"Item #16; Lovey Dovey Potion. Found in a small pink vial on the second row from the left for only rupees. Although claimed to get your true love to fall for you, results have been unsubstantiated and, quite frankly, unlikely to ever produce any such effects, as the official magical venders do not have any such potion. However, more evidence would be required before I can officially debunk it," a 16-year-old highschool freshman named Emiya wrote in her pink spiral notebook with her left hand, using her right to brush away the strands of green hair that had fallen in front of her golden eyes that were staring sleepily at the page in front of her. "I will have to make additional passes in front of men in order to better determine what effects, if any, me drinking the potion has had on them. Expect a follow up in the next New Rose Weekly School Report."
She laid down her mechanical pencil, glancing over her rough draft to make sure it was all in order to be published in the school magazine tomorrow. Her articles had gained some popularity over the weeks, so even though she wouldn't have ordinarily involved herself with things such as love potions, it would have been unwise to ignore the latest and possibly most popular item. She conveniently left out that she didn't have much chance from the get go for the potion to be success, but mentioning how she didn't really have a true love and hardly had any interaction at all with men, besides her two brothers, wasn't exactly something to blurt out over the newspaper even if she wasn't all that shy about truth telling. Being at an all girl school and living at the school dorms she wouldn't have another chance to test out the potion until she headed out, perhaps for dinner. She did have acquaintances with a couple of guys who worked at a fast food joint. Well, at least they recognized her and knew her favorite order, and they have had small talk on occasion. Perhaps that counted? Hmm...maybe she'd have to nonchalantly ask the other potion drinkers about their experiences to get a wider range of samples.
She glanced around at some of the other potion drinkers among other girls, most of whom were still laboring over the tests that Professor Kalaf had passed out. She was one of the first to send it back up to the teacher. She was confident in her book smarts, so all she had to do was make sure she didn't make any stupid mistakes and she did rather well. Due to some of them still taking tests she didn't want to risk getting herself and them in trouble by passing notes around to get them to meet up with her after class, so she had to remember to catch them before they left homeroom. After looking at them a bit she turned her attention to the clack. 8:27. Roughly 30 more minutes still remained. She laid her head softly down onto her desk and closed her eyes. It wouldn't hurt to fit some sleep in while nothing was going on. Her insomnia and late nights during scientific research had to have caught up to her eventually. She didn't know how much time had passed since she closed her eyes, or even if she drifted off to sleep, but she was jerked to attention when she felt someone or something caressing against her hair.
Her eyes flicked open and she turned around to see a short girl with a light brown bowl cut hairstyle, who occupied the desk behind her, was now leaning dramatically forward in her seat to try and sniff Emiya's hair. Emiya rubbed her eyes. Perhaps exhaustion was beginning to set in. Something certainly had to be a bit off for this shy girl to randomly sniff her hair during a test. The girl noticed Emiya's gaze and leaned back, blushing.
"Umm...sorry...I just couldn't help myself. You just looked so...adorable," she whispered while a massive blush formed on her face. Emiya didn't know how to respond to this normally, far less when she needed to remain quiet during the test. Perhaps it would be best to just ignore her for now. She began to turn back towards the front, only to catch a glimpse of many of the students now glaring intently at her or...could it be the other potion drinkers as well? Was this just random chance? Emiya's mind was racing and the weariness began to quickly fade from her face. She nervously began doodling and glancing over her shoulder to make sure they other girls were still looking, and indeed they were. There was no menace in their expression. Rather, she had seen that look before from girl's admiring a boy.
"Okay. Think rationally. Maybe I just did something silly again and didn't know it," she thought to herself. "But why the focus on the other potion drinkers as well? And why that look? Maybe this is a prank. Yes! Very funny girls...he he..." she flinched forward when the girl behind her yet again moved close to her hair. "A little overboard and uncharacteristic, yet that's the humor of it! He he...he he..." Her doodling became faster and faster, making it look like chaotic chicken scraps rather then any legible image. She hummed quietly to herself, waiting to see if this bizarre event would come to pass. The scooting of chairs was heard as some of the girls got onto their feet and began to crowd around her desk and the other potion drinkers.
"Hey, um, can I, like...totally kiss you," a girl with long pink hair asked, leaning forward and resting her elbows on Emiya's desk.
The lead of Emiya's mechanical pencil snapped. With a blank look on her face she reached to the top of her article and ripped the page straight down the middle, crumpled it into a ball, then chunked it out the window.
"Umm...pardon?" She replied meekly.
Lovey Dovey Potion it had been called an Yume had ought a bottle simply out of curiosity. The old Lady who ran the potion shop was notorious for her botched potions though the effects were almost always harmless.
Yume had,'t even considered any of the stranger permutations of the potion just that as her rite of passage demanded that she risk at least one potion from the shop. It was a tradition at the school she'd been told, every girl who attended the academy risked at least one vail to claim they were a Rose.
It was a love potion and she attended an all girls school so what could possibly happen? With no boys nearby even should the potion work she'd not have to worry, by the time she met any boys she'd be at holiday with one or both of her parents.
She'd drink the potion last night an placed the empty vial proudly on her book shelf so all could see that she Umachā Yume was a Rose. She'd gone to sleep an even woken up with her hair intact and the same color, the potion was one of the big duds of the shop.
She now sat in class waiting it to be over after finishing a rather lengthy test and handing it in. She was one of those lucky enough to have a window seat so she was admiring the way the breeze outside played with the leaves.
Her reverie was interrupted a bit later when Habiki Masaki who sat across the aisle from her said
Has anyone ever told you that when the sun strikes you as it does now that you resemble Kimi Manbō in "Eternal bliss of an uncluttered Heart?"
Yume turns quickly to face Habiki as her face goes red. "How did she know ?" Kimi Manbō was her mother's stage name and the fact she was her daughter was something Yume tried to hide.
She yelped when she realized that Habiki had been so close that they almost kissed
"W..well yes, yes I've heard that a couple o.of...
H..Habikian w..w.why are you looking at me like that? Yume stammers
Because you're so dam beautiful, will you please be my first kiss says Habiki practically pinning Yume to her char as she grabs either side of Yume's chair's back and she herself is kneeling atop the desk
Lissandra had her head laid on her desk. Even if she had a test today it didn't matter. She had no idea what she was suppose to write for it. It wasn't exactly the first time she had the same thing happen either. The majority of what was wrote on the test were pretty enough pictures she hoped would appease the teacher enough to not scold her for it... Not that past experiences had told her those actions would do such a thing. "I hate tests." She mumbled and grumbled sitting far in the back and over to the side, near enough to an exit door. She liked the seat. It gave her a decent vantage point on the rest of the class and she could usually slip in and out of class for most teachers.
Since she was in a hopeless spot as of now with the test, she did hope however, that the potion she drank prior would give her a moral boost of the sort. Maybe she would find her gallant knight. It was something she almost could only hope for at this point in time. She would have been mostly happy with just being together with SOMEBODY, supposing they were not one of those juvenile delinquent-types. "I wouldn't want a mega-creep either."
In her fascination, Lissandra's head turns over to look out to her left, noticing a gathering of girls around someone. "Did everyone finish already?"
A voice came from in front of her seat, "Not yet. But that's besides the point." Moving her head to see this girl, Lissandra notices something odd about the girl... She's not even working on her paper and she's turned around in her seat completely looking at Lissandra. The potion drinker couldn't even remember this girl's name. Riley? Karen? There were a few different things it could be. "You're so small and cute I could eat you up." The girl said while putting her arms around Lissandra. The girl was confused, mostly by the pure fact that some girl from her class was embracing her. On the other hand, she was confused why she was getting attention at all. "I want to just keep you."
Beyond her confusion, Lissandra remembered one thing that girl had said... "WHO THE HELL'S SMALL!?" She broke free of the other's embrace stood up and jumped back from her. "That's not very nice to say,...." What would have normally been replaced by a name yelled in anger, Lissandra didn't say anything. She didn't even know this girls name. Hell, it would have been a coincidence if she knew a quarter of the names in the room with the exception of the teacher. ".... You..."
The girl showed something similar. "Well, you who sits behind me but who's name I have never learned. Maybe we can learn each others' names... And many, many more things as well." The girl got up and started to make her way over to Lissandra. In fact, there were about another three on the way too. "I want to do things with you, little girl."
In a last act of defiance, Lissandra yells out again, "Don't call me a little girl! I am sixteen years old dammit!" It then dawned on her. "Wait... Do things? That.. Thats... That doesn't sound good... Especially with the way you're moving." Looking around, she noticed some of the other girls having somewhat similar issues. They also seemed familiar, were they in the magic shop with the group that got a potion? Yes they were. "This doesn't bode well... Now does it, me?"
Amaras busied himself behind his desk. He didn't mind being this class, it was filled with an assortment of characters. Some were smart, others were...well they were nice girls...a bit slow but nice nonetheless. He looked at the small pot of roses he kept on his desk, the bright red flowers reminding him of his own race. Beautiful and still dangerous to handle. He curled one finger inward, forcing the plants to grow, their thorns becoming larger and the roses to emit an intoxicating aroma. He looked up to the class to see if the gesture had any effect.
Usually, Amaras' roses calmed the students. Today it seemed to be having the opposite effect. A few of the girls had suddenly become the center of what seemed to be some unwanted attention. The elf stood up and cleared his throat "I would like to remind everyone that you are all yet to turn in your tests" his voice came out as one that commanded obedience, and yet it had no effect. Amaras chewed on his bottom lip, what was going on. The attention at the moment was focused on two of his brightest and one of the average students, his long blonde eyebrows furrowed slightly. Then he saw one student kneel upon another table, that was the final straw.
He threw his hands out wide, the plants in his class sprouting vines that snapped their way over to the offending students "Yume, Lissandra and Emiya; please move to the front of the class" he disliked using his magic in such a way but it was the most effective way to disentangle the groups. The vines held the enraptured students in place "what is going on?" He asked pointedly to the students he had just saved from gods knows what.
Elyse was sitting behind her bench. There was something odd in the air since morning. Like a vortex welling up. The minds of her classmates were flickering in front of her eyes. Including the results of this meaningless test. She had been done with it in a matter of minutes. She simply picked out the most common answers for each question. Those were usually right... Unless the entire class was wrong of course.
With the test out of the way she could go back to more important business , like inspecting the anomaly she's been noticing since sometime yesterday. She closed her eyes and after the initial darkness , her vision was filled with hundreds of lumps of symbols , she very well knew that each one of these untanglible lumps was a mind of one of her colleagues... Or their teacher. The color of these lumps presented emotions and the symbols presented thoughts. She's been noticing a small phase movement to pink in the general population of the campus. This was such a subtle movement that it wouldn't be usually suspicious , however when the entire campus moves to pink that is a reason to worry.
As usual she could freely float between the minds. As if she had a metaphysical body floating in the sphere of psychology. She approached one of the minds , picking at random was quite a good idea since that should rule out any possible preference towards the subject, she then "touched" the edge of the lump. (Touched , even though she doesn't have a body). And the symbols unravelled to reveal the glittery inside. The outside were mere surface thoughts. The inside was what mattered. She gathered her thoughts for a moment and "flew" inside.
The next moment she found herself in a surreal enviroment. Interwined memories and reflections of persons this girl met were all here. At least she got her "metaphysical" body here. She then started moving through the memories. She had to reach the newest section. That part was usually quite weird, as the mind takes time to make memories stable. After several minutes of wondering and remembering various memories of this girl (Who knows when they might come in handy) she came to a part which changed often, and seemed to be constanly assembling and dissasembling. She approached it and quickly got enveloped in a pinky mist. She suddenly coughed and looked around (Even though she didn't technically breathe). She quickly muttered out.
"Psy sprite class 01 , summon."
And a small blue orb of light appeared next to her as she fell to her knees, the mist didn't suffocate her it seems , but it made breathing heavy. Not to mention her heartbeat went sky-high.
Summon complete, orders miss?
"Identify the mist."
Identifying... Psychological composition unknown, not a natural phenomenon. The mist is the result of outside action.
"Ah , so it must be magic.
She said as she started to regain her composure, she should probably get used to this.
Warning, further analysis suggests that direct psychological contact with the mist migh leave the user affected.
"Eh? I must leave then."
Affirmative , it seems that the intensity of the mist is increasing, you should stop contact immediately.
"Thank you Psy , stand down."
The sprite disappeared and she closed her eyes , she suddenly reappeared in front of the mind. Its color now distinguishably becoming pink. I wonder what is this? She said as she opened her eyes. It seems that some kind of incident happened in the class as the teacher had to intervene. He called out three students in front of the class. Might as well observe what will happen then.
Yume saw Habiki captured by the vines and heard her name called to the front of the class. She quickly moved to comply with her teacher's orders but was stopped less than two steps away as a girl named Cassandra grabbed the hem of her skirt exclaiming.
Yume I love you don't run away said Cassandra as she tried to pull Yume to her desk and ripped away her skirt exposing Yume's Ducky panties..
Yume squealed in embarrassment an tried to cover herself up only to be pounced upon by Tyco an Brit a pair of twins.
"So Cute! Quack, quack" the two says as the wrap their arms around her waist an manage to pull Yume to the floor
No, no, no, no, please let me go protests Yume as the two besties work to hold her down as they work their way up her body.
Get off my Yume you girls says Cassandra who flares with magic as she uses her teleportational ability to port both girls into the tree tops outside the classroom windows
Yume tries to get up as Cassandra dives atop her knocking out her breath. Then the normally reserved Cassandra tries to Kiss Yume while she gropes her chest.
"Help me! yells Yume as she struggles to get Cassandra off of her
Emiya's name was called by the teacher, signifying that despite her best efforts she had still gotten in trouble. Ah fiddlesticks. She was asked what was going on, but before she could properly compose herself to answer with her theory she was glomped by the pink haired girl.
"Of Emiya! Emiya, my one true-"
Tired of this nonsense and in self defense she activated her magical ability that allowed her to put to sleep anyone who she had physical contact with; an ironic ability due to her case of insomnia. The girl was cut off midsentence, eyes rolling backwards as she plopped sound asleep onto Emiya's desk. Knocking out a fellow student might get her in a tad bit of trouble, but it was unavoidable now as things began to escalate and some of the girl's were still in grabbing range, having not yet been lifted. The girl with the bowl cut sitting behind her passionately wrapped her arms around Emiya's neck, rubbing her nose back and forth across her green hair.
"Such a wonderful smell! What perfume is this, or is this your natural, beautiful-"
Emiya activated her ability again, causing the poor girl to slump downward, wedging herself awkwardly between the two desks, her arms and legs sticking upwards. Okay, make that two students off to la la land. She'd try to be more careful from now on...that is until the crowd began getting desperate as they fought against the vines ensnaring them.
"Save me, my knight in shining armor!" One of them shouted. Emiya tried to jump past her, only to have her grab onto her ankle. She barely managed to remain standing by placing her hands on the desk in front of her and landed shakily on one foot. Ability activate! The girl's grip quickly loosened and she slumped over, propped up onto by the vines. Two more girls tried their best to block her path, but Emiya reached out with both hands towards their upper chests so that they tumbled limply out of the way. Emiya made a worried groaning noise as she surveyed the damage. That was five students down, most of the ones in her proximity.
"I'm so...P-please accept my apologies," she said with a bow to the teacher after stepping over the two motionless bodies. With the vines holding off the girl's movements, lifting them up into the air so that their flailing feet were just above her head, and none within grabbing distance any more she had a moment to breath. "You see, yesterday after school the three of us drank a love potion. I didn't know this would happen," she explained.
Meanwhile, Dilellea Harpstrum felt the effects of the love potion set in as she set her eyes on Lissandra. At least she thought it might be love, but she couldn't be sure because she had never experienced it before. No human could have gotten such a reaction from her until now. Why now? How could this girl be so cute when she denied her small statue to the other group of girl's making a move on her? This whole situation was so...splendid. The way the girl got so frustrated. A large smirk crossed the elf's slender lips. She loved feisty people. It would make it all the more pleasant when she got her to bow down beneath her heel. Yes! She would tame this girl! Dilellea's green eyes locked onto the girl like an infatuated predator waiting to make her move. Before she could do so, however, the professor ordered everyone to stop and she found herself constricted by vines, jerked off of her feet. How dare he stop her true love! She struggled against the vines with her enhanced strength, but it was futile. She had heard that the professors here could beat all of the students combined, but she had never had to experience this first hand. She grimaced, struggling against both the vines and the effects of the potion, as she flailed uselessly in the air.
Elyse was looking at what the class was doing , either the public morale really went to shit , or there was magic involved. Since the class was obviously dismissed she went ahead and stood up. She calmly walked between some tied up students , and it seems that the object of their focus were several other girls. She approached a green haired girl. Her thoughts quickly ran as she did that.
Emiya Alcentriess , 16 , Human , Ability to put people asleep by touch. Daughter of a famous scientist. Very smart, but somehow lacking in common sense.
"Excuse me , but i wish to question you about the causes of this incident."
Her voice was cold an monotone , very much unlike the one of her crazed colleagues.
Lissandra didn't know how she was suppose to reach the front. The best path seemed to be the one that the one girl was making... Well, mostly cleared from where she started on. The people just dropped like flies when she touched them. After putting her test folded in her pocket, she bonked people on the head as she moved by to keep them at bay, she noticed the one other girl sharing her problem... Well, getting the worst of a mutual problem. While she didn't want to have to dirty her hands, the situation was pissing her off. She made her way over again, bonking heads back until she reached Yume. The only reason she could move this much was because of the teacher's magic. She bonked the random girl's head enough to startle her and then pulled her off Yume. "Glad these vines are here at least." She grabbed Yume's hand and pulled her up as much as she could, Lissandra's short stature didn't help out much there. Admittedly, Lissandra was glad to be of short stature right this very moment, as it made it easier to traverse the chaos in the room. "Come on, teacher wants to talk to us... Yume, yes?"
She walked a path, dodging grabs and returning the favor until she reached the front (hopefully with Yume behind her, as she never did look back). "Lis, reporting for duty sir..." She said quite unenthusiastically. She reached into her pocket and grabbed out the test, unfolded it and handed it to the teacher, "Here's my test, Kalaf. I even added some drawings this time around. I think they look good." For what it was worth, there were some pretty decent doodles of knights and dragons among other things. "Still, I never imagined drinking that would result with this..." She motioned to the room of crazy girls and the vines that extended across the room.
Amaras looked at the girls that had since walked to the front of the room "really? You drank a potion called lovey dovey potion..." He furrowed his brows once more "and you thought nothing would become of it?" His breath came out shallow as he spoke, so much concentration was taking a tax on him. A low growl crawled from the elf's throat "go, out the door...the vines are going to..." His words were cut off by the vines snapping and a surge of female forms moving towards the front. He growled again "go now!" He shouted loudly.
The girls swarmed forward and clawed, grabbed and even tried to kiss the girls he had in front of him "run!" He pushed them out the door and locked it behind them "what the hell is that?" He growled and looked at the group in front of him "who's bright idea was this?!"
