Heh. it was 6th seat. There are a lot of things to say here.

1.) He denied any and all promotions from that position though he was offered them many a time.
2.) In the battle with Tenebrae invading. He survived, he was the only one to survive except for Aaron, which was by a stroke of luck and being though dead, and the captain who also survived.
3.) Also. The captain who survived was near death and had to be healed lest he die. Shin'ya had only a few minor scratches -_-.
4.) If you read the interaction between Shin'ya and Quin...you'll find that Quin who is a captain commander level quincy(the highest rank with 500 stats) would have died in an instant against him if he had wished him dead.
5.) Wolfe(another general) is equal in power to Quin and thus is also much weaker then Shin'ya.
6.) The captain who is the only other shinigami general is obviously weaker then Quin and Wolfe and thus much much weaker then Shin'ya.

In conclusion. This guy is the strongest of the 4 generals by a long shot and you have no idea what you're dealing with.

yeah and according to that since he denied all promotions he should only have 100 stat points your system goes not by strength but by seat thus he cant shake off the poison.
and the kido eating blade would prevent any healing kido aswell
