The Galactic Crusade OOC

The year is 2886 Standard, and up until now, the galaxy has remained peaceful. More than 200 years ago saw the Crusade of Blood, the last officially sanctioned Holy War by the Order of Terra. The 200 years saw the fracture of the unified galaxy, as the major forces each splintered off, more in self defense than want for freedom, and resisted being pulled back into the folds of the religious empire. This did not sit well with the Order, who slaughtered the heretics who dared speak out against the divine will of the Celestial Spirit. For 200 standard years, men, women, and children all burned and led to the accepted name for this crusade. Crusaders, the holy fighters of the Order, burned and pillaged the stars, bringing each of the wayward sectors under the yoke of the Order. From the trenches of Salumus Secondus, to the urban world of Alpha Alari, the Crusade touched all. After 200 years of such slaughter, only one sector held out and forced the crusade to be ended, as the Order was not limitless and needed time to recoup from such an expenditure of resources.

This sector was the United Defensive Protectorate. The UDP utilized downright desperate tactics to stop the Order's Crusaders. The UDP is a massive sector, equal to the Order and her current holdings. Raising massive conscript and mercenary armies, they fought the Order to a standstill. For 200 years the UDP has prospered and grown more powerful, while the Order also solidified her holdings and regrew her forces. The Order patrolled her holdings with special forces, while the UDP used the threat the Order posed to maintain control. Democracy and freedom are fanciful dreams at best, and downright dangerous to even mention at worst. A cold war that has lasted nearly 200 years is heating up, and is ready to plunge the galaxy into another bloody and all consuming Crusade.

The Crusade began over what the Order considered a minor territorial issue. The Order sent a moderate sized strike force into the asteroid belts surrounding the outer edges of the UDP territory. Their goal was to secure the resources this field had for the glory of the Order and Galactic Spirit. The UDP had been mining this field for some time, however, and saw this as the opening shots of the Crusade. Both sides had considered the field under their control, and reacted with according shows of force, and issued ultimatums. The Order demanded full withdraw of all UDP forces, civilian and otherwise, or face immediate consequences. The UDP, in response, mobilized several legions of conscripts, supported by their armored forces, and demanded the immediate cessation of hostilities by the Order. All it took was a spark to set off the fighting. Neither side knows who shot first, but the important matter was that someone started shooting.

Fast forward several years, and the new Crusade has ground to a standstill. The Order achieved early victories, leveraging their superior technology to take the first asteroid belt and press through the outer worlds. Crusader losses were minimal, but the Order infantry that did not wear the same level of power armor as the Crusaders suffered the majority of the losses. The conscript Legions, while poorly equipped and trained, were able to inflict the losses through weight of numbers. This, combined with having to pacify every new world conquered, slowed the Order's progress enough for the UDP to entrench the second asteroid belt within their territory. The Order was not prepared for this, and the grinding assault forward was brought to a hard stand still. The massed fire of tanks, infantry, and weapons quickly designed to fight power armor repulsed the power armored Crusaders, and the regular infantry got cut down if they got within firing range of the entrenchments and pillboxes.

The Order hunkered down just out of range of the UDP forces, digging in as well to avoid being pushed out of the asteroid belt. A massive variety of rocks, from shuttle sized rocks that were stabilized anti ship batteries, to planetoids that housed the main HQ's of each side, small hops between rocks harkened back to the ancient wars of Terra, where men and women would throw themselves at the enemies fortifications, only to get cut down, and have their foes do the same. It is now that the Order and UDP find themselves detecting disturbing signals from outside any human ranging colonization efforts. Whether these signals are warnings, or are merely random signals that are most likely reflected from the times humanity was restricted to one planet, has yet to be seen.

Where all the fine folks (IE: You) who decide to enlist in the Crusade come in is that those signals have a significant impact on both Order and UDP (Talked about in greater detail in the Useful Information section) and the Crusade itself. Things will start on an asteroid large enough to support two military forces entrenched and facing off in a standoff. Things will pick up from there.

The Order of Terra was founded the year 2200 Standard, after the widespread expansion of humanity and the lack of any nonhuman sentient life. The Order professes a belief in the Galactic Spirit, the guiding force that led humanity to its unhindered domination of the known Galaxy, and first gained rapid followers among the drifting population, those that lived in space rather than settle on any single planet. Having something to pray to when navigating a black hole field or solar storm gave the captains and crew a measure of peace and security, and led to the roving missionaries of the Order. Trained on Terra, where the Order is based and claims its name, they initially used their religious sway to rapidly infiltrate politics and take over the galaxy, though the ruse allowed her various governments to believe they held the power. This changed shortly before the Crusade of Blood, but was handled by the Order's military branch, the Crusaders.

Commonly referred to as the Crusaders, the Order of Terra's main military force. Taking their name from the ancient holy warriors from Terra's pre space history, they are a ruthless and deadly force. By far the smallest military force, and by far the most technologically advanced, a Crusader uses his superior technology and training to win the day for the glory of Terra. They are led by a Temple Master, who attains this position after many years of trails and combat, starting as a neophyte and rising up to a Brother Captain, who are second only to the Master him, or her, self. A Brother Captain challenges the Master for rule of the Crusaders, and the victor is seen as guided by the hand of the Spirit, and crowned the new Temple Master. Of course, internal politics play into this as much as divine intervention would.

Hunters are the secret police of the Order, lacking a better terminology. Headed by the Grand Magus, the Hunters have as long a history as the Order, being the force of choice before the Crusaders existed. Lesser ranks include Inquisitors, the field agents of the Hunters, and the ten Magi, the council that advises, and need be, replace the Grand Magus if he proves inept in his duty. An Inquisitor requests Knights of the Crusaders, as well as the varying forces under the control of the Order to accomplish his or her task. A Magus will act as the administrative and diplomatic aspect of the Hunters, working to have these requests for aid and reinforcement filled in a timely manner, assuming said Inquisitor is in good standing with the Order. An Inquisitor carries the authority of the Order, and often calls on the various forces he may encounter that are friendly to his cause, and do so with no fear of resistance, for heresy is seen in defying the divine will of an Inquisitor, and the punishment is well known for such heresies. Death by the cleansing fire.

Other than the Crusaders and Hunters, the Order rules over two former kingdoms that broke away before the Crusade. Both old names were erased by edict of the Hunters, and enforced by the Crusaders, but are very distinct. The first are well known for their small, but well trained and equipped, commando squads referred to as SpecOps. The SpecOps soldiers act as mercenaries, working for anyone within the Order that can afford their talents, even if it hurts their formerly sovereign ruler.

The second are the regular men and women of the Order, whom are called to arms when an army is required. While not as well trained or equipped as the regular military arms, the regulars fill the normal ranks, equipped with average tech that leads the Order to victory. Better treated and respected than the UDP troops, the regulars, when off duty, act in many civilian jobs, from carpenters and mechanics to teachers and scientists. All have combat training, however, and are ready to take up arms in the glory of the Spirit's name.

The technology of the Order is highly advanced compared to that of the UDP. Using energy weapons almost exclusively, these range from projected electricity to plasma weapons that can melt through most unshielded tank armor. The Temple Master is even rumored to carry a Dark Matter weapon that dissolves anything it hits. Crusaders have advanced Power Armor that allows them to shrug off most small arms fire, and it takes a dedicated tank killer to begin subjecting them to danger. They also field powered melee weapons and combat shields of varying design, mostly by the wielders choice, though all have the same effect. Creating a Crusader that can shrug off most fire and close with the enemy, acting as shock troops. Even the armor changes appearance, though has the same effect.

Their spacecraft reflect this, being fewer in number but much more advanced. Most of their ships are of the Warfighter class which are capable of all the tasks the Order requires of them. Using six fore mounted variable rail cannons, able of firing high power, but slow, shots or rapid fire, but weaker, shots depending on the targets, and hardy enough to withstand most assaults, combined with their reactive shielding, are expensive but very formidable.

Beyond this, medical tech is highly advanced, and look alike prosthetics and cybernetic implants are commonplace. From lost arms and legs that are replaced with better and stronger replacements, to internal reinforcement of damaged or weak body systems, medical tech is aided by nano's that allow Order surgeons to do just about anything necessary. An odd quirk is the ban on any Artificial Intelligence, due to its emulation of the human mind, which is seen as a heretical pursuit.

The UDP formed shortly before the Crusade of Blood was declared by the Order of Terra. This conglomerate of nations was formed under the rule of one man, with no checks or balances to keep him from taking too much power, as he was put in control out of fear, and this fear lost them the lease of freedom they had after breaking away from the Order. The large number of small nations led to one super nation, matching the Order in size and at least tripling her size in military applications. This came at a price, as their military was, in general, conscripted and of much poorer quality than the Order's well trained and selective Crusaders, Hunters, SpecOps, and regular forces. Widely denying the Spirit as a mad sedative of the masses, the ruler, simply known as Him, was elevated to the status of a god. This, of course, led to the inability to reach any sort of peace between the Order and UDP, and is sparking the second Crusade.

Legions are the (literally) millions of conscripted men and women, given a sketchy training and sent to die or run the ammo of the Order's forces out before overrunning their defenses with whatever weapon they were issued. Being trained to fear the Commissars and brainwashed to the point of being slobbering fools, armed with guns and having a comprehensive understanding of all foul language. Poorly armed and armored, their massive numbers are the sole reason they are effective at any time, and this is only multiplied in any urban scenario, where they have to be dug out of their defensive positions. Each legion numbers anywhere from 500,000 conscripts, to a 1,000,000 conscripts (Always divided into 5 to 10 Cohorts of 100,000 conscripts apiece). These Cohorts are led by Legionnares, conscripts who proved their worth to Commissars and are tasked with leading their cohort. Each Legion is led by a Lord Commissar, who runs his own command of lesser commissars.

Both a political police force, and leaders of Legions and their Cohorts, a Commissar is the son of a politician who needs to advance his or her career, and thus sends their firstborn to serve as a commissar. Utterly loyal to the UDP regime, and generally lacking in morals, most commissars use lethal force to maintain discipline, though some are known to use charisma and kinship to keep the conscripts in line, though this is rare as it takes a unique individual to accomplish this. As a police force, specially trained Commissars are deployed as squads to act as the terror force of Him. They are even more feared, even by other commissars, as they are authorized to do anything to accomplish the task given, even ordering an entire legion executed if need be. Anything to maintain control and security against the Order and revolutionaries.

Compared to the Order, the average conscript's weaponry and tech is primitive. Heavily reliant on ballistic weapons, the weapon issued is as varied as the planet the Cohort or Legion is raised from. Assault rifles that are barely any different from their early 2000 ancestors, to the state sponsored Conscript Rifle, which is the standard for legions that lack a rifle of personal choice. The Commissars usually have energized swords that can match a Crusader's blade, while their sidearm range from any sort of handgun or revolver, to crude energy weapons salvaged from slain Order troops. Uniforms literally are impossible to regulate, jungle legions dressed lighter than an arctic planet's legion would dress. Commissars also differ depending on where they are assigned.

To compensate for their lack of powered armor, the UDP utilize tanks, and lots of them. The prime model, though not the only, is the Mk.22 Rumbler which is armed with its main 150mm cannon, able to fire either rapid fire autocannon shells, or slower firing but lethal to hostile armor AP shells. The design of the tank deflects as well as absorbs armor, and short of plasma or powered weapons, the Rumbler can shrug off most infantry weapons, and provide a critical support role for the Legions.

Warships rely on ballistics and brute force, and thus are cruder, cheaper, and more numerous than the Order fleets. The common model is the Mk.17 Interdiction Cruiser. Armed with a heavy variety of mainly torpedoes, the UDP vessels also are experts in ramming and boarding actions, though this rarely takes a ship, it does disable an Order vessel, forcing them out of the fight, which is the main goal of a UDP Captain. This is also a source of pride, being able to smash their ship into one of the Order, much to the annoyance of previously mentioned Order Captains, who constantly watch for these suicide ramming chargs.

Medical tech is crude, literally nothing more than early 2000 era medical tech. A lost limb usually earned them a shot in the head, as time couldn't be wasted on a soldier that couldn't hold a rifle. However, limb replacement was available for commissars and politicians, however it was little more than crude wiring and armor plating. What is unique is that the UDP AI are common place, and can usually leverage a battle in favor of the UDP if given enough computation time and data, a critical advantage over the Order and their purely organic thinking.

Major NPC roles (Such as Order and UDP Commanding officers, rulers, and other personnel that are deemed necessary, but are unfilled roles) will be created as NPCs to act them out. As characters are accepted, I'll put them under the accepted characters (Right below here), for quick reference. So there will be no need to have to sift through pages of OOC to find where someone's character is posted.

Equipment: Captain Isaac has two trademark pieces of equipment on him at all times.

SpecOp Blast Carbine: Utilizing self recharging power packs, the Blast Carbine is the primary weapon of choice for SpecOp personnel. Capable of thirty rapid fire shots using a standard pack before several second recharge period, the Carbine can accept other power packs, with different outputs and recharge rates. Marksmen can use high power and longer ranged packs, that recharge slower and have fewer charges. Suppression and CQB troopers can use either lower yield, but higher fire rate and recharge packs, or scatter packs that send a short ranged blast of energy shreds. Isaac himself uses a standard pack.

SpecOp Field Suit: The commonly issued suit for Order SpecOps, the Field Suit has several standard features. A limited ballistic weave that can limit the damage of slug based weapons, though more than a few shots will punch through the weave. A helmet that can collapse and reform with a thought allows the suit to function in environments that require oxygen to be brought along. The suit also has hard points to accomodate different load outs, depending on the user's need. Officers usually have advanced communications gear, as well as improved plates to increase survivability. Other troopers have different load outs to fit their task. Isaac has an officers load out, with EVA jets wired into his backpack.
Appearance:


Captain Isaac is roughly five feet and ten inches tall, and weighs in at about 157lbs, without his combat suit on. With his suit on, he is closer to 200lbs in weight. The man keeps his reddish hair sleeked back and trimmed to regulation lengths, both to keep neat and to avoid issues with his helmet with too long of hair getting snagged. Beyond this, he has a lean build, having little unnecessary weight or meat on his body anywhere, due to his training as a SpecOps. These factors give a very ordered and militaristic look and feel towards the Captain

Personality: Isaac keeps a calm and collected outwards appearance, and first glances make many think he is focused solely on completing a mission, no matter the loses. In general, this is true. Isaac puts the mission first and foremost in most cases, using his training and common sense to complete the mission with the lowest amount of lives and resources lost. One issue that keeps coming up is that he is perfectly willing to abandon a mission to rescue his team, especially if the mission will not be a success anyways, he won't waste time trying to change facts.

Biography: As the son of a well to do Order politician, Martin was expected to follow in his fathers footsteps as a political cog that kept the Order running. Religion might be its face, but many political dealings also occurred that kept the war machine going. Martin did not like the idea of hiding behind his father's legacy as an easy out through life, and was determined to make his own way. He wasn't in a sector that the Crusaders recruited from, but he was in one of the old sectors that the SpecOps recruited in. Practicing his physical conditioning in a daily basis, and keeping himself in shape, he made it into the training program the SpecOps ran.

During his training he proved calm and quick thinking under fire. Keeping a calm and steady trigger, he was able to keep good marks in his marksmanship training, though he wasn't sniper material. He managed to earn the respect of those he worked with and under during training, and rapidly rose to lead his fellow trainees in their various exercises. Due to this he was trained as an officer as well as a SpecOp trooper. Entering duty as a Lieutenant he proved his competence during the various missions they were hired to go on. One notable event was early in the new Crusade, a UDP ship rammed the cargo ship that was carrying Isaac and his squad, creating a breach that left him drifting in space for several hours before an EVA equipped rescue team could catch up with him. This deeply impacted the man, and he always carried some EVA equipment from that day onwards.

Leading several rapid assaults that the Order hired the SpecOps to accomplish, he earned the rank of Captain eventually, being part of the forces dispatched for the long term assignment to break through the UDP entrenchments that the regular Order forces were having trouble breaking through. This was shortly after the Order first encountered the entrenchments, and Captain Isaac is still fighting with the rest of the Order to try and break the defenses and resume the invasion deeper into the UDP territories.

Combat Role: Veteran Conscript. Officially, not any more important than a normal conscript. Unofficially, he acts as a veteran NCO, with other conscripts coming to him for advice and looking to him for leadership... when the commissar isn’t around of course.
Appearance: Miles stands at five foot eight, an average height, and an average build stacked on that height. Entirely unremarkable in profile. He is well muscled by necessity, being in the army will do that to you, but he could have much more muscle mass if his diet were better. Curly brown hair which has been allowed to spread like a jungle adorns his head. Blue eyes are his most striking feature, seconded only by a hawklike beak of a nose. Underneath the dirt, his skin might be white, odds are no one will ever know.
Mile’s uniform is a hodge-podge. He wears a pair of kahki desert pants with a trench-tailored set of canvas pads. A cobalt grey pilot’s turtle-neck and an olive drab trench duster on his upper body. He has long past discarded his issue helmet (which is in use as a cook pot now.) as useless . Every time someone bothers to issue him a new one (not often) it is promptly shot off, cracked or otherwise lost.
Equipment: Miles carries the carbine version of the official conscript rifle... which is exactly the same as the standard but with ‘carbine’ stenciled onto it.
Miles also was entrusted with one of the anti-tank rifles scattered through the ranks. A 14.5 mm cannon which will, if used under maximally effective conditions, bring down a powered armor.
Biography: Miles is an orphan... no, really. Any UDP citizen can generally tell that by his name. ‘Rutherford’ is on the state approved list of substitutive surnames for it’s wards, along with ‘Cartwright’ ‘Winslow’ and a dozen others. Mile’s parent’s were part of a pseudo-religious cult. Pacifists, but not vocal about it and otherwise good citizens who payed there taxes, so they were ignored... for a while. Then Mile’s older sister Lilith took her academic entrance exam, and placed at a level that made most prodigies look like retarded gophers. The state had a great many uses for smart children, so the secret police used the families religious ties as an easy excuse to round up the entire family.
Something went wrong. Someone fought back. A commissar panicked and shot up the place. The parents were dead right off the bat, but somewhere in all the ruckus, a stray bullet hit seven year old Lilith, putting her in critical condition. The girl was taken to the military hospital, and a two year old Miles became a ward of the state. UDP medical technology being as abysmal as it is, the little girl died, but not before the state got at least one use out of her. Lilith’s brain pattern was scanned shortly before death, and her personality lifted. She was used as the personality core for a new AI designed to mimic her personality and aptitudes. Meanwhile, Miles grew up. From a state orphanage there is only one place anyone can go.
At the age of seventeen, Miles joined the army, and that’s when his ‘sister’ found him. She couldn't get him out of the army, not for lack of administrative power, she was in charge of logistics and tactics for three legions and Miles would have been easily lost. The reason she couldn’t was because the state ran all jobs. If you weren’t registered, you didn’t exist. If you didn’t exist, you couldn’t eat. So, instead she has, unknown to him this entire time, simply weighted the odds in his favor. Countless times, his units were able to hold when no one else could because equipment got strategically ‘lost’ in his general direction. A combination of his sisters support, and his own audacity has kept him alive much longer than most conscripts could dream of. And he doesn’t even know she exists.

Personality:
Even with all the killing she never seems to lose her good mood, seemingly able to just shrug off the horrors of war. Highly committed to her duty, she will not disobey any orders given, as long as it is within reason. Even when it seems all hope is lost, she will never give up if she thinks she has a chance. She is prone to singing, regardless of where she is, or what she is doing. In battle, during guard duty, she will sing, and sing.
Biography: She was conscripted during the age of 15, given basic training and shoved onto the battlefield, where she quickly picked up her survival skills. As many around her falls, and more take their place, she never has enough time to make any friends as none of them lived very long. Thus she does not make the effort to meet anyone. The only one she ever talked to was her younger brother, who was also the first person she has ever seen died. Since then she was filled with hatred for the Terrans(short for Order of Terra?) though she never seem to show it, though whenever she sings some reports to have seen her cry.
3 years in the battlefield has made her emotionally detached, unaffected by the gristly aftermath. And earned her a nickname, "Valkyrie". The origin of the name was never known as the namer died in battle. Nonetheless the name stuck, and hence forth she was known as Valkyrie, even by the higher ranking officers. After managing to destroy a heavily entrenched bunker (by sheer luck), she was promoted to Legionaire, and granted privileges of her office.
Valkyrie commands her cohorts skillfully, applying her experiences to help her charges live longer, applying the best possible tactic to minimize losses especially in no-retreat situations.

Combat Role: SpecOps Assassin

Equipment: Vaiden has unique combat equipment customized to fit his military role.

Reaper Armor: Made of very synthetic material that can deflect a bullet. The material used absorbed the bullets velocity and displaces it, this stops the bullets from puncturing but also hurts like hell. The Raper suet has a built in clocking device that can blend in with its surroundings. This function is limited and not very effective. The suet becomes distorted and ineffective if the user moves to quick such as walking and running. The cloaking device works best at night or in dim light.

Combat blades: Vaiden has a large range of bladed weapons each of which are made of condensed steel that can penetrate almost any armor with ease.

SPecOp Blast Carbine: A rifle that doubles as a scatter gun.

Personality: Vaiden is a cold blooded killer with very little remorse. He loves nothing more than to spill blood and watch his enemies slowly die before him. He believes that your most precious moments in life is the few seconds before you die. When not on the job Vaiden can be seen as the complete opposite. He can be charming and witty at times and draws a large crowed with his charms and humor.

Biography: Born to a Noble family he was sent away to military school at a very young age. He excelled in hand to hand combat especially with a blade in hand. He developed a sadistic taste for blood very early in his life. His life in military school was cruel and difficult which only got worse when he graduated to full fledged military when he was 18. By this time he was a ruthless killer without remorse that followed orders without question.

His superiors seen his combat capabilities and pushed him into the SpecOps corp. He passed every test he was given with ease and was allowed special training while in the SpecOps. He rose in the ranks fast being a superb marksman and an even better close combat fighter. His skills in stealth and survival was unmatched by anyone in the corps.

Due to his skills he was assigned to a assassin squad of sorts. Officially these assassins did not exist on paper but their brutal tactics were know on both sides. Each member was given a nickname and their identities kept secret at all times. Vaiden gained the nickname Reaper for his merciless tactics and the skull helmet he wears in combat. The Reaper is usually called in to turn the tide of battle and demoralize enemy troops.

Beneath the armour Kilus is quite a tall man who stands at six feet. His body is more toned and slender than muscled, he relies more on his agility and dexterity and uses technology to make up the difference in strength. Like for example his right arm which is in fact robotic, just covered in fake flesh. This arm provides enhanced strength and a few other 'perks' like a small, in built, monomolecular saw and a finger plasma torch.

His skin is quite pale, having little contact with sunlight than isnt dangerous. His black hair flows down to his neck like a lions mane, his bangs parted away from his genetically enhanced eyes. The enhancements provide him with better eyesight, allowing him to see clearly up to 1500 metres in clear day, up to 1000 in night however even his eyes cannot help him much when he is on the dark side of a planet.

Personality: Kilus, plainly put, is a glory hunter. He seeks to achieve the impossible for the sake of praises and fame. He is sometimes brash in action and does not think or wait when he sees a chance to raise his fame. He is usually bashing heads against his superiors and commanders but he is never discharged or gotten rid of, he is far too popular an icon and his family too influential that it would be stupid to get rid of him. He is also very fun loving and likes to have a good time however sometimes he is also lazy and lax and is not willing to go on a mission unless he thinks it's woth his while to do so.

Biography: Kilus was born as the third child into the rich and influential Stahlus family which is one of the Orders greatest instustrial producers and developers. His childhood should have been a happy one, and in some way it was with all this wealth he was bought any toy he wanted but something he never had was the attention or affection of his parents who doted and concentrated more on their first child. At a young age he sought to prove himself better than his brother in any field and though sometimes he shined and he received praise from his parents he was never fully able to wrangle the number one spot in the family away from his elder brother.

He was not willing to give up though and he followed his brother and joined the Crusaders and passed the rigorous and downright dangerous tests and exams to be recognised as a Neophyte. His detirmination to be better than his brother pushed him through the ranks and he advanced fast. When he was a Neophyte he obeyed orders during missions and hardly deviated but as he got further up the chain he became more brash and started taking things in his own hands though not too much as to warrant more than several warnings. His actions earned him fame and he eventually abandoned his dream of beating his brother, instead he sought to make his name last in history through his deeds be they heroic or otherwise.

Combat Role: Veteran Conscript. Officially, not any more important than a normal conscript. Unofficially, he acts as a veteran NCO, with other conscripts coming to him for advice and looking to him for leadership... when the commissar isn’t around of course.
Appearance: Miles stands at five foot eight, an average height, and an average build stacked on that height. Entirely unremarkable in profile. He is well muscled by necessity, being in the army will do that to you, but he could have much more muscle mass if his diet were better. Curly brown hair which has been allowed to spread like a jungle adorns his head. Blue eyes are his most striking feature, seconded only by a hawklike beak of a nose. Underneath the dirt, his skin might be white, odds are no one will ever know.
Mile’s uniform is a hodge-podge. He wears a pair of kahki desert pants with a trench-tailored set of canvas pads. A cobalt grey pilot’s turtle-neck and an olive drab trench duster on his upper body. He has long past discarded his issue helmet (which is in use as a cook pot now.) as useless . Every time someone bothers to issue him a new one (not often) it is promptly shot off, cracked or otherwise lost.
Equipment: Miles carries the carbine version of the official conscript rifle... which is exactly the same as the standard but with ‘carbine’ stenciled onto it.
Miles also was entrusted with one of the anti-tank rifles scattered through the ranks. A 14.5 mm cannon which will, if used under maximally effective conditions, bring down a powered armor.
Biography: Miles is an orphan... no, really. Any UDP citizen can generally tell that by his name. ‘Rutherford’ is on the state approved list of substitutive surnames for it’s wards, along with ‘Cartwright’ ‘Winslow’ and a dozen others. Mile’s parent’s were part of a pseudo-religious cult. Pacifists, but not vocal about it and otherwise good citizens who payed there taxes, so they were ignored... for a while. Then Mile’s older sister Lilith took her academic entrance exam, and placed at a level that made most prodigies look like retarded gophers. The state had a great many uses for smart children, so the secret police used the families religious ties as an easy excuse to round up the entire family.
Something went wrong. Someone fought back. A commissar panicked and shot up the place. The parents were dead right off the bat, but somewhere in all the ruckus, a stray bullet hit seven year old Lilith, putting her in critical condition. The girl was taken to the military hospital, and a two year old Miles became a ward of the state. UDP medical technology being as abysmal as it is, the little girl died, but not before the state got at least one use out of her. Lilith’s brain pattern was scanned shortly before death, and her personality lifted. She was used as the personality core for a new AI designed to mimic her personality and aptitudes. Meanwhile, Miles grew up. From a state orphanage there is only one place anyone can go.
At the age of seventeen, Miles joined the army, and that’s when his ‘sister’ found him. She couldn't get him out of the army, not for lack of administrative power, she was in charge of logistics and tactics for three legions and Miles would have been easily lost. The reason she couldn’t was because the state ran all jobs. If you weren’t registered, you didn’t exist. If you didn’t exist, you couldn’t eat. So, instead she has, unknown to him this entire time, simply weighted the odds in his favor. Countless times, his units were able to hold when no one else could because equipment got strategically ‘lost’ in his general direction. A combination of his sisters support, and his own audacity has kept him alive much longer than most conscripts could dream of. And he doesn’t even know she exists.

Personality:
Even with all the killing she never seems to lose her good mood, seemingly able to just shrug off the horrors of war. Highly committed to her duty, she will not disobey any orders given, as long as it is within reason. Even when it seems all hope is lost, she will never give up if she thinks she has a chance. She is prone to singing, regardless of where she is, or what she is doing. In battle, during guard duty, she will sing, and sing.
Biography: She was conscripted during the age of 15, given basic training and shoved onto the battlefield, where she quickly picked up her survival skills. As many around her falls, and more take their place, she never has enough time to make any friends as none of them lived very long. Thus she does not make the effort to meet anyone. The only one she ever talked to was her younger brother, who was also the first person she has ever seen died. Since then she was filled with hatred for the Terrans(short for Order of Terra?) though she never seem to show it, though whenever she sings some reports to have seen her cry.
3 years in the battlefield has made her emotionally detached, unaffected by the gristly aftermath. And earned her a nickname, "Valkyrie". The origin of the name was never known as the namer died in battle. Nonetheless the name stuck, and hence forth she was known as Valkyrie, even by the higher ranking officers. After managing to destroy a heavily entrenched bunker (by sheer luck), she was promoted to Legionaire, and granted privileges of her office.
Valkyrie commands her cohorts skillfully, applying her experiences to help her charges live longer, applying the best possible tactic to minimize losses especially in no-retreat situations.

Reaper Armor: Made of very synthetic material that can deflect a bullet. The material used absorbed the bullets velocity and displaces it, this stops the bullets from puncturing but also hurts like hell. The Raper suet has a built in clocking device that can blend in with its surroundings. This function is limited and not very effective. The suet becomes distorted and ineffective if the user moves to quick such as walking and running. The cloaking device works best at night or in dim light.

Combat blades: Vaiden has a large range of bladed weapons each of which are made of condensed steel that can penetrate almost any armor with ease.

SPecOp Blast Carbine: A rifle that doubles as a scatter gun.

Biography: Born to a Noble family he was sent away to military school at a very young age. He excelled in hand to hand combat especially with a blade in hand. He developed a sadistic taste for blood very early in his life. His life in military school was cruel and difficult which only got worse when he graduated to full fledged military when he was 18. By this time he was a ruthless killer without remorse that followed orders without question.

His superiors seen his combat capabilities and pushed him into the SpecOps corp. He passed every test he was given with ease and was allowed special training while in the SpecOps. He rose in the ranks fast being a superb marksman and an even better close combat fighter. His skills in stealth and survival was unmatched by anyone in the corps.

Due to his skills he was assigned to a assassin squad of sorts. Officially these assassins did not exist on paper but their brutal tactics were know on both sides. Each member was given a nickname and their identities kept secret at all times. Vaiden gained the nickname Reaper for his merciless tactics and the skull helmet he wears in combat. The Reaper is usually called in to turn the tide of battle and demoralize enemy troops.

Beneath the armour Kilus is quite a tall man who stands at six feet. His body is more toned and slender than muscled, he relies more on his agility and dexterity and uses technology to make up the difference in strength. Like for example his Power Armour and right arm which is in fact robotic, just covered in fake flesh. This arm provides enhanced strength and a few other 'perks' like a small, in built, monomolecular saw and a finger plasma torch.

His skin is quite pale, having little contact with sunlight than isnt dangerous. His black hair flows down to his neck like a lions mane, his bangs parted away from his genetically enhanced eyes. The enhancements provide him with better eyesight, allowing him to see clearly up to 1500 metres in clear day, up to 1000 in night however even his eyes cannot help him much when he is on the dark side of a planet.
