As the world began to fall apart, humanity found itself unable to coup. But many of the animals of the world ajusted with ease. As the human population began to fall, cities began to crumble and nature took over the ruins. Scientists began to scamble in how to restore their power on the planet, so the human testing insued. When the final produces were finished, these people where considered the golden people, all having hard skin and lungs like the most powerful animals. But they were also seperated into the groups by the animals in which their ancesters were fused with in order to survive. The Felis remained together as Caners packed together. They live in vast, upperclass cities in which they enjoy the luxeries of life and entertainment.
But the people who came from the early experiements were not so lucky. Due to the fact they looked more the part of their animal counter parts, their ancesters were considered failures, cast aside, refered to as Filthy. These people have more characteristics similar with animals and appearance, allowing them to live in the harsh world easier. But their cities are not as rich as the Golden cities and the people need to work harder in order to survive, some towns barely making it each day. Their towns lay in the outskirts of civilization, most never having time for entertainment and luxeries. The battle for life is a daily fight.
At the beginning of the experiements, the scientists decided to test how well their creations worked by pitting them against each other. Whoever survived would be used to pass their genes along. But as the need for the tests lapsed, the battles still continued, only as a sense of tradition. As the fights appear as just mere games to the Golden, the Filthy saw them more as a reminder of their inferiority. Each year, a group of teens are selected to fight to the death for entertainment. Winning means all respect and power a person can want, and even their own choice in a spouse, the other having no option. Losing...is not an option. How will you fair in the unforgiving fight? Will you fall to your enemies or rise above the others.
