Revival for an old idea.
I started this RP on another site back in early 2012 and wanted to give it another go.
On the edge of not so note worthy city there lies a store, crossroads,an establishment that caters to its otaku customers base needs. It recieves a steady flow of Manga and various accessories affiliated with their protagonist; Even though the store captures any real attention from the public there are the few who have found there way in and made the store their second home. Everyone who visits Animania knows one another and are very good friends who keep in touch through their mutual interest and love for the japanese literature; The store has housed many theoretical discussions centered around the questions, "What if you were inside an anime?" and "What if hollows, flame hazes, saiyans, or ayakashi's existed?" It is a well nown fact almost everyone who has an interest in anime has had the fantasy of replacing their favorite protagonist and having their powers, but what if this fantasy came true? Does pretending to take part in these imaginary universes even compare to actually being there? Would the day dreamer appreciate the chance they have been given? Anyone in their right mind would say mangas are purely fictitious and are the dreams of great minds; There is no plausible way for anyone to make contact with this non-existant world, but that is to say there is way and it is highly implausible.
The story starts inside the crossroads, it is the stores fifth anniversary and to commemorate it the owner is giving his residents a free copy of an unknown manga that was never released publicly. The manga reads AniMania top center, the cover art is somewhat dreary depicting the protagonist of other mangas in sad and defeated poses, it is especially thick for a volume one, and emits an eerie vibe; Upon opening the paper back you take notice that the first page is a full body drawing of a group of people who fit the evil antagonist organization sterotype with the phrase "The Unnatural Balance" beside them, you flip the page to find second and third pages hold a total of fifteen panels each one depicting a protagonist from a different manga being defeated and some even killed. You hear mixed reviews from your peers, some talking about why they now understood why it was never released and others find quite interesting and continue to read on, you continue on and see that the setting has changed to a more urban area and has settled on a building with a large sign on above the door that read "Crossroads", it is remarkably similar in design to the bookstore you are currently in. You go on to see that you are taken inside the store, it has the same layout and design as CR and even shows a large group near the counter and a few individuals standing by themselves reading a manga; One of your peers calls out to the owner, "Hey Anthony! Did you make this man? These characters look just like me, Justin, April, and everyone else...", upon flipping through the next four pages you notice he is right. Everyone in the store at that moment including yourself is depicted in the manga doing exactly the same task as you, you question if this was never published for copy right issues or because of some other reason.
Being the curious type you continue to read on and come across a rather interesting series of panels, starting with the paperbacks beginning to glow, their readers begin to fall to the ground unconscious as the store lights up and then goes dark, two of the characters from the first page walks through the front door and stands in the now empty store and one pulls a cell phone out his pocket, dials a number and then says, "Phase one complete sir." He ends the call, gives a nod to the female behind him, and then they both disappear as indicted by their characters being replaced by a series of lines indicating high speed movement. You look up at your peers when you finish going through the panels, they are all just as confused as you are, then you begin to speak and just then a bright flash of light appears emanating from the paperback just like you previously read; Your vision becomes blurred and you feel light headed, looking around you notice others have already fallen flat, falling to your knees you take one last look around seeing two people standing at the entrance to the store, they are both wearing smiles that shake you to your very core, and before you know it everything becomes white and then fades to black.
The basic premise is that you are sucked into the manga (duh) and are given a role within whatever story they find themselves in. As far as restrictions for what manga titles are allowed, there are none. We can do Shakugan no Shana, Ao no Exorcist, Bleach, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, ect. Furthermore as they explore and clear these stories they will gain powers relevant to the manga which can later be used in other titles.
id be intrested. kinda remind me of kingdom hearts a bit with the cameos
