Doctor held Jack close and sighed again, letting Jack sob as much as he wanted, rubbing his back, wiping his cheek from time to time. "He knew that you tried your best.." He murmured, leaving kisses in Jack's hair again and rose up his chin so their eyes met. "Everyone probably knows that." He whispered reassuringly, pressing their foreheads together and sighing once again. He suddenly felt so useless.

Jack tok a deep shuddering breath as he managed to pull away from the Doctor. He turned back to the body and carefully lifted one of the cold lifeless hands and slipped the stopwatch beneath it. Jack then slowly lent in to kiss Ianto's cold lips one final time, "Good bye Jones, Ianto Jones," he turned to the Doctor taking his hand and Gwen's in the other.

"I'll give you a lift to the burial," Gwen smiled softly.

Jack nodded numbly, "So many people..." he looked at the crowds paying their last respects.

Gwen smiled, "Ianto is a hero. He helped save the children."

Jack smiled softly, "Yeah, he is."

It wasn't usual that the Doctor let himself be pulled about. But he wasn't going to start that little gripe right now. Jack needed him. Or atleast he kept telling himself that. He sighed and let Jack saying his loving good bye before his hand was grabbed.

"It's good to know that a good man can be put to rest by everyone he helped" Doctor commented, stroking his thumb across the back of Jack's hand lovingly. He looked along the crowds and saw so many, almost warmed his hearts. Mixed feelings about his first funeral.. Then he remembered the other one as well. He didn't say anything, wanting Jack to take things at his own time and not rush anything. They did have a time machine after all...

The burial was much more private, it was just friends and family. The coffin was slowly lowered into the ground and everyone threw dirt onto it. The head stone read:

Ianto Jones
August 19th 1983 - October 3rd 2009

Loving brother, uncle and friend.
Hero.


When the coffin was buried and people began to depart. Jack embraced Gwen and farewelled her. He took the Doctor's hand and headed back towards the TARDIS.

Once inside Jack wrapped his arms around the Doctor, "Thank you," he whispered.

Doctor kept his distance at the burial, feeling out of place amoung people that really knew Ianto.

Though asthings progessed, Doctor got close enough for Jack to grab his hands when things were done. The silent walk back to the TARDIS was probably the most awkward moment.

His arms held Jack close, nuzzling him softly and smiled slightly "You're welcome.." He sighed, rocking him both gently and offering out his leather chair for them both to sit on.

Jack gratefully sat down with the Doctor still holding onto him, "I actually feel a lot better now," he said softly breathing in his Doctor's scent. It was as if a great weight was off his shoulders and he could breath properly again.

Doctor stroked through Jack's hair and looked down to him softly. "Good..." He murmured gratefully, not wanting to make that pun that a grumpy Jack was no fun. He kissed his forehead softly and pulled him closer.

Jack took a deep breath, "I hate funerals and I still have another one to attend," he kept his body pressed to the Doctor's. He sniffed,"And this one will be harder."

Doctor nodded "Yeah. I'm not that much of a huge fan of them either" he murmured, looking down into Jack's eyes and kissed his cheek lovingly. "Don't worry. I'll be there every step of the way" He smiled softly.

Jack smiled, "Thank you. So do we want to just get this over with?" He took a deep breath Steven's funeral is the twenty ninth of October," he swallowed, "A little church in Cardiff. Saint Mary's."
