New York's Plum Island is a level-4 bioresearch facility.Yet, what exactly is going on there? This island has been called the "Monster Island" for all the bioresearch going on with animals, and even deadly human diseases. Homeland Security has said it is a safe site to practice all the unethical research going on. The government will hide the fact they are practicing such nasty research. As a worker on the island you have to have a medical clearance, background clearance, and have a top secret clearance to work here. This place can be view as another Area 51. No civilians are about near the island, have any access to the research going on, or have knowledge of this island. If you take a look at this island, this Plum Island is not on most maps. Yet it will show up on some.
Many diseases have broken out on the island, which left one building abandoned. Many mysterious animals have wasted up on the New York shore lines, and any believe humans are tested at this site too. None can be curtain, excepted for the one's who work on the island.
Recently, a new life form (virus) has been found. Scientist have called it the "Fourth Domain of Life". The newfound genus Pandoravirus dwarfs other viruses. The pandoravirus is different. The virus reproduces in a curious fashion. Most viruses start a new cell by building an empty "box" and filling it up with DNA over time. But curiously, pandoraviruses do both of these processes at the same time in a process the team calls "knitting". This which causes scientist to question viruses. There is no cure of this, and they aren't sure how harmful pandoraviruses are. With this question in mind, the virus was sent to Plum Island and was asked to research what this new life form is and is it harmful to humans.
Dr. Anna Richard looked at her computer for a moment, hearing the male voice notify her of the incoming email. She sipped on her fresh coffee and pulled up the email. "Fourth Domain of Life" read in the subject line. She clicked on the email and read the contents of it. The email explained that a new virus was found, and it needed be tested on. Dr. Miles trusted the facility to test the virus properly, and understand the life form. The virus was already on it's way to the facility and would be there within a few hours. Anna printed her email out, including the picture of it and placed it on top of her desk. She sat back and looked around the room. She got up from her desk and began to make her way into one of the labs. She smiled and tossed the paperwork onto one of the tables. "Hey guys, I have something new for us to look into." She said. Her hole team had been waiting for something huge to come in, and this was there chance.
"It's called the Fourth Domain of Life. It's a virus, and it's nothing like we will ever see before." She said softly. "We need to get prepped for this. We don't know what we are dealing with, or how serious this can be. So please be careful. The virus will be here shortly. Who would like to be the one to pick it up from when it comes in?" She said.
(OOC: Sorry my part is short, I wasn't to sure about your character or anything.)
"Guess it'll be me again" pushing the paperwork on his desk into one corner, he span round on his chair, going limp on seeing the new pile. "And I just finished the last batch as well...Damn the sods up their must hate us" yawning, he leaned back in his seat, looking up towards Anna as he rummaged through his pockets. "So, what we got this time?" he was fairly new to the island, only being their for around four weeks so far, and been instantly pushed into paper duty. His desk was fairly barren, covered in paper work, a small space cleared for a pencil holder, preferring to do his work by hand rather then use one of the computers. Rubbing his eyes, he tried to recall her name, though he'd always been terrible with them, but thankfully most of the time he just had to keep quiet until someone else said their name.
