Information about your Keepers, Dungeons, minions and Constructs will be recorded here for reference. Please help by giving a brief description, no more than a few lines, of such things, or correcting any errors in the recording.
Irifiers: a world-weary Keeper who has suffered through three Ages cursed with the dual nature of darkness and light, thanks to the Antikeeper Arial. Currently has the body of a rather hefty black woman garbed in a very fine maroon and purple dress.
*Imp: 2'6"-tall pitch-black, scrawny bipeds with human eyes, elven ears, and Jack-O-Lantern mouths. Can polymorph their hands into hatchets, spades, pickaxes, and knives but are worthless combatants. Vulnerable to light.
*Night Crawler: lvl 1 creature. Low-set beasts about the size of a mature alligator with a lengthy body and six long, clawed limbs that can function as either legs or hands. Has velvety, smooth, dusky blackish-brown skin with intricate tattoos of light across its back, scythe-tipped tail, and shoulders that can be dimmed or brightened at will. Has a long maw with jaws that open sideways rather than vertically and four large light organs as eyes. Fast, agile, and vicious.
Geon: the collective of twelve golem-like creatures that can fuse together into up to twelve larger, strong shapes. A loyal and ancient Rogue Construct. Currently serves Ma'haan the Shaper.
Davy Jones: Nautical Keeper. Magic abilities are focused on ocean and weather related powers. Has a vast knowledge of all things nautical, yet has no knowledge of his past life. Believes identity as Davy Jones is not actually his. Avatar is human in captain's clothing.
*Imp: Davy Jones' imps have the overall shape and size of your stereotypical wingless imp, but their bodies are constructed from whatever oceanic biomass Jones has at hand at the time. As such, these imps are greatly varied and resemble Frankensteinian fish-creatures. They have no special powers other than that of being able to breathe underwater.
*Resurrected Sailor: Lvl 1 creature. Overall they are human, with a few key differences. Skin is dark. Teeth are sharp. Gills are present on the side of the neck. Feet are webbed. They are constructed from miscellaneous nautical biomass and one human soul, modified for loyalty to Jones. Of course, by containing a human soul, they aren't mindless slaves, but initiative and ease of creation should outweigh the risk of mutiny.
Torrens Igneus: Rogue Construct from the last Age on Outremear. A red human-proportioned demon who consumes heat, lives off heat and uses heat and fire as magic. Constantly emits intense heat. Is cunning and cruel. Serves Athinar.
Zadok: Anti-Keeper from Outremear. An angel who possesses powerful magic related to holy light and outer space and a high skill in unarmed combat. His body consists of a skin of neutronium encasing his soul and energy. Visible through his skin is an image of the stars. Capable of flight, personal gravity manipulation, feats of great speed and strength and the aforementioned magic.
Skree: Aurorus, an avian Keeper who lost all of his memories and much of his power during Outremar's final battle and the trip through the portal. Now, he possesses some basic instincts, some control over the wind, and the ability to switch from the form of a small bird into a great, harpy-like creature. Without any knowledge of how to be a Keeper or his past, but with his deep hatred of humans still present, Skree is essentially a rogue construct. Follows Davy Jones around.
Ma'haan the Shaper: A brutish, rash, and very physically powerful warmonger, even by the standards of Keepers. Ma'haan is not from Outremar, but was only a child when the Devourer warped him into a Keeper many centuries ago. As a result, he is impulsive, overconfident, arrogant, and a sore loser, despite being experienced in about everything when it comes to fighting and war. He is called the Shaper because of his ability to use fire magic to create armies of monstrous creatures out of ash, clay, and stone. Manipulative and cold even towards his own minions, Ma'haan fights just for the sake of fighting. His avatar is a tall stone/clay/ash humanoid.
The Ripper: The vengeful entity that was created when the being known as the Weaver was finally freed, the Ripper possesses an insatiable desire for destruction. His form is nothing more than a great ball of pure, chaotic magic. His ambitions and reasoning are unknown to everyone, making the Ripper a potential threat to Keepers, Antikeepers, and humans alike.
Athinar: A somewhat maniacal Keeper. Feeds off the souls of slain enemies. Magically oriented. Current avatar is a black-haired man with a long white coat. Claims to be best friends with Davy Jones, although Jones has no memory of this.
*Dungeon Heart: A giant, roiling sphere of condensed fiery energies, held together simply by Athinar's existence.
*Fire Imp: 7' 3", on fire, humanoid, very vulnerable to any attack, but extremely powerful in magical construction. Is good for blasting through rock and other strong material. Comprised of a skull with a slender wraith-like body of flame.
*Dusk Wolf: Lvl 1 creature. An average-sized girth and height for a wolf, but unnatural jet-black fur, glowing sickly-green eyes, and muscles that seem to almost be bursting out of their skin mark this as unnatural at first sight. If an observer didn't notice these tell-tale signs, the black smoke it exhales is a definite deciding factor to the idea that this wolf isn't all that it seems. The wolf has a slight weakness towards bright light and holy magicks. If the smoke is inhaled or ingested through an infected water source, the poison leaves the affected with little to no muscle and bone mass, and open for 'harvesting'. This disease can be avoided by avoiding any place where the wolf has been, but if spread at night, the smoke is nigh undetectable, except for a slight stench of bile and blood.
Lylith: Maestro of Discord. A Rogue Construct who has masterful control over sound. She has crimson wings, silver hair, a baton-like sword, and a musical voice and is dressed in a maestro's outfit.
Grandmaster Alvarith: Heroine. A brown-haired, tall warrior who is the leader of the Opus Fluvium Citadel. She is a competent fighter and leader, but her temper is a little shorter than most. She has access to many resources in Elysium, but these are limited to what is within the Citadel or Opus Fluvium. Her magical abilities are meager, and limited to basic protective spells. She has a special steel suit of armor which is runed around the edges. and a helmet of the same make. Her sword is adamant, but her shield is regular hardened steel. Her main vice is wrath, and is especially reckless when someone is threatening Opus Fluvium or the Citadel.
Kavel the Everlasting Golem: A keeper favouring stone and metal, he seems to never anger and is always calm, contributing to his name, golems never feeling rage or hate themselves, unable to be clouded by emotion. The everlasting part came from the immortality of stone and metal, for life will long fade away before he meets his demise. In fact a highly magical keeper, his form actually a ghostly humanoid body that can sprout binding chains, almost all of his magical ability used as he redirects it to keeping his 'shell' together.
*Stone Shapers: Kavel's form of imp, they are made from solid stone, making them extremely tough for imps, though their reflexes are absolutely awful, and they'll never hit anything in a fight. Kavel as their creator, they have inherited his affinity with stone and metal, able to pass through it as they merge with the stone, which comes in useful for mining, able to pull chunks off with ease. Appear as faceless squat humanoids which look a bit like dwarves.
*Stone footman: Lvl 1 creature. Humanoid statues, appearing to be covered in armour, wielding various weaponry, and around the same size as the average human. Tough, strong and slow, they are excellent for their purpose of guarding the pass into Kavel's fortress, speed not an essential when raining down crossbow bolts.
*Embers: Used as the cores for his golem like minions, these are the very hearts of his creations and the literal spark that gives them life. His stone shapers with only tiny sparks, the bare minimum to give it animation, where as a raging fire would be appropriate for a powerful construct.
Map of Elysium
We have coordinates, a scale and named landmarks. If you need to specify the exact location of something, such as your Dungeon or a small yet important city, use them.
Information about major landmarks will be recorded here, for consistency. This information is added to by your posts. So when you go somewhere new, if you could give a nice description that would be great.
Major cities range from 100,000 to 1,000,000 in population. Elysium has an overall population of 100,000,000. At least, until we kill them all.
Opes Fluvium: N6°E24° Tropical. Major city. Population 300,000. Major exports are sugar and spices. Very wealthy. Trade via river. Native magic is water and plant manipulation. Guards are lightly armoured, some with muskets. Notable class gap, with wealthy living in the inner walled portion of the city and the not wealthy living outside the walls in the outer city. High demand for manual labour.
Portus Cruor: N1°E30° Tropical. Major city. Set on a river delta next to the ocean. Bustling city with strong oceanic economy. Has a powerful navy and well-trained guard force. Crime, both organised and otherwise, is common here. Sailors, fishermen, merchants and other related trades make up a large portion of the population.
A thunderclap tears across the planet as the final seal on the Iocinor is broken, unleashing the Apocalypse. The Anti-Keepers have been defeated and the Harbingers, lead by the horsemen of the Apocalypse, hold supreme victory. But the celebrations are momentary, as they realise they must either escape this world or be torn apart with it.
Then, from the residual energy of the Iocinor, that artefact of immense power, a rift through space and time opens. A portal to another world. Keepers, Anti-Keepers and Rogue Constructs alike shed their physical forms in order to pass through it. The Void, the sub-dimension where the souls of slain Keepers reside, splits open and their souls rush in through the portal. Behind them the malevolent energy being called the Ripper expands to consume the dying universe, with no intent other than to destroy.
The ride through the portal is rough. Many Keepers lose their own essence and meld together with the essence of other Keepers and things, from Outremear or beyond. Those which do manage to maintain their prior form find they have lost most of their power in the journey and will have to start anew in whatever world the portal ends in.
After what may have been an eternity, or perhaps mere moments, the end of the portal is in sight. The void through which the Keepers were travelling stabilises to such an extent that they would be able to restore their physical forms before stepping through the portal into the new world beyond...
The city of Opes Fluvium sits on the fork of the Ruziti and Alira Rivers. Tropical humidity swamps the city and the landscape around it, which is home to 300 thousand people. Opes Fluvium has made a fortune on the export of locally grown sugar and spices. Many boats travel along the river between it and the nearest major city, Portus Cruor, which is downstream, and all the other towns along the two rivers.
The strong economy means many wealthy people inhabit this city, adorned in clothing containing rich dyes. Many lower class workers also inhabit the city, tasked with harvesting the sugar cane, spices and other crops such as rice around the area. The work is made all the more efficient by the magic wielded by some of the inhabitants. Many of the locals are capable of manipulating water and plants to varying degrees. Considering the size of the city, there are also many non-native inhabitants, some of which would have brought their own breeds of magic.
Then of course there is the security. The inner city, where most of the wealthy live, is walled with guards patrolling the walls. The walls are around one and a half stories tall and gated. There are also guards which wander the streets, ensuring the peace, order and law are upheld. They are all armed in light chain-mail armour with a short-sword. Some of them also have muskets, with ammo supplied via river trade. Most of the guards are also trained in combat magic. While the native population would use water and plant magic, a significant portion of the guards come from elsewhere, with their own magic. It should be noted that while many people on Elysium can perform magic, not all that many can effectively use it for fighting. That normally takes training and skill.
It was an ordinary day. Until, suddenly, a rift tore open in a large market place in the outer city. The magical elite of Opes Fluvium rushed over to the site of the incident, hoping to determine its cause and counter any harm. The merchants and civilians quickly started packing up and getting out of there as the guards cleared out the area. They had no clue what would come out of the portal. Would it be hostile or peaceful? Familiar or otherworldly? But the one thing they didn't expect?
Us, the Dungeon Keepers.
