Champions of RPG: IC
Heldrad, an entity with limitless power... There is nothing he cannot do if he so wishes it, create universes, snuff out the entire of reality with like a pair of wet fingers over a Candle.
"So, why am i so god damn bored?" Said Heldrad. "Have i literally done everything imaginable? Well... That's a bit of a bummer... What to do." he quickly pawed through the many folds of reality to see what he could find. "Let's see... Alright... i like these guys, pretty awesome. So... The big question is, if i got them in a massive arena together and got them to kick the shit out of each other... No, what am i saying? There are a trillion other Omnipotent assholes who have done the same thing, that's boring." He sat down in his giant golden throne and thought. "Wait... If i pair them off and make them work in teams, then i could set them different challenges. Sure, some would just be them kicking the shit out of each other, but others would be much more interesting." he said. "Alright then, let's work our magic." he waggled his fingers over the bubble that was Reality.
In the middle of a giant Colosseum, everyone appeared, in their teams.
"Wow... What the hell?" asked Kyzan. "Wait... Jim?" she asked. Jim put his hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, i'm here, have we been Shanghai'd for another "Save the Multiverse" deal?" he asked.
"Dunno... Maybe." she said, pressing the safety release on the Ultimatrix. At that point, they saw Jack. "Alright... It's an Anthropomorphic Rabbit..." she said. Jack got shakily to his feet before looking at them.
"What the hell are you supposed to be?" Jack asked them.
"Oh great, where did that mad bint send me this time?" asked Tim, looking at everyone. He quickly pulled out his Morpher and slapped in the Red Samurai Ranger Key. "GO GO SAMURAI!!!" he said drawing a symbol in the air before slapping it with his Morpher, the symbol flew into him and he transformed into the Red Samurai Ranger. "Ok, so who wants to go first?"
"Oh, a Power Ranger?" asked Kyzan. "I've dealt with your kind before."
Jaes looked at everyone. "Ok, so can anyone explain what the hell is happening?" Kahless looked at him.
"Ah, a Kryptonian?" he asked. "I am afraid that i have no idea what's happening." he said. "But this is definitely some kind of arena. As such, we will no doubt have to battle one another." he said.
"You are here because i wish it." said the booming voice of Heldrad as he appeared up on a ledge. "You have been brought here to prove that you are the greatest from where you come from, Do not fear, as time does not pass whilst you are here, you will be returned at the exact same nano-second as you left. To those of you who win, Lavish prizes beyond your wildest dreams and power like that you have never known." he said. He actually meant that their powers would be increased to their peak whilst they were here.
"Oh great..." sighed Kyzan.
"Well, i am up for this Power like you have never known stuff..." said Jaes. "I'm gonna need that for when i go back." he said.
Suddendly, seven female characters appeared on the middle of the colosseum. First, there was someone that looked like a tall barbarian, six feet tall in height, and with a strong wind current coming out of her feet. Second, there was a black haired female wearing black leather gloves and boots. Next to her, was someone that looked like a lizard woman with green hair and two small horns and she was next to a purple haired female with cat years that was holding a sword on her right hand. The last three were a human with what looked like metal covering most of her body and two giant swords, a human looking person with grey hair and long ears, and... Someone with a large hat, sunglasses and a brown raincoat. All of them suddenly appeared and started looking at each other, the barbarian, dark haired human and the cat lady one getting on a fighting stance. "Ok" said the lizard woman looking at the rest of the group "It looks like we were all pushed here for some reason so let us try to stay good for a bit, alright?" "I concur. If none of us was responsible for bringing us here, then maybe the culprit will reveal itself soon" Said the one with long years and grey hair. And she was right. The moment she finished her sentence, someone with a booming voice said that he was the culprit and explained that there were prizes to be won. This made the three females that were on a fighting stance calm down and join the conversation. The first one that spoke was the Barbarian. "Well, I don't know about you, but I like to know the names of the people I battle with. I'm Hanma Nasanth" The dark haired female spoke next. "Agreed. My name is Amelia Yehart" "I'm only known as Kelethoa" Said the Lizard woman. "And I'm Zoria Abilla" responded the cat woman. The next one to speak was the one covered in metal, with a somewhat robotic voice. "Vivian Model Seven". "And I'm Tarí Anárion" said the grey haired female. The only one left to answer was the one with a large hat and a large raincoat. She spoke with a strange pronunciation, extending the sound of the 's' "Eliana Sssevessstra" They all nodded at each other and then looked at the other groups around. "Looks like that's our competition. Let's beat them, alright?" asked the Lizard woman. "We will" Answered everyone.
The recently rebuilt build Grand Barrier appeared in the colosseum this time with a couple extra members. Aegis looked among her group to ensure everyone was safe. "I see everyone is safe... There appears to be new faces I haven't ever seen before though. Who may you be?"
Walt fixed his hat and then smiled. Kiddo, the name's Walt Thern, and I gotta say that's a funny outfit you have on. What are you... some kinda knight?"
She leveled her gaze on him, her expression hidden by her helm. "Knight may be the most appropriate term for me. I am Aegis, I am leader of the guild Grand Barrier." She looked among the others waiting for their responses.
Aerin blinked a bit. She still wore a surprised expression on her face. "I-I am Aerin Thane, I was in my uncle's dojo until just now. What's going on?"
Walt grinned as he looked around. "Girlie, I reckon we've been summoned for one reason or another. I mean look, there's a few other groups of seven here."
Grant looked around following Walt's gaze. "He speaks true, there are others."
Aegis nodded and then looked at the last person who hadn't introduced himself. Jayce had been spacing out a bit until now. After all, the best way to ignore the pain was to not even be present in your mind for it. Although he had expended all the kinetic energy he stored up force of habit kept him inattentive. "Oh! Uhhh... Name's Jayce Wells." He felt awkward speaking his name to introduce himself. Where he came from everyone knew his name. "Seems that you lot know each other." His eyes were directed at the four members of Grand Barrier. "Mind introducing yourselves?"
Grant looked Jayce in the eyes. ""Grant." The man never spoke much unless he had to.
The redheaded Lilliana smiled brightly as she fixed her nylon gloves. Her entire outfit that nicely covered her body was made completely of nylon and polyester as her allergy to cotton would make things rather uncomfortable for her. "I am Lilliana Brennan, but you can call my Lily, dearie."
Aedin coolly inspected everyone as they spoke. It was a force of habit for him to gauge every single new person he met so he could judge them later. "I am Aedin Demavend." He looked over to Aegis. "What shall we do about our new situation?"
Aegis looked toward the other groups in the colloseum. "I am not certain, Aedin, however we must learn about our new situation before I can make a decision about that. We aren't alone here clearly, but what is our purpose here?"
Jayce chuckled a bit. "Isn't it obvious? This is an arena. We're put into a team it seems. I expect we'll be fighting those other teams."
Aegis took a braced stance. "Very well."
For a moment there was total silence, as the creatures that just materialized inside the giant arena gaped at each other in confusion, quickly followed by the sound of weapons being drawn and being aimed at one another. There were six of them standing together in a group: two human men, a human girl with a disturbingly deformed arm, some kind of large steel golem, a humanoid creature covered in white fur, and a tall man covered completely in metal. Before anyone bothered to say something, everyone's attention was shifted to the seventh creature that was groggily climbing onto its feet: a massive green musclebound monster.
"What is that thing?" the girl yelled out, while aiming her deformed hand towards the creature as if it was a weapon. Seemingly confused, the monster looked around itself, before letting out a loud booming roar towards the rest of the group, causing everyone carrying a weapon to redirect their aim towards him. However, the creatures aggression seemed to disappear completely when it was interrupted by the voice of a man appearing high above them, who explained their situation.
"Lux, please tell me you know what's going on here." Clark said, as he held his shotgun pointed towards the monster and his revolver towards the golem. Lux was already staring up towards the figure. "I don't understand. His energy is unlike anything i've ever seen."
"You!" yelled the girl, as she and the golem both aimed their weapons towards each other. "This is interesting." a deep voice answered from inside the metal shell. "You can't hide behind your cowardous tactics now, can you?" "I can take you on right now, rust bucket."
"Silence!" growled an animalistic voice. One of the humans that was in the group only moments ago was now replaced by a large, furry werewolf. "You two may be enemies normally, but today you must be allies. I dunno what this place is, but fighting among each other isn't gonna help anyone." He turned towards the entire group. "My name is Ethan. Introduce yourselves." Hesitantly, five of the six stated their names. Sarah, Morgan, Clark, Lux and Savage. To everyone's surprise, the monster was actually capable of speaking English, albeit flawed.
That's when the metal man, who'd been silent and surprisingly calm this entire time, spoke. "This is all very cute, really. But let's get to the point. YOU UP THERE!" His voice suddenly turned up in volume, as if being electronically enhanced. "What gives you the right to use us as your personal amusement?" he yelled towards the man above. "You can't command me!"
Within yet another moment, six figures were teleported from their daily lives into the colosseum. Each just as confused as the other. Before, anyone in this group even said a word, Susan Baer, a human woman with squinted eyes and long hair, immediately attacked a man with a bow and quiver of arrows. The man, Terumi Miu, reacted to this sudden attack with a gust of wind, powerful enough to keep Himself out of Susan's hitting range. He drew an arrow fom his quiver, placed it with his bow and pulled back, aiming for Susan. He thought that she may have been a corrupted human.
Simultaneously, VAULT felt powerful creatures in this new area and could not confirm whether that were foes or allies. Susan's sudden outburst, startled VAULT, forcing it to think that they were all hostile forces. It reached inside of itself to obtain a pair of claws. It turned to face the creature nearest to itself, a woman that was half machine. Her name was Lo, and she was quick to react to VAULT's claws with a variety of drills and blades protruding from extensions that protruded from the machine part of her body.
Zoey Lilim started to panick. She was just in the witch's house, studying spells, when she was suddenly in this colosseum. With four of the people nearest to her looking like they were about to kill each other, Zoey quickly turned to see if someone was going to attack her. What she found was not someone attacking her, but a tall man with long hair and a calm expression on his face.
"Please calm down." Said the man. Though his voice was calm, it somehow resonated through to the other four.
"Fighting will confuse you even more. Put away your weapons."
What they heard was a calm voice, but also one of great authority. They slowly, but eventually put away their weapons, although Susan still punched Terumi in the arm, out of annoyance.
The calm man, known as Nobunaga, looked over to other groups of people that were in the colosseum.
"It seems that we are supposed to be on the same team. But it seems that we are missing someone."
There exists an isle where a festival of great proportions is celebrated. Some question where it exists, but none doubts its existence. It is called Eldin Isle, and it is the home of the dimensional Festival. It is a place that exists in every dimension, and is watched over its creator, a woman that is a guardian of the dimensions. She protects the isle from forces that aim to steal from it for selfish reasons, whether they be mortal or immortal, god or devil. She felt someone trying to do such an act, and was about to counteract it when she heard the voice of an old friend, requesting that the one called Giraiga be taken to participate in Heldrad's challenges. The guardian sighed, and told Giraiga of its mission. Giraiga agreed to participate, and walked into the sea, away from the isle, in order for Chrono to be sure that the force would take no other.
As Giraiga appeared in the colosseum, it towered over the rest of the team it belonged to. Looking down at them to assure that it was an ally. Exiting its body for a moment, Giraiga's soul interacted with Nobunaga's and explained what has happened to them.
"We...are to be used as subjects for a series of challenges?" Nobunaga said, wondering how the thought ever entered his mind.
Heldrad looked down at the teams. "Each of you have been selected to be a member of your team because you each have a special skill that your team cannot proceed throughout the trails without." he said. "First and foremost, you shall each choose one to lead your team. The main representative who will make your main decisions. They will be the Be-all-end-all of decision making. Please decide now." he said.
The team looked at each other. "Well, i have had special training in leading a team of people, i am the only logical decision." said Tim.
"Nope." replied Jim. "Kyzan has years of experience, she has planned out and lead me and our team to hell and back too many times to count." Jaes looked around.
"I'm not much of a leader, I'm just here to smash stuff." he said.
"Same here... Only with the magic thing." said Jack.
"I have faught more battles than any of you could possibly imagine..." said Kahless. "However, i will admit that it has been far too long since i have lead men into battle. My skills may not be the best... However, i have seen Kyzan's handywork first hand. I will follow her."
Captain Punishment piped up. "I am one for following orders... Whoever here is the most experienced should lead. How much actual experience do you have?" Captain asked Tim.
"I... I've not really lead my team yet..." he said looking at his feet.
"Well, it's 3 to 1..." said Jim. "We have our team leader." Kyzan stepped toward Heldrad.
"I will lead our team." she said. a Beam of light appeared around the team, when it disappeared, the entire team were wearing strange rings on their fingers, a gold engraving of Kyzans head was on each of the rings.
"Simply speak into the Ring and you may speak with any member of your team."
So now, a leader was needed. None of the girls actually stepped forward. It seemed that no one actually wanted to be the leader. It was obvious this would happen. They were on a strange place, fighting against strange people. The leader that was to be chose really had to be one of the best experienced. After a moment of inner thought, Kelethoa looked at her teammates with a serious look. "I'm sure we are all thinking about who should be the leader, but he problem is... We don't know anything about each other. Here's what I suggest. Our team won't have a leader." The other girls looked a bit stunned at Kelethoa, wondering what she was thinking. Suddenly, Tarí stepped forward. "I think I understand what you're trying to say. It's not that we just don't know anything about each other. We also don't know anything about who we'll be facing and what we'll be doing. I believe that what Kelethoa is suggesting is that when the job is something that one of us can do, we step forward." Kelethoa nodded in agreement and next was Amelia's turn to speak. "I agree. But still, we should tell each other what our strong points are. For example, I'm really good at hand-to-hand combat." Hearing this, Hanma laughed. Everyone else looked at her. "Is that so? Then I would love to spar with you someday. But a bit of a warning. I'm strong. I mean, crazy strong. I believe I could lift you all with just one finger if I wanted to." You try that and I'll cut all your fingers barbarian. I'm a master with melee weapons so don't take me lightly" warned Zoria and Tarí continued. "And I'll blast you with all the forces of the elements. Magic is with me.". Next up, was Vivian, speaking with her kinda robotic voice. "Magic is outdated. Technology is the way to go, and I'm the one representing it here I believe.". The two that were missing were Kelethoa and Elianna. Elianna didn't even speak. She only extended her arm gently out of the raincoat to reveal a bow. Kelethoa however was deep in though. Tarí asked what was wrong and she answered. "There isn't a specific thing that I am really really good at. I'm good at hand-to-hand combat. I love using my katana. I have ranged attacks... And I know some magic. I guess I'm good at multi-tasking?" Everyone, except Elianna, laughed. Tarí then asked the group if they agreed that Kelethoa should be the leader. Everyone agreed and Kelethoa took a step towards Heldrad. "I'll be the leader here". A beam of light then appeared around her and the rest of the team. When it disappeared, all of the girls had a strange ring. "Well, they say that jewelry is the key to a girl's heart." Said Zoria. Everyone else laughed, this time, Elianna as well.
Aegis looked at the others waiting for a response from them before speaking herself. Aedin stared right back at her. "You've always been the leader, I haven't been in a position to change that for the last couple years."
Grant nodded at her but did not speak. He was willing to follow her command to death.
Lily smiled. "I'm with you one hundred percent of the way. I've never been interested in leading anyone anyway."
Jayce sighed and his shoulder's dropped a few inches. "Not like I have much of a choice, suppose I'll follow your lead. Better than being on my own... I guess."
Walt grinned excitedly. "Kiddo, tell me where to shot and I'll hit it. With my luck we'll win this for sure."
Aerin shrugged. "I don't know you, but it seems we're stuck together until this is done. I'm not a leader."
Aegis nodded and smiled, although her expression was known only to herself. "That settles that. Looks like there's a general consensus." She then faced Heldrad. "I am Grand Barrier's leader."
With that a beam of light struck the group and when it dissipated the each member of the team wore a golden ring.
Walt chuckled as he looked at his hand. "You should have asked, I might have said 'yes'." The sarcasm was clear in his voice and he chuckled to himself at his joke.
The group remained silent for a couple seconds following the request to choose a leader, except for a low growl-like sound from the metal man, in response to Heldrad ignoring him. "Fine, i'll play along." he grunted. "My name is Death, and i have little patience for leading a bunch of misfits. I prefer solving problems the fun way." With that statement, he balled his metal-covered hand into a fist, as if crushing something inside of it.
"Fine." Clark answered, ignoring the not-so-subtle insult. "I assume the beast isn't an option either, so that leaves us five." Savage didn't pay any heed to the comment about him and simply continued looking around towards the other groups, like an animal spying on his prey. "I've played leader to our group before, when the real one isn't around, so i might do the same thing now. Any other volunteers?"
With a metallic sound, the golems head partially opened up, revealing the face of a dark-skinned human male. "I'm a soldier and an engineer, no general. I'll leave the role to you."
"I'm just a lone outcast, really." Ethan said, still remaining in his werewolf form, as he didn't deem the situation entirely safe just yet. "I'll follow your lead if the others do."
"You seem like a better leader than most here. I'll agree." was Sarah's answer.
"You alright with that, Lux?" Clark specifically asked towards the only familiar person here. Lux's empty black eyes stared at him for a couple seconds, before he answered "I don't like to admit it, but you're a better leader than me."
With a nod towards Lux, Clark stated "I'll be the leader of this team then.", triggering a beam of light that materialized a golden ring around everyone's finger, surprisingly even a supersized one for Savage.
One particular group was having a hard time deciding a leader. Well...to be more precise, they didn't know anything about each other, and the previous conflict didn't help them make decisions. Unlike the other groups, absolutely no one on this team knew each other. They were thrown together from different dimensions, without any history of being anywhere close to the others. As you would imagine, no one would agree to choose the other as leader.
"This is quite the predicament." Said Nobunaga. "But I may have a solution to this problem."
Lo shot a glare at Nobunaga, and said, "Oh really? And what might this solution be?"
"It is a simple game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. We'll just have a small tournament to decide who shall lead."
"That sounds like the dumbest idea I've ever heard" said Lo in response.
"It doesn't matter how we choose the leader, does it?" Stated Terumi. "As long as we end up with one."
Seeing that no one really cared about the way they chose their leader, they ended up doing the tournament anyway, which ended with a Nobunaga as the victor. He had done nothing to cheat in any of his matches, but still the others felt cheated. Either way, Nobunaga was the decided leader of the group, and they were given their rings.
"Now...Since we are a team, we should get to know each other. I am Nobunaga Jin." He bowed in respect towards the others.
"Name's Terumi." Said Terumi, crossing his arms.
"Lo." Said the Demi-god woman, slightly annoyed.
"Z-Zoey." Said the seemingly normal school-girl. "Zoey Lilim."
Susan simply grinned before introducing herself. "Susan Baer. Just a brawler"
VAULT pointed to its left shoulder, where "VAULT-233INV10" was shown on its coat.
When everyone looked to Giraiga, Giraiga's soul went to give the information of its name to the others. It took time, given that it can only speak to one at a time, but eventually they all questioned why they knew it to be called "Giraiga."
