The Ghosts of Orion (Sci-fi Special Forces]
By the year 2104, humanity has embraced a period of primordial peace, harmony, stability, and prosperity. Advances in
technology now enables mankind to not only reach out beyond the Sol system, but to sustain settlements on other
planets. Vaccines for conventional diseases, such as cancer, have been developed. Alternative sources of fuel have
recently been found. Discoveries regarding human physiology now indicate certain individuals have been born with
physic potential. And following the aftermath of the first Interplanetary war, a unified Earth government now
administers the small empire humanity has carved into Orion Arm.
However this new golden age is threatened by war. The overbearing influence of the Earth government, projected by it's
military forces, has led to a growing secessionist stance among those living outside of the Sol system. And while so far
there has been only nonviolent resistance by members of the movement, many fear that the more radical elements of
the movement will soon take more drastic measures that could inevitably lead to a costly, prolonged all out civil war
between loyalist and separatist factions.
Unbeknownst to the general public though, Earth has already taken the necessary precautions in in the event that direct
action is taken by the radicals. An elite special forces unit stands ready to take the drastic measures of it's own in order
to preserve the peace. It's roster consists of men and women recruited from every branch of Earth's militaries, ranging
from the United States Marine Corps to the Russian Army. It's members have gone through years of intensive, inhumane
training designed to allow them near-superhuman capabilities. And not only has the unit been equipped with only the best
weapons, armor and gear humanity has to offer, but it's been granted considerable liberty and autonomy in order to facilitate
