I don't think I need to put this here...
Basically, for anyone reading: This is almost going to be like One Piece in space apparently.. With Sci-Fi/fantasy elements from.. well, anything that comes to mind that could make this story more interesting. We build up a crew from scratch, delve into each character's past and it's just.. that.
This is the story of the Dragon Heart Space Pirates. Not the most organized pirate crew, but not necessarily evil or wicked either. If anybody had any sense, they'd call them a bunch of kids with a stolen Federation prototype space ship - but 'Pirates' seems to fit, given most/all of the crew are wanted criminals according to the Federation's law enforcement and military.. as fair as that gets.

Our story begins on a dangerous world. This world on the verge of revolution against the United Earth Federation's rule here, which they certainly did not ask for. It's been like this for a while - the Federation just crossing neutral/independent space and taking what they want without any questions asked, because nobody wants to contend with their supermassive military force. After the Federation arrived here on Terra, they began capturing any criminal elements who hadn't realized the Feds were around until it was too late. In the case of the Dragon Heart Pirates, they know of the Federation's presence and are preparing to leave, but are tying up a few loose ends first such as supply requisitions etc, you get the idea. As the day rolls to an end and the cargo loading is almost finished, the Feddies put on a show for all the spaceport's residents to see: executions. Terran rebels, pirates, usual scum - not one of them was going to be spared.
But on a lighter note, the Feds seem to have no idea that the Black Talon and it's so far small crew are in town. Which is all good!
Location: Mickey's Bar, Spaceport District, Terran Capital City, Planet Terra
"Luna, I already told you! You're not allowed to drink - you're fifteen for christ sakes," Aegis chuckled, gently patting a small black haired girl's head a few times. Guzzling down half a pint of rum in one go, he looked to Hunter, his Captain, "Unless of course you feel differently on the matter."
Luna struggled but climbed up onto one of the bar stools and looked up at Hunter, all puppy-eyes about it, "I just wanna know what it tastes like... Honest." She said, cupping her hands as if begging for something. Not that she realized what the two were drinking was quite spicy, and she would probably hate it... But Luna was new to (nearly) everything in the world!
The TV flicked on in the corner without the bartender's action, causing him to glance up at the static, but he shrugged it off. Why exactly there was just static and no channel, wasn't really a concern of his at the time. Soon enough though, it changed from static into a blue background with a silver eagle emblem over it. Federal media... Great...
Hunter sighed, but laughed a bit after a brief silence. "You know what? Fine." He said handing the young girl a glass. "But. Don't complain when we say I told ya so." He added with a discreet glance and smirk at Aegis. The fact of the matter was he knew she wouldn't like it, but you had to experience things before you could really know what you did and didn't like. And being so sheltered he'd promised her to let her try a bunch of new things within reason.
Still as hunter sat there he sighed. "Hey Aegis. Maybe we shouldn't be in such a hurry to leave. I mean... You know... This crap is starting to show up more often. And I'm feeling kind of bad." He said referring to the Federal media. Among other influences of the Federation it bwas an annoyance he hated to bear. He'd honestly even prefer to watch reality TV as opposed to that crap. But with there man power as it was they couldn't possibly defeat the federation forces stationed on this planet themselves. Sure they could handle a lot of them, but all? No way.
This was to be expected of Hunter though. He hated the Federation. he would never let his hate cloud his better judgement, but sometimes right was right. They needed to be brought done a peg or two. He knew that. Aegis knew that. Even Luna knew that. But hunter hadn't taught her enough about battle to really want her fight. He sighed. Aegis would surely begin his little rant about how Hunter should hold off on fighting until they had more members. After all. Thy had almost died last time. Luckily he was able to blow the engine on the federation ship that would have followed them just before they took off and left the planet they were on.
"Yeah, no. We're not going to fuck with the Feddies, at least not a force this big... They seem real intent on sending a message of sorts to the world." Aegis sighed heavily, as he knew what was about to play on the TV. And sure enough, it went live straight to the executions.
"These men and women gathered here are all traitors to the UEF's cause. They would prefer to barbarically fight us instead of allowing humanity to further itself, united under one banner, a STRONG banner, that is the Federation! Pirates, thieves and the like are here today too. We are not only uniting the galaxy, but cleansing it! Let the following executions remind the galaxy of this: we are doing this for the people, for hope and for peace." The screen panned to the first sentenced man, a pirate, whom they put on a wall to soon be gunned down by a firing squad.
Luna put her hands over her ears and shoved her eyes into Hunter's shoulder, ignoring what was about to happen. Harsh world or no, she didn't want to see it.
Aegis was watching that pirate about to be shot. There was nothing they could do... Well, nothing that involved them dying too with the sheer amount of Fed forces garrisoned in Terra's Capital.
"Are we all ready?" A man asked in a dark room overlooking the execution site.
"Yeah." "Mhm." "Copy." A few younger voices sounded calmly.
"Good. As soon as they've made their first kill of the day, we'll move to save our comrades from their clutches. Karen, you're on sniping duty. You'll remain here and start thinning out the enemy. Carlos, you use your bag of gadgets to slow their reinforcements down - anybody with a Feddie ID tag dies."
"Got it." "Sure, Sir."
"You're with me. We'll free the prisoners, Terran and criminal alike. And then we'll get to the docks - you two following. Good? ...Let's move out."
As Hunter watched he grit his teeth. "Aegis. We have to do something." He said angrily. His teeth began to sharpen and his eyes began slit like a dragon's. They were filled with rage. He wanted to do something. Having to sit still while this went down was unbearable. "I'm sure if we worked together we could manage something. Anything. Your strategies and my strength and power. We can do it for sure." He said trying to say anything that might get Aegis to accept. Although unless his first mate physically stopped him, Crimson would be on his way out the door any moment.
Aegis sighed, "...If you really, really want to - I can't go against it. You're the Captain for a reason," Aegis admitted. Honestly, he hadn't gotten into a fight for a while, and taking out a bunch of patriotic scumbags was perfect for target practice.
Luna's eyes edged towards the TV screen in curiosity, just as the first pirate was about to be executed... But as the sword was swung, the weapon was blasted out of the soldier's hand, a second round being planted in the executioner's stupid head! It almost felt relieving to watch... Even if she did see death, it was only of a man willing to kill unjustly, without a real cause. "Hunter, are we going too?!" She asked excitedly. Danger obviously didn't seem to register in the kid's mind.
"Target down!" Karen raised her voice into the microphone on her headset, "Engaging enemy primary forces."
"Here goes. Maiya, you cover me while I get these prisoners free!" The Terran soldier said, as he along with a teenaged girl with emerald-coloured eyes and long blue hair, dropped onto the execution stand like their legs wouldn't break, in full view of the panicking TV crew's camera. That girl started taking out nearby Feddie troops with her handgun using a great combination of precision and speed. The man she was protecting freed the surprised pirate, and then moved on to the others.
The young man, Carlos, threw three spherical devices at the ground near to Maiya, which quickly transformed into small machine gun turrets. These people all wore navy blue attire/armour, as a symbol that would show they were people of this planet - Terran humans.
Crimson was just about ready to jump and run off, but before he could it seemed as though somebody was already stopping the execution. He didn't know anything about them and he wasn't sure if they could do it themselves. Then he looked at Luna. Seeing the excitement of his precious nakama and student he couldn't help but smirk. "Damn straight we're going." He said as he turned of his seat and ran off. "Try to keep up you two!" He shouted hoping he could help. He had no idea if the rebels could really do it or not, but with them there the odds of him and his small crew being of some use was a lot better than if they'd gone by themselves.
"But I can't run that fast..." Luna said as Hunter began sprinting off to fight those stupid Feddie guys. Aegis lifted her up onto his shoulders and started dashing after the Captain, "You can cast fire from up there. Do us proud, kiddo." He laughed as if it were some kind of fun activity... Well it was, there was just the slight chance that a Federal soldier might get lucky. Of course, they'd have to survive long enough to get that chance!
"Shit... Not good!" Maiya's earpiece sounded, causing her to gasp slightly, taking cover away from the fighting for a moment.
"Karen? What is it?" The team leader asked with concern.
"They're inside the building-! Agh!" The sniper could be heard firing rapidly, and a mass of gunfire eventually put the young woman down.
"Bastards! They're already overrunning us... Colonel, should I do THAT right now!?" Carlos shouted above the gunfire. On his end of the operation it was going well, but one of his three auto-turrets was destroyed.
"Fucking right! Do it, and then we'll retreat with what prisoners we've saved!" The Colonel shouted back.
Maiya knew exactly what 'that' meant... She put her hands over her ears and leaned against the rubble she was hiding near.
A Federation battleship that was currently on high alert suddenly exploded in four different locations, and in the following five seconds, more explosions erupted all over it, until one final explosion took place, which was the ship's core being destroyed. The shockwave sent forth from the core's explosion swept dust, broken glass and fragments of molten metal throughout the execution site and all around the Federation-controlled shipyards.
"Colonel, it worked!" Carlos yelled happily, but moments later his cheer was replaced with static, an orchestra of rocket strikes presumably taking him out along with his machines.
"Damn it... Maiya, it's only us now. I'm freeing the last of the-- How the hell did they get here so fast? Everybody retreat! Get ba-argh!" The Colonel's comm line was suddenly down too. And that left only one of the original four Terran rebels alive. All of the prisoners were probably getting gunned down too. Without waiting any longer, Maiya got to her feet and ran for the independent docks. Surely somebody down there had an escape planned - because the Federation wasn't going to take the destruction of a battleship lightly. Everybody would eventually pay the price.
"There's one! Squad, open fire!" A voice from within the clearing dust screamed, causing Maiya to suddenly stop running down the street and ram the nearest door to her down, shoulder-first. It seemed there wasn't any hope at all now... The soldiers entered the front and back doors, immediately trapping the Rebel. But Maiya wasn't going out like that... As they all came into her line of sight, she stopped in one room and took a deep breath before taking them out with amazing pace. You'd expect her to just die there, but now she was using some other power, throwing people around without even touching them with one hand and shooting the hell out of them with the gun in the other hand.
