An Introduction to Mediocracy
I am new to this community but consider myself a seasoned writer and player. I wouldn't go so far as to say I am one of "advanced" players here, but I value creating, participating in, and reading compelling stories. Role play as a form of escapism and expression has always held a small, but vital portion of my life. I feel that through these stories, raw feelings, thoughts, and emotions can be expressed and shared in a public setting. It is a place like this that one can learn the merit of their work and give measure to their innermost qualities. This place is a playground of minds and I hope to eventually find this place a cozy paradise from the chaos of the daily grind.
I have role played since my early teens and had a knack for writing since I could put the pen to paper. I'm out of college now, and I sorely miss the years of passing around a spiral notebook - the ancient method of text-based role play. Those traditions are sadly dust in the winds of time. I primarily played stories of fantasy and adventure with a tasteful splash of romance and drama. Since then, I have desired to dabble in the genres of sci fi and realism. I am open to all avenues of writing from the darkest corners of the mind, to the care-free musings of harmless shenanigans. I take creativity and critique with open arms and approach all challenges with determination.
I hope to contribute in some mediocre way to this community and anxiously look forward to experiencing what everyone has to offer first hand. Feel free to ask me any questions to get to know me better. If you have advice or tips for a newcomer, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your time and interest.
