Well it wasn't a Rabbit Doubt-style forum game like the ones in spam that I'm assuming you were invited into. It was an actual roleplay, and the GM had an awesome way of running it.
He had us make detective characters, and then he would pick one of us to be Kira. I had joined, and then Cheetay found the same thread and she joined, and we even made our detectives partners that worked together and had matching names- Kaga and Kage. Though what we hadn't realized about the GM's intentions, was that he was going to pick one of us to secretly be Kira. As in, not just IC, but even the other roleplayers would have no idea who Kira was, because he would PM Kira the username and password of an alt account, which we would use to post actions as Kira rather than the detectives we claim to be. Also, the CS's were all made with aliases, while we PMed our characters real names to the GM, who would PM them to Kira once he/she gets a hold of them somehow. Sweet system, right? Now for a moment I also thought this was the coolest idea ever, but then the thought occurred to me that was "HOLY SHIT WHAT IF CHEETAY IS KIRA?!?" which honestly scared me a little. I would much rather any other character in the roleplay be Kira. Any other character. Even Gabby, who also happened to be in the picture.
But then... I was picked to be Kira. And that seriously made me so happy that, when I read the PM, I started rolling around on my bed laughing maniacally. (I also did this every time I killed someone- both when I wrote their names down and also when I read the post where they die~)
But then things got interesting because while I was Kira... everyone else was trying to figure out who Kira was. NEED I REMIND YOU CHEETAY IS IN THIS ROLEPLAY?! And upon this realization that the person I go to school with might suspect me of being Kira, I then concluded... Cheetay was my L. And that wasn't a pleasant thought.
So then every time we saw each other, at least when we were talking about the roleplay, I'd have to choose my words all carefully and get in this whole intellectual chess match like L and Light did in the actual series. And then go home to kill people.
I also tried pinning the Kira thing on Gabby, by carefully wording my posts as Kira to make myself look like Gabby, and then finally accusing her publicly by saying their writing styles were similar. Oh my god that was fun. Poor innocent Gabby's reactions were hilarious.
So yeaaaaah... I got way more fun than I should've out of that roleplay and got waaaaay too into character... heh....
