Starship Troopers: The Bug War OOC

It started out as a "state of heightened awareness", as the government called it. However, any cap trooper worth his shit knows that's a load of bullshit. Truth is, we've been at war with the Arachnids for decades by this point. The government just didn't officially state it to keep the civilians calm. However, when the bugs attacked Terra and wiped Buenos Ares off the map, that's when it became a "state of emergency", though, by that point, any civilian smart enough to think for himself would know that we were now at war with them. Even the Skinnies have unofficially allied with the Federation, and we've been pushing them to make it official. This is war, and it ain't pretty. Get used to it, because your term ain't ending anytime soon.

So basically, this RP will focus on a single Mobile Infantry outfit known as Harker's Hecklers. While we're not Rasczak's Roughnecks, we'll still be one of the best outfits out there. There's not exactly what I'd call a plot, because we'll be playing a single MI outfit out of thousands, though a plot could come up later one. An option I've considered is that the Hecklers will be trying to climb up and get recognition alongside the Roughnecks. I will allow people from other outfits, though they will be looked at as outsiders and not get the same respect as a soldier that's been in the outfit for many a drop. Because, in the MI, your experience is not measured in years. It's measured in drops.

Combat Style: Spartan is known for his lightning fast and devastatingly accurate strikes. He is at home at the front of the battlefield were the adrenaline runs high. Despite his exponential kill count he is usually the first to be found in the medic bay, how he is still alive is a mystery to most.

I'd put him in 1st Squad, 1st Section, to be honest. Wherever he goes, he'll get just as many opportunities to kill a bunch of bugs.

Also, forgot to mention that the bugs do use guns here. They're not true insects, just an insectile race.

Nah... I don't like to lead things in Rp's unless its something I know a lot about it. I've seen all the movies and even the second one... But I have never read the book.
