You'd be surprised, I made up all kinds of shit when I'd ditch school. My grandma's died at least 10 times.

And what this boils down to is, this kid had to have ditched/cut class significantly to be taken to truancy court. There's no other way around it. Schools do not just take you to court over one absence, it doesn't work that way.

And the face palm is uncalled for. I know what I'm talking about. My dad was not only a teacher, but a vice principal of both high school and middle school. The head of my school district was a long time family friend and I have personally dealt with truancy court. You don't know what you're talking about, so learn a little bit about the school system before you accuse them of injustice. If I'm wrong (I'm 98% sure that I'm not) and they DID cite the kid for truancy for the first offense, there is no way it will hold up in court. She might get community service for wasting tax payers money. If I am right, then they will still more than likely drop the ONE DAY the kid used to see their father and still cite the kid for all the other days they've obviously missed.

also nobody wants to be away from a sick loved one, especially school what would happen if the person died whilst you were there instead of by there side. School can suck ****.
