Character Exchange Superhero Roleplay
All these years you've been picking your own characters. But nobody got to choose their own life.
"I want to be a cute red-head with a black-belt in five martial arts!" "You're a homely brunette with weak knees, but you can sing."
So you're going to make characters and PM them to me, then I'm going to swap them around. (This idea came from this roleplay, which was never created.) That way you get your life handed to you (with the power to change it, of course. Dye your hair red in the first post if you like.) without the GM having too much power.
Just plan character swapping isn't interesting enough for me, so they all get superpowers too. And these will be swapped to someone who didn't suggest them and didn't get the character suggested by the suggestor, so I get to swap more.
As to how these people got their powers...
The setting is a small town (so I don't have to keep track of a bunch of NPCs; think Mayberry) in the Mojave desert, near the Nevada Test Site. The radiation affected pregnant women, though they didn't know it. When they gave birth their babies seemed normal, but when the children hit puberty strange things happened to them, as if the new hormones activated a hidden element.
Since the last bombing was in September of 1992, None of our characters can have a birthday after June of 1993. So if it's set at the current time, the youngest would be 21. That's okay, but it would also be okay for it to be set as far back as the Bush years. Up to you.
I haven't decided that villain/catastrophic event/political dilemma/social unrest to use to push the story forward and am open to all suggestions.
Anyone like this concept?
