Dr. Roberts was an outstanding microbiologist. Her research was recognized when she was accepted to work at Plum Island. Her dreams were about to turn into her worse nightmares. In recent years, she was doing a lot of research on the Fourth Domain of Life. She had submitted multiple research papers on the theory of the pandoravirus. Her theories were always turned down, yet the same theories would be used by someone else. Not getting recognized for her interest in wanting to be part of the team for the research, she soon gave up. She continued to work for Plum Island, working with different viruses. She was trying to find the cure to kill these nasty viruses.
After many years of working on this type of research, she finally received the email she was always looking forward too:
Dr. Anna Roberts,
Good afternoon, after many years of doing my research, I have been looking for someone to take this operation over. I will be retiring in a few short months, and I noticed you have potential to get this research done. I have seen your research papers, and I think you are perfect for this research. Please be advise that your facility needs to made some minor changes for this type of operation. You will also have to put together a small team.
All the research is being sent your way. We still know little of the Pandoravirus. Please be advise to treat this virus as a deadly virus since the affects are still unknown. Your facility will receive the virus in a couple days. Please have one person ready to pick this virus up. It has to be put into a cold environment ASAP. The effects of the virus seems not to work, but won’t kill the virus.
Keep me updated on your findings and I have faith in you.
Daniel Leafe, M.D.
Anna was in shocked. Who in the world had faith that she would be the best fit for the job. She printed out a few copies of the email and highlighted a few key points. She pushed herself away from her desk and left her office. She had to start thinking about who would work closely with her. She had one person in mind. Dr. Eric Albert. He had been working with her for a while and was interested with the pandoravirus himself. Anna reached his office and knocked on his door. “Eric? I have something I need to show you!” she wanted to squeal, but waited for him to answer. "It's about the pandoravirus!"
