Pokemon Adventure IC
Kanto. It is known that at least 150 different kinds of pokemon live in the region.
On this day, in Pallet Town, a group of trainers, both new and old set out on a journey together. With different goals in mind, only time will tell what kind of adventures they'll have.
Professor Oak's Lab.
“Here it is professor, Elm's most recent research.” Sevatar put the cardboard box on the desk in the lab and turned to face the professor. “This should help you finish the updated pokedex. Oh, and another thing. Elm wanted me to show you this.” He took a Pokeball from his belt. “Cherie, come on out.” The Pokeball opened, and there, in front of Sevatar, stood a golden Charmander.
“Oh, this is quite remarkable. I've seen many Charmander before, but none with that color.” Oak exclaimed, checking Cherie from every angle. “You've got many interesting pokemon, young man.”
Taking two other pokeballs from his belt, Sevatar walked over to another table, where his Cyndaquil and Larvitar sat, and recalled them. “Thank you Professor. It all comes from-” He started, but was interrupted by a knock on the door. “Ahh, that must be one of the new trainers.” Oak proclaimed and headed for the door, as Sevatar recalled Cherie.
(Cue the first person)
Shizue stands in front of a building, staring at the sign on the map that shows the location of professor Oak's laboratory. "It took us quite long to find it, nee Sqirtle. But, it looks like we're finally here!" she says enthusiastically, petting Squirtle's head. 'Uhh, I am a bit nervous, though...'
Taking a deep breath Shizue knocks on the door, and in a few seconds door opens and she sees professor Oak. "...Um, sorry for my intrusion..."
After receiving professor’s welcome and approval to enter, she walks in and Squirtle follows her step. "Hello. My name is Shizue, and this is my Squirtle" she says bowing. "I'm coming from a suburb village of the Cherrygrove city." She takes a quick glance around the place and notices the presence of a boy, who was nearly her age, and bows lightly to him too, then continues "I... I'm not a pokemon trainer and I know only few about it. But I'd really love to become one, and that's why I came here. I promise I'll try my best to learn quickly, and I'll work hard, so... so please Sir, teach me the way to become a pokemon trainer!" she bows deeply, so does her little friend Squirtle. As she straightens up, she notices professor’s warm smile, as he offers her to take a sit. She takes her bag off, puts it next to the chair and sits, but just then she realizes that she might have actually disrupted the conversation between him and the young boy who stood there silently. “Oh, sorry, how rude of me... If you have some business at the moment I can come later...” she anxiously reaches for the bag, but professor stops her, telling her that she might have come just at the right moment. He explains her then that this boy is a great pokemon trainer who can actually help her more than he himself. “Oh, I see, thank you Sir. And...” she turns to the boy “it’s a pleasure to meet you!” says Shizue, smiling politely.
Observing the new arrival with a light smile, Sevatar gave a quick bow when she noticed him, then listened in on their conversation. So, she wants to become a trainer? he thought, observing her. She looked slightly younger than him, but determined. She might make a great trainer. He then looked at her Squirtle. It looked healthy and strong, so he figured she could take care of her Pokemon. When Oak suggested he should teach her to become a trainer, he chuckled lightly and walked over to her. “He is making me sound better than I am.” Sevatar said and shook Shizue's hand. “I am Sevatar of New Bark Town. Nice to meet you.”
"Food and water?"
"Would rather forget my own left arm."
"What do you think I'm carrying all the stuff in?"
A person passing through could easily overhear the conversation going on between Jonathan and his parents, and the three of them stood at the front door of their house as they went through the final check list.
"Alright then son," Jonathan's father said, a beaming grin on his face "your mother and I have made arrangements with Oak for you to get your started. Now it's all up to you."
"Thanks Dad," Jonathan said, barely containing his excitement "I'll try not to get lost on the way to the lab." Before he ran off towards the largest building in town, Jonathan looked at his mother, whom had been silent throughout the whole exchange. She had her head tilted down and she refused to meet his or his father's eyes, and she was visibly trembling.
"Just...Come back in one piece, okay?" She said shakily.
"I will Mom," Jonathan said with a grin "besides, it's just like they always say on television: 'All boys have to leave home someday.'" Before Jonathan could say anymore, his mother threw her arms around his neck, which Jonathan returned whole heartidly. They stayed like that for a few minuets before she finally let go, though she seemed to be smiling for the first time today.
"Well, I guess I'm off," Jonathan said, starting down the road "I'll make sure to write when I get to Viridian!"
"Good luck Son," Jonathan's father called out, waving and holding Jonathan's mother as he did "make us proud!"
Jonathan was practically beaming as he headed down the trail for Professor Oak's lab. It had taken nine long years for his mother to get over her fear of Pokemon, but now his time had finally come and he was well on his way to becoming a Pokemon trainer.
'Just remember, you signed up for this, so no whining' He thought to himself, mentally quoting his father's words on his sixteenth birthday just a few short days ago. He would take those words to heart.
It didn't take long to reach the laboratory. In his excitement, he briefly forgot his manors, and without knocking he flung the door open to the lab.
"Hey professor, I'm here for-" He cut himself off when he saw the professor with a boy and a girl, both around his age, clearly in the middle of a conversation. "Is this a bad time?" Jonathan asked sheepishly.
“Well, if professor says you are a great trainer, I will definitely trust his words.” She says as they shake hands, and professor nods to confirm her words. Shizue then takes another one glance around the place, and a surprised expression appears on her face as she notices a golden Charmander “Woaahhh, beautiful... Is that your Pokemon, Sevatar?!” In that moment, the door suddenly opens and a boy enters the laboratory. ‘Hmm, another one trainer it seems...’ Shizue thinks observing the boy who is being told by professor to come in. ‘It looks like we’ll meet many of them today, aren’t we lucky Squirtle’ she winks to her Pokemon, then waves to the boy “Um, hello!”
It was early in the morning and young Yuki was up, barely stopping herself from running all over the house and waking up her sisters. Now, waking up early was a new experience for herself, usually she would just sleep till noon. But today was different, today her sisters will be saying goodbye for the first time in their lives.
“Yuki, do you have everything?” ask one of her sisters, while the other ones checked her bag, and make sure she had everything.
“I’m fine, can everyone stop touching my stuff, and I’m going to be late for meeting” I said, looking at my sisters, taking up my bag.
“Wait…there is one more thing, we would like to give to you” one of my sisters said, holding one of her pokeballs. Each of my sisters, were holding a pokeball in their hands.
“We would like to give you one of our Pokemon, to help you out and for luck, and something to remember as by” said the oldest sister out of the group.
“Thank you, I’m going to miss you guys!” I said crying a little and hugging my sisters, while Mienshao looked at us.
“Come Mienshao, we don’t want to be late” I said, letting go of my sisters, and started to walk to Professor Oaks Place. I opened the door to Professor Oaks Place, looked around and saw 2 boys and one girl around my age.
"Hello, Im Yuki" I said, while moving closer to my Pokémon Meinshao.
“Oh no, not at all.” Oak said, turning and walking over to the new arrival. “You must be Jonathan, right? Your parents told me you plan on becoming a trainer, and have asked for my help. So, lets get you started.” He said and started walking over to the circular pokeball holder. “Do you know which pokemon you want to start with?” He asked.
“Yeah, it is. Her name is Cherie.” Sevatar said and walked over to Cherie and patted her head. Then he called her back into her ball. He waved at the new trainer, then turned his attention to Shizue again. “Shizue was it? I am guessing you know the basics of battling, catching and training your pokemon, right?” he asked smiling.
Jonathan was visibly trembling at this point. His first Pokemon within his grasp, all he had to do was decide which one it would be.
'Well I think I can rule out Charmander right off the bat,' He thought to himself 'I may want a challenge, but I'm not all that big on being decimated at the first two gyms.'
That left either Bulbasaur or Squirtle. Now, originally he was going to grab a Squirtle, as it would provide a challenge for him while not being overtly hard to fight with. But then he got a look at the boy and girl talking behind him. The boy had a Charmander (a shiny one at that, he noted jealously) and the girl had a Squirtle. Maybe it was a sign that he should complete the trifecta of Kanto starters?
It may have sounded silly to anyone else, but Jonathan was a superstitious teenager, and with that his mind was made up. "I think I'd like to start with a Bulbasaur sir." He said confidently.
Yuki looked over at the young boy, who recalled his Pokémon.
"Wow, its a Golden Charmander! Pretty!" I thought to myself
I walked over to the young boy named Sevatar.
"Wow, you have a very pretty Pokémon" I said, looking at the pokeball, while Meinshao stood by my side.
"Well..." Shizue scratches her head "I know the basics from what I've read, not from my own experience." She stares at the floor feeling a bit awkward knowing she is the only one who is completely inexperienced here. "I found this Squirtle two years ago injured, and we got really close since I took care of him... But I'm not his master, actually. And we never fought, so..." the door opens again and this time a girl appears followed by a Pokemon.
