemon in Almia enjoy their life of freedom) you may use a pokeball to store them in and transport them.
Friend pokemon will travel with you to help you in your quests but once they have repaid their debt they will depart and return to their homes in the wild.
Characters Of Importance
Professor Hastings is the most renowned intelligence in all of Almia. His mind is sharp as can be, despite him having to come out of retirement. He has no patience for foolishness or tardiness. Stay on his good side.
Yup! She's still here! Your faithful operator Rhythmi, it's comforting knowing that she'll always be on the other end of the line to assign you new quests or point you in the right direction if you're lost. She is your main base of contact with Ranger HQ when out in the field.
....She's STILL around? Yes, yes she is. It seems nothing can best our beloved Chairperson Erma. She has been faithfully serving Almia's Ranger Union for over 50 years and she's still here to help solve the recent dilemma's of the region. She is wise beyond all belief but won't be so willing to give up the answers to the questions you seek for she believes a young ranger must learn by his/her own path.
Once a member of the illusive Team Dim Sun, Ice is now the highest ranking Ranger in the Union, he was around when Team Dim Sun tried to take over the region and since converting to the Union, he is always ready and able to help young rangers solve especially tricky quests. Though he rarely leaves the union, feel free to go speak with him in his quarters whenever you need a hint or tip.
Veteran Ranger Wendy and her staraptor served the Ranger Union through times of darkness and aided in the take down of the Evil Go-Rock Quads and their leader Blake Hall. The Ranger Union is so much a part of Wendy's life she hasn't been able to bring herself to retire. She will happily help you on any quests should you ask.
Personality: Smart and willing to help, Lucio is a rather intelligent young man who is willing to do anything to help with the recent disappearances of children. Although he is one to plan out an approach, he can also become quite direct when he is caught up in the moment. He is most happy around pokemon of the Electric Type, and absolutely hates Ghost Types, namely Gengar, as it's randomness completely ruins any plans he may have had laid out.
Appearance: Adrian is rather short and scrawny for his age, often wearing the same oversized grey shirt, topped by a thing black zip-up hoody. His straight and narrow face are capped with calm, observing grey eyes. Thin, “whispy”, straw blonde hair frames his features, held back in a low ponytail, only to be covered by a large, featureless, red bandanna.
Personality: Adrian is extremely quiet, always has been. This began for he used to travel with his brother when he was several years longer, learning and apprenticing under him. His is well versed in travel and pokemon, though often keeping to himself and his traveling partners. His demeanor towards pokemon is strong in the bonding aspect, preferring their company more than most people. His manners are impeccable, leaving a very respectful, if not awkward, impression on most, though when a threat or challenge arises, he and his team work in perfect harmony, as is his wish to be with every creatures that crosses his path.
Adrian has traveled to three of the known regions, gaining an undisclosed amount of badges and pokemon, though he firmly believes a new region means new adventures.
Combusken, Female, “Flare”
Appearance: Micha adorns bright red hair that flows to the middle of her back when let down, but she usually wears it in a rather long ponytail. Big blue eyes are the focal point to her face due to having a thinner shaped visage. She normally wears a rather over-sized black hoodie, zipped all the way up, and a beanie with Pichu ears and a green pokeball so that everyone knows that she trains.
Personality: Micha is a very quiet gal, though when she actually talks, she is nothing but nice. She also loves to mimic her pokemon, and one will more than likely find her spending quality time with her pokemon rather than another trainer, though she is open to meeting the other trainers.

I will not be playing a character per say, I will be strictly GMing as there are going to be ALOT of quests, encounters, and NPCs to interact with.
Just thought to, in a friendly manner, point out you misspelled Accepted. ;)
lol oops, I saw that before and forgot to fix it. Thanks :P
