Two old friends. (OrnumDarkthrop X Light the Dark)
Relset paced restlessly in his command tent. It was always like this on the eve of the battle. So much tension and anxiety. There was always a strange feeling when someone pretended to be sleeping. That feeling was multiplied a thousandfold when it was an entire army staying quiet and pretending to sleep. That one little feeling was now overpowering and there was no way in hell that Relset would get even a wink of sleep. So instead he sighed and walked out of his tent and into the training field.
Whenever a battle in involved necromancers the night before was bound to be close to pitch black and it was now. Like all Paladins, Relset was an important in the army and answered to know one against his wishes but he wasn't the leader of the army by any means nor did he hold all the answers to why they were fighting but he knew the vile taint of necromancy from past experience. Besides, the darkness wasn't a huge deal to him. Sure he didn't exactly relish in it, no paladin did, but he was not called a warrior of blade and light for nothing. With only a flicker of will a sphere of light appeared above him as he made his way to the side field where training sessions were held.
Naturally there was nobody there at the moment. It was completely deserted but that meant little to him. Even when it came down to training in the day he rarely used other people. Paladins were just to good at fighting to even practice with people on the same side as they were. Instead most of them learned a small trick that had no limit of uses. It was called The Paladins Angel. It wasn't particularly straining on a paladin but it did limit them purely to combat. The ball of light sank to the ground before rising back up in a humanoid shape wielding a shield and sword made from pure light. Relset grinned and started the training with the copy made of light. It was his equal in every way so the training he got was guaranteed to be challenging. He trained throughout the night and soon it was dawn and time for the battle to begin.
