Wizard School Roleplay?
So, lately I've been craving a roleplay with somewhat of an emphasis on magic, and I've come up with two ideas: 1) a roleplay that takes place in the universe of Harry Potter, whether in Hogwarts or a different school, and 2) a roleplay based very loosely on The Elder Scrolls and Dungeons and Dragons magic systems, different schools of spells that people specialize in. I'm currently in the process of finalizing some plot ideas for each of them, but I thought that I'd see if anyone is interested before I post a gigantic wall of text that no one wants to read, as I tend to be pretty detailed when I create a roleplay. It's just who I am. :P
Just some things to note:
1) I am planning on having this be mid-casual, so proper spelling and grammar is expected. I'm more than happy to help someone learn some of the more complex nuances if they're interested though. ;)
2) I want this to last for a long time. I know that everyone feels more or less the same way when they start, but if you don't think that you can post at least twice a week, I don't think you should apply. Sorry, but I've had too many die because one or two people up and disappear.
3) While I'm open to suggestions, there are some things about the roleplay that I will not budge on, depending on which of the two ideas you guys decide upon. I had an issue with a previous roleplay where a bunch of people left because there was an even split in how people thought it should be done, regardless of what I decided.
So, with all that junk out of the way, feel free to post your vote and state your interest if you're, well, interested. :D I don't mind questions either, if you happen to have any of those at the moment. ;)
Interested, particularly in the second idea.
How many people were you thinking of recruiting?
Number 2, super interested! Is it a human only magic school?
If I can become involved with this, I would personally prefer the second proposed idea.
@Leo: It kind of depends. I mean, I have eight branches of magic for them right now, so it depends on how I decided to set up the branches. For example, whether or not to allow a student to have access to two of the schools or just one. The best answer would be 4-8 characters if that helps at all. :D
@Taro: No, other races will be involved as well. Normal fantasy stuff: elves, gnomes, dwarves if anyone is interested. :P

@LJComics: Thanks for your interest! :D So far, that seems to be the most popular.
I have to go to bed now, but I'll check this in the morning and see which one is the 'winner' so that I can flesh it out a little more throughout the day. ;)
Winner is in quotes because I wouldn't actually mind doing both if enough people are also interested in the first idea. :3
If you'd like, I could assist in designing the magic system.
I typically resort to using ten Arcana: Force, Prime, Life, Spirit, Time, Fate, Space, Mind, Matter and Death.
@LJComics: While I appreciate the offer, I already have quite the number of schools picked out. ;) I just need to settle on the parameters and limitations of them is all.
And, idea numero dos is the winner, so I'll get some information posted on that this afternoon after school lets out. :D Background, brief plot synopsis, and an in-depth description of the magic. :3
^love this system^ I'm definitely interested and would love to sling spells with everyone.

So far, I have a total of twelve schools of magic planned out, four of which will be dark by nature. Because I'll be heading the antagonist(s), the four dark ones are relatively unimportant, though you may have your character go through a period where they seriously contemplate using one of them for the greater good. ;) I would love to see some character development like that.
I'm not going to go through the twelve schools of magic yet because I kind of want it to be a surprise. I am done with three of them already, so it shouldn't actually take me all that long to get the remaining nine, plus the races, done. :D I just thought I'd give you an update and give you a teaser. :P
Oh lovely, morally linear "evil" schools of magic that are not to be used by the players. Sigh.
