It is early morning, the sun only just risen over the horizon. Dew still covers the grass, and Vanai has yet to awaken. Now your story begins.
Lore and Info
blake awakes, gets out of bed and begins preparations for a trip to the southern forests. he left a note for the maid to keep his cat fed while he's gone before putting some proper clothes on and beginning his climb down the massive staircase to the bottom floor. "i really need to start learning teleportation magic"
*Lily looks down from her perch. She'd slept on a pile of hay, and she'd had a surprisingly restful sleep. She'd had a nightmare about the creepy man, who wanted to take her home. She knew that meant the Shadow Man had killed him. She looked around, down on the pile of hay below, checking if the Shadow Man was still here. Assured he wasn't, she climbed down, and ran away from the barn before the farmer woke up. Unbeknownst to her, the inhabitants of the barn had met a gruesome fate that night.*
Aramil descends from the second floor of the inn. His sleep had been fitful, and the quiet bustle of the early-morning patrons seemed almost ear-shattering. He adjusted the rucksack on his shoulder, and made his way out into the streets. He inhaled deeply, taking in the scent and flavor of the cold morning air. The coolness washed over him, clearing his mind as he began walking further into the city, always looking at the top of the great tower peeking over the roofs of the buildings.
after finally reaching the ground floor of the citadel, blake entered the town around it and arranged for a carriage to take him to his family's old estate.there were some items there that he believed would help with his research as his father was a collector of many mystical artifacts, some of which may be able to help humans resist the overwhelming fear and dark that make up what little has been seen of the dark plane. it was still early when they left and blake made sure to read some spell books focused on teleportation along the way
((surely it doesnt take this long for like 1 paragraph. well i guess wizardguy has an excuuse because hes posting in multiple threads at once))
*Lilly works her way through the crowd, trying not to attract attention. She'd heard maybe there was a mage here who could help her. Wherever she went the Shadow Man followed her, killing people around her. She thought back to her mother and father, and quickly suppressed that memory, putting on a large, almost convincing smile as she was bumped over for the so manieth time. She'd get there. She'd get cured, and then everything would be alright.... she kept thinking that, as she headed to the mage's home.*
the carriage had stopped at the blacksmith, as blake was going to need a weapon in case he ran into trouble. he chose a finely crafted schimitar and payed the smith. as he left, he saw a small girl among the croud that seemed to be searching for someone or something.
*Lilly was lost. She could hardly see anything besides the legs of people around her, and it scared her that she didn't know where she was going. She was about to burst into tears when she saw a friendly-looking man who seemed to be looking at her. The crowds avoided his carriage, and Lilly hurried over to him, if only to be out of the way of the mass of humans. She reached the man and stood in front of him, shyly shuffling her feet.*
Umm... sir... I- umm... d- do you know the way to the nearest mage, please?
*Lilly looked at the man with her large eyes, hoping he'd help her.*
"well i happen to be one" he told the girl, " i specialize in studying the dark realm. what do you need? i'll try to help you however i can"
Aramil pushes his way through the increasingly thick crowd. His thoughts are on the citadel, so his body moves almost of his own accord, and his surroundings blur into innattentiveness. Since the incident with the bandits, Aramil was extremely careful with how he moved. He knew what it was he had done, but he had no clue how to control his magic and was thus afraid of using it inadvertantly. So he said nothing to those few who cursed him for pushing past them, and moved as quickly as the crowd allowed toward the citadel.
