Happily Never After
Once upon a time, there stood the kingdom of Drologia, a beautiful and colorful nation brought together beautifully by the sunshine above its heavens. The Queen of this kingdom was passing down her power, her throne, to her daughter, Christine Applerose. The woman stood five feet and five inches tall, black dark hair roamed her scalp, running down her shoulders and reaching her lower back. She usually wore dresses of many fantasies. The colorful clothing was opposite to her mothers, their personalities, also reversed. Christine’s mother, Gloria, was a dark natured woman. She had no husband, but did indeed gain her power from him. From what the kingdom people know, she killed the man, inheriting the throne to be her own, though many judged her success as a woman King. Due to her bold personality, the woman was able to excess her name through the entire realm, bringing fright and disbelief to those who heard the passed down rumors. But the woman was coming to her end. Immortality was unattainable even through magic. Apparent youth and dotage was possible, but only by appearance. Magic had its limit, and Gloria understood this. Like her mother, Christine was also taught the essence of magic at a very early age. She adapted to the darkness the magic held, but would re-frame from using this on the living. She was never power hungry, but would at times use her magic to get something she didn't always deserve or able to get. As the years went on, she became a true lady, a princess to the throne, having her story of grace become shared with all the peasants. Many viewed Christine as future hope for the next generation of children, hoping to see her marry a fair King and take over a throne as grand courtesy. But not every ending is fair and happy; some have their dark effigies that make them dark and disastrous. This is one of those tales. During this time, there were preparations for the announcement of the current Queen’s retirement, Gloria’s, and the pronounced embodiment of the new Queen, Christine. It was obvious that this change would help the Kingdom and its people gradually, changing the entire view of what some may call politics, government. The Queen was fifty-two, and her body was not what is used to be. Since her magic was now considered old, her power was limited. She could only hide her wrinkles, but not defend herself from sickness. She stood ill at an early age of a human life, but it was no longer valuable to her. Gloria had a plan to continue living though, but this required a sacrifice. She would implement her own soul into her daughter’s body, regaining that youth she so longed for, for twenty-seven long years. The crown was what was cursed. It held Gloria’s soul as she used magic to make her inanimate body place such delicacy on her daughter’s head, entering Christine’s body with her soul. The two made a pact to reframe from evil and use this curse as a blessing, allowing Drologia to become a saint of a kingdom, the Queen its god. The new myths were of goodness. Villagers saw the new Queen as an angel who was sent from the heavens to fade away the darkness, evil. Crime was no more; only richness filled the streets and gutters of this kingdom. Drologia was a safe haven for all. Emigration from all directions started, bringing new religions, riches, and many other aspects of faraway lands. But within six months, it all started to change. Finally, as Christine’s guard was down and believed her mother to be truly good, Gloria took that opportunity and eradicated her daughters soul from this world, sending it, not to heaven, not to hell, but to a far distant realm, allowing her to embody another being, one that may have not even been human, she did not care. All she wanted was that youth, that new young power. She wanted the trust of the people, the belief that she was somebody else. Her intention was different though, she was in search of true power, of her selfish happiness. With all the power she could conjure up, she used a magic spell known to prevent all of life from achieving their happily ever after, their true love. The curse caused a great deal of misery to all of Drologia’s people, preventing them from achieving their happily ever after. Gloria wanted everyone to be miserable forever and gain that lost pleasure for herself, obtaining pure satisfaction of power, showing that SHE was the almighty, a god to the humans. It is YOUR quest as a Fairy Tale character to fight the Queen and regain that happily ever after you've always been stripped of. This is no longer the Queen’s story, but your own. You shape your future, you search for your true love, do not allow a witch from getting in the way. Fight for what you want, fight together, do not fall to sorrow and pain, to misery and darkness. Good always defeats evil, it will always prosper in its own way, but that will never happen until you try. Stand up, rise against this evil and help everyone in Drologia to become that kingdom it was before this evil overtook your realm. If we win and the curse is broken, what you once had will be returned to you.
