Science fiction/galaxy university RP - IC
“A warm welcome to all the students!” A rather obese looking fellow spoke, dressed in a dark, classic suit. He stood in the middle of the patio waving with his stubby little arms. His thick moustache curled upwards as he shouted through the micro to excite the new students. The whole patio, having a see-through ceiling that cut them all off from the cold wind, was filled with students from all over the galaxy. Some eagerly to move into their dorm room, yet others bored/annoyed as school had started again after a long and warm summer.“If you look upon your application card of our Galaxy University of Wonders then you’ll find your class, dorm and student number. Please, turn around the card to reveal the holographic map to get you anywhere, anytime!" His amusing voice was accompanied by a lovely classic tune playing on the background. “Please, look around, and remember: First introduction is tonight at 4PM at the Grande Ballroom on floor 7 of the main building!” With that the man clapped into his hands, giving the whole crowd a bow and left the small stage. The students were free to explore the university to their liking!
Heavily pushing and shouting overwhelmed April for a moment. Most of the students dragged along a few of their bags, together with their parents or some of their elder friends that also attended the university. Silently, and trying to avoid most of the excitement, she made her way over to the other side of the patio. Her card was hanging around her neck, dangling through her long, pink hair. Putting her heavy bag onto the concrete floor right in front of the main building, her fingers grabbed tightly around the card to activate the map. A light see-through blue holographic map surrounded her sight for a moment, having a dark green dot showing her where she was right now. “And I need to be..” Earlier today she had written her dorm room onto her wrist with a pen, but frowned for a moment when looking down. The numbers had lightly melted off her skin, making it look like 468, but also like 589. “Just my luck..” She mumbled when picked up her bag from the ground, agreeing with herself she’d take the first number.
Walking through the main hall, her mood lightened up a bit: The whole hall was decorated with soft LED lamps lightly flickering and the whole felt comfortable. The ground was made out of a shiny metal, but the polish made the whole thing look fancy. Here and there, a few elder students passed by to greet the new ones, avoiding April most of the time. That was probably because she was facing the ground, hiding behind her long hair that hung in front of her eyes. Yet, she should see cleaning robots walking by at a low speed, dragging several laundry bags along.
Finally, arriving at block B, April stood in front of what most likely would be her dorm. Sliding her card through the detector, the door opened up showing off her empty, shared room. To her greatest joy there was no sign of her roommate, which meant April could pick which bed she wanted. The room itself had one entire wall being window, looking down upon the university's garden and a few of the sport facilities. All of them were covered with see-through glass ceilings. There were two fairly large beds, hovering above the ground for about a meter or two. Underneath it, there was a desk with all the needed facilities to plug in their technology. As for the bathroom, there was only one. A fairly standard bathroom, though with two sinks.
With a deep sigh, her bags got thrown next to her desk, and she climbed upon the ladder that led up to her bed. Dimmed LED lamps were attached to her ceiling to provide the students for some reading light. “University, this should be fun, right?”
