Long ago, in a galaxy far far away...
It is the year 643 ABY and the Galaxy embroiled in war. The Galactic Federation Triumvirate of old has been broken as a new Sith Empire as they got a foothold in the Outer Rim. The Sith Empire tore apart the Fel Empire, eliminating key members of the Fel Bloodline so only remnants would remain, claiming that they were merely a cheap imitation of the real Empire. The Triumvirate, now unbalanced, renamed itself the Republic like that of old before the Galactic Empire. It's power dwindled little by little as it's new adversary that is the Sith Empire and though there is a cease fire, fear is being instilled in the heart of the people of the Republic.
The Jedi Order does what it can to aid the Republic but it suffers loss in the battles with the Empire. The Jedi try their best to teach and guide their padawans to the light but the rise of the Empire, more younglings turn to the Darkside and into the service of the Sith. They don't stop hoping though and stand strong for the people of the Republic as they are lead by the Jedi Council. They aid what Imperial Knights are still alive in their temple as well as other branches of the Jedi to help and win this war.
Mandolorians have already settled themselves and become a great military strength but a neutral one as well. Their leader, Mando'lore, keeps his people happy though he is plagued by news of deserters that raid innocents and become nothing more than mercenaries and pirate scum, very similar to Death Watch of old. His hopes are in a new order of force sensitive mandalorians that have trained themselves in the use of the force. Though their powers of the force are not on par that of a Jedi Knight, they are not something that anyone would want to be up against in a fire fight by the way they implement their force powers. Currently Mandalore and the Republic are in the midst of negotiation some sort of deal to aid the Republic in the war effort.
The criminal underground is more prosperous with the war as bounty hunters rake in credits, mercenaries lending their skills to each side if not both, assassins killing political figureheads and the one getting fatter and richer by it is the Great Arooga The Hutt, the most influential crime lord in the Outer Rim and possibly even stretching all the way to the Inner Rim. He wishes that this war will never end in his life time.
The galaxy is divided once more and again galactic unity and peace are foiled by war and chaos.
Gun Dancers are relatively new and in their earliest days denied having anything to do with the force and claimed it was simply natural ability. After some time the Jedi convinced them otherwise. They do not wear armour as such hampers their ability to feel the force and slows down their quick draw.
Traditionally every gun dancer is paired with a protector. Protectors are much more common then their gun dancer brothers and sisters. The gun dancer uses their abilities to protect their Protector from a distance, following him and using his heavy armour for cover in emergencies. Together, the lightly armoured gun dancer's maneuverability and flanking potential combined with the heavily armoured protector's superior firepower make them a dangerous team.
As cool as they are a gun dancer is no match for a jedi in single combat. A resourceful gun dancer might prevail if he or she uses terrain and environment to great advantage. A Jedi is weakest when his lightsaber is not yet lit for a gun dancer can draw and shoot faster than a light saber can ignite. A Jedi also cannot simply rip the blaster from a gun dancer's hand. Like all living beings, using the force against a living being is resisted by the natural force within a person and the gun dancer is significantly more in in tune with the force than a normal being.
Weapons: A gun dancer traditionally carries two pistols. One, is a heavy blaster with a lightsaber resistant bayonet. The second is a much lighter blaster meant for speed and accuracy.
Grenades: Gun Dancers often carry small grenades of various types, particularly flash grenades and smoke grenades, which they hurl into the air and then shoot with their blaster to detonate
Common Force Powers: Force Leap, Danger Sense, Force Guidance (left or right turn?... something tells me... RIGHT!)
Unique Force Powers:
--Force Draw: The Gun Dancer can draw his or her pistol from the holster with the aid of the force.
--Blaster Bending: The Gun Dancer by swinging his or her arm can "curve" a blaster bolt through the air.
--Blaster Bouncing: A Gun Dancer may bounce their bolt off of hard surfaces to perform trick shots and catch people unawares. It can also be used to keep a very small object away from or push it towards someone like a dropped lightsaber without harming the object.
--Blaster Deflection: A Gun Dancer can shoot down other blaster bolts with their own bolts. It's not quite as efficient as Jedi blocking with their blade and is absolutely useless against a repeating blaster with a high rate of fire
--Blind Fire: (Not exactly unique since Jedi do this with their blades) By attuning their senses to the force the Gun Dancer may use their blaster with surprising accuracy in situations where they are blinded or are in complete darkness.
Prohibited Force Powers:
--Telekinesis: The Jedi's most useful and powerful ability is denied the gun dancer. While gun dancers can resist a force push instinctively using their own innate force actually using it against an object or a person is beyond them.
--Precognition: No gun dancer has yet managed to join with the force so strongly.
--Force Lightning: Hah! I can haz me blasters n grenades! More seriously, controlling any sort of energy beyond the blaster bolt is beyond the gun dancer.
--Empathy and Telepathy: Gun Dancers are at heart warriors but some of the gun dancers are working on this ability

To those who aren't familiar with he year, this RP happens over 500 years after the latest occurance in the Star Wars Timeline or 643 years after the battle over Yavin.

The Star Wars Universe is absolutely huge and expansive. Don't be surprised if other players or I get things wrong or don't know about key events that may have happened in star wars novels.
Manufacturers started to recycle old weapon, armor and ship models in 450 ABY. You may use models from Old Republic era as well as the Clone Wars and so on.
This RP will be kept from clashing with the Canon of the star wars lore so no Canon characters will show up.
Force Sensitives will need training before using the force properly.
The Force will be like in the Original Trilogy with a mix of Knights of the Old Republic. No Force Unleashed. Subtle and not bombastic.

Thalen is an expert marksman and a a good brawler and grappler. He even fought a Jedi in unarmed combat and after getting his butt handed to him, he has a rough understanding of the Teräs Käsi style. He is a quick thinker and years in dangerous work has made him wary and a sharp eye for danger. He body has been trained to an athletic form, allowing him to be quick even in a full body armor. He is also good with weapon repair, novice level computer hacking, explosives and languages. He can talk and understand many languages, including an astromech's beeping. He has the perfect Sabaac face though prefers Pazaak. Mostly through necessity he also learned basic ship repair but it developed into an adept level skill. He can't exactly fix everything but he can at least jury rig it so it can hold up until gotten proper repair.

Thalen was born and raised in the harsh city world of Nar Shaddaa. The fumes of the clustered world is home to him. He was raised by his father, a crooked sabaac player and a courier for Arooga the Hutt. His father used him more than once for a job since a child could go through airducts and carry packages without being too suspected by guards or enforcers. Most of the packages were spice or components for spice making but he was lucky never to have gotten any broken containers to inhale the substance. He was usually around unsavory lot, smugglers, bounty hunters, spice traders and so on. He even met Arooga the Hutt when he was only 8 when his father had cheated in the wrong sabaac game. To pay up the debt his father had sold his son to Arooga the Hutt. Thalen hadn't exactly fought for his freedom since his father had not been the sort to help his kid to ride a swoop so to say.
Under the services of Arooga the Hutt, Thalen did what he mostly did before, running with packages. That was until Arooga was suggested to mold the young boy to a very profitable soldier. Arooga the Hutt proceeded to send Thalen to professional bounty hunters and agents that were in his bloated pockets and they trained the boy in various skills that their lot would need on a day to day basis. Before even puberty hit him he was already a deadly agent, his age often taking many by surprise. When he was 21 he payed for his own freedom but still did business with the Hutt but as a private contractor. He still payed his fee if in Hutt space though he has more than once eluded the big Hutt with the knowledge he gained from being under his rule. He has neither alliance to the Republic nor the Empire.
He was one day given a contract to off a Jedi and he gladly took it. He failed the hit however but the Jedi had let him live after a serious unarmed duel between the two. The jedi had used a style that Thalen had never seen and after running through his memories he developed a crude imitation of the Jedi martial art that is dwarfed by the real thing.

Name: Jaice Varien
Race/Ethnic: Near-Human/Corellian (See Jedi Master Fay for Species. (Isn't official and is just Near-Human)
Profession: Jedi Knight
Weapons: 2 lightsabers, a Primary standard one and a shoto. His primary hilt is wrapped in soft leather strip as sort of a cushion and as if to mold itself to his hand. The crystal for the primary lightsaber is a blue Krayt Dragon pearl. It took him months to properly fit it to his lightsaber.
His shoto lightsaber is of similar design as his primary, also wrapped in leather strip though the crystal used for the off-hand weapon is a green Dantari crystal
Both lightsabers are built to withstand water.
Equipment: Dark grey Jedi tunic. Usually doesn't wear robes other than on ceremonial occasions. Though on battle missions he sometimes wears a utility belt with various military gadgets standard to Republic troopers.
Other Items: None other than clothes.
Property: His home is the Jedi Temple though he wanders on a Jedi X-Wing fighter.
Skills: Teräs Käsi unarmed combat, Ataru lightsaber form and Shien/Djem Do. He knows Shii-Cho though doesn't use as much. He's an exceptional pilot but no Ace. Although a non-violent individual, he is an exceptional fighter and duelist.
Abilities: Jaice saw the importance of training in the force and tried to balance training in both the force and combat.
He is trained in Force speed, Force Sight, Force Stealth, Alchaka, Push and Pull, Tutaminis through concentration and other generic ones such as whisper, telepathy and empathy. He has shown signs of Force Vision such as Farsight though it seems he is unable to actually use it at will.
Personality: He is curious by nature, wanting to learn just about every aspect of the force as well as the possibility of the use of lightsabers. He is fascinated by Crystals and especially the rare ones such as the Kaiburr, probably the most powerful crystal for lightsabers. He is rather curious about the Dark Side though he cannot think of becoming a Sith(Rest is TBR)
Bio: Jaicen was born on Corellia and had a simple childhood compared to some. His force sensitivity was acute and was soon found by the Jedi and sent to the temple to be trained. As he grew up he became an exceptional duelist at a young age and easily took to the practical use of the Force though dragged in the academical ones but eventually gained knighthood.
He aided the Republic in skirmishes with the Sith though hadn't fought any in a duels. That may change soon however.
