Renkinjutsushi (Alchemist): Renkinjutsushi resembles a regular Katana. It's Ito (wrapping) is white with a slightly extended Tsuka (handle). The Tsuba (Guard) is a steel triangle with a moulded lotus on it. It is generally put into the Kido ability category.
Spirit Appearance: Spirit Appearance: The spirit of 'Renkinjutsushi' takes the form of an man converd in a large black Haori with a large print of a white lotus on the back. He is generally seen sitting down and chewing on a stick that is lit at the end. He is quite a cocky young man and likes to think he is better than most, however this clashes with Irako's personality and the two cancel eachother out quite nicely.
Shikai: Sorasu, Renkinjutsushi (Bend, Alchemist) (Ren-kin-jut-soo-shi). Whilst in this form the composition of the sword is changed. It has a Steel (Iron and Carbon) shell, however inside are three veins of differing metals namely Silver, Tungsten and Lead.
Shikai Abilities: Renkinjutsushi's Shikai ability is to materialize or create Electrons and force them to bond with Atoms and Visa Versa. This allows it to change the electrical charge, flow and current in objects. However this ability is limited, he can only change the electrons within a 30cm distance from his swords blade meaning he has to get close to fully use it's effect.
Changing the charge of atoms however can spread the charge across an object, for example if Irako rests his sword on a fence, he can send a continuous charge electrifying the entirety of it. There are many techniques Irako uses with his Shikai, even creating new ones to adapt to certain situations however there are five known tricks he uses with it most often.
1. Normally used when he is being chased, Irako likes to quickly stab the ground where ever he lands electrically charging the ground. This means that when his pursuer lands where he was they are electrocuted allowing Irako to quickly attack while they are wide open.
2. This technique can only be used in certain weather conditions. Irako can electrically charge the air molecules around his sword making them glow slightly, if the weather is right Irako can raise his sword to the sky allowing a bolt of lightning to strike his sword charging it violently, he can then point his sword and shoot this bolt of lightning from his sword at will. However after three shots he must acquire a new bolt of lightning to recharge.
3. Swinging the sword around him Irako is able to create an electromagnetic field surrounding him. This field is able to protect him from certain attacks and even able to stop a sword as the metal is repelled by the field it would be like hitting a brick wall.
4. This is Irako's favorite technique however it is difficult to pull off. Irako has to stab the chest of his opponent or at least make contact with his blade. This allows him to quickly change the charge of the atoms in the inner ear of his opponent. In the inner ear is located a liquid that is responsible for balance, violently charging half of that liquid will cause the atoms to repel eachother completely throwing off the opponents balance and sense of direction. This makes it incredibly difficult if not impossible to fight.
5. When Irako's sword comes into contact with his opponents he charges their swords blade, then he does the same to his. This means that the next time he attacks and his opponent raises their sword to block his attack his sword will repel his opponents and move it out of the way allowing his attack to land. The down side to this technique is that it usually only works once and it also effects him as his opponents sword will repel his blocks equally so.
Bankai: Bankai, Renkinjutsushi no koorogi-senzai (Final release, Alchemist of the Cricket Garden)
Bankai Abilities: Irako's Bankai keeps all the abilities of his Shikai, however it's range is now doubled and so it becomes more dangerous and easier to use. The ability he gains from his Bankai is similar to his Shikai however now, along with being able to materialize electrons Irako is able to produce Protons and Neutrons ultimately meaning he can change elements.
Just like his Shikai if his sword comes into contact with an object or a cluster of similar atoms he can change the entire object. However his Bankai is also limited in power, Irako cannot change any element to any element he can only change it to a certain degree, specifically he can only transform an element to another as long as it is within 10 spaces on the periodic table. For example this means he can only change Hydrogen into the first ten elements on the periodic table. He cannot for instance change Iron into Palladium, he would have to change the Iron as much as he could (Krypton) and then change the Krypton again into Palladium. The change takes a few seconds and so it is very much possible to stop Irako before he can change it a second time.
Irako has four abilities he has been known to preform whilst using his Bankai, even if he rarely uses it, however like his Shikai power he is prone to creating new methods on the spot.
1. Turning the edge of his blade to Phosphorus Irako is able to block an opponents attack sparking the phosphorus and creating a bright blinding light for a second, this distracts his enemy and gives Irako a moment to strike back. When he does his attack leaves Phosphorus alight in the cut, constantly burning water will not put it out and it will cause horrific damage if ignored.
2. Irako, when swinging his sword can bond the Oxygen and Hydrogen in the air to create water. Slashing at his opponent this water can fired at high speed and can cut as easily as a blade. Whats more he generally combines this attack with his Shikai ability, attacking his opponent by covering him in water and then quickly following it up by electrocuting the water, amplifying the damage it can do.
3. Stabbing his sword into the ground Irako is able to change the Silicon in the earth into Fluorine gas. The yellow cloud bursts out of the ground anywhere within ten meters of him and it's corrosive qualities will start to melt anything caught in it's haze.
4. Irako can transform small spots on the blade of his sword into Caesium, when these small spots contact with water they react explosively. This allows Irako to create explosions whenever his sword slashes at a surface that is holding water. This makes him incredibly dangerous when fighting near a large body of water and can also mean that if his opponent is wet he can potentially cause limbs to explode if he gets a good connection.
