Haha, and I know the odds of them looking up what's going on in an international roleplaying site are pretty minimal, but I always thought pot culture was one of those things that really makes it hard to take the arguments for legalization seriously. I mean, when you have entire magazines about getting stoned and radio adds that are acted out by people pretending to be stoned, or the protests where everyone gets together to smoke in a park probably isn't earning anybody any favours. I mean, chances are if you saw somebody doing the same thing, only with beer or something, you'd probably have a hard time taking what they say seriously, too.
And this is coming from a guy who supports marijuana getting legalized, even if I don't smoke.
It doesn't matter how much you spout off the medical benefits of Cannabis, if you're wearing a shirt with a pot leaf on it, nobody is going to take you seriously.
This article might be of interest to you, my government's actually acknowledging marijuanna as legitimate medicine and doing a billion-dollar industry around large producers.
And you said it. I mean, if everyone's picture of a marijuana smoker was a well-groomed, successful person who was indistinguishable from the rest of society, I don't think there'd be nearly as much flak, but I think society's starting to go that way a bit more.
