Desmond opened his eyes, his head throbbing with pain, the last thing he could remember was him and Adrianna walking through a jungle, trying to find this dead civilization; he had fallen down a cliff that he remembered and had dragged her down with him, were they dead? No, he was in too much pain to be dead, he sat up slowly; blood rushing to his head and he clutched at it, looking around slowly he saw a tan man looking at him almost panicked, he dropped the vase he was holding and ran away, Desmond rose an eyebrow and looked around and spotted Adrianna and shook her gently "Anna, wake up." He hissed, still holding his head in one hand.
Before she could wake up, he heard the sound of someone walk in, the man was dressed in tiger pelt and bones, and had a wild look about him. "Our lords, we are so pleased the gods have decided to join us, at last." The tan man grinned.
The guide they had recovered pointed them in the right direction. Adrianna was sure of it! The team believed her, but after exploring the jungle for over a few days, they began to believe that the writings she found were misleading. In her heart, she knew it was the real thing, which was why she pulled Desmond along with her. They had been walking in the jungle and the next thing she knew, she was falling and it was light's out.
Adrianna felt herself being moved, and then she heard something. It was muffled and unintelligible but that only proved that she was still alive and she wasn't killed by a concussion. She forced her eyes open, and it took time for them to focus before she saw the native standing before them. Behind him was a small man who looked sinewy and frail but had eyes that betraayed intelligence. The man wore a gaggle of colored feathers on his head as he bowed to them behind the other man. "Our king is preparing the palace for your arrival as soon as we have heard. Forgive our hasty preparations."
Adrianna blinked at the two of them than at Desmond. She leaned over to him, ignoring the pain lancing throughout her body and the hammering in her head. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing? And are you hearing what I'm hearing? Or am I going insane with that hit in my head?"
"I'm seeing it too, what on earth is going on?" He asked. "They were saying something about the gods joining them." He said, rubbing his head as he sat up, he looked at her "Are you alright? Last thing I remember we were falling, and then we were here." He said "I cantre-" He said, his words slurring together "I remember we were falling." He said, repeating his last words; he had hit his head pretty bad and could barely speak.
"I did fall on top of you...sorry..." She looked from him to the men. "Well...they don't seem to mean us any harm. Might as well come with them--or they might just mean us harm then." She stood, a little wobbly on her feet and reached out a hand to help him out.
The colorful man bowed to them with a large smile, looking very reverent.
Sorry its taken me so long to respond, been very bust lately.
Desmond looked around, everything was going in and out of focus; his words slurred together in distinguishable mutterings. Only when she held out a hand to him did he finally gain a little focus, he took Adriannas hand and stood up "Lets...Lets go...Might be..Lets go they might be helping us." He said, still slurring a little, but now you could understand him to some degree. "You never know." He said shakily, standing very shakily. He brushed back his blonde hair that was caked in small patches of blood.
