Right, here's the Character sheet for my character.

Name: Allen C. Marks

Appearance: A young man of 22 years, Allen stands at 167.6 cm (around 5' 6") while weighing around 141 lbs. He's built like a runner, slim but with trimmed muscles and tanned skin which stands as a testament to his passion for adventure. On his head rests a tidy shock of brown hair and a pair of hazel-brown eyes, he seems to be wearing a serious expression most of the time. He's a fairly attractive man, despite his solemn demeanor.

Attire:
He wears a sleeveless, white shirt tucked into a comfortable pair of fatigue pants. A black, leather belt with a polished steel buckle wraps around the waistline securely. The hems are tucked into a pair of sturdy, black leather hiking boots. He wears a brown leather trench coat over the ensemble to ward off the cold and rain. He also has a pouch strapped to his belt for miscellaneous things as well as another for a canteen, which he carries from time to time.

In combat:
Hardened leather armor covers his torso with the sleeves reaching down halfway across his bicep. A long-sleeved, cotton shirt, which is worn underneath the whole of the armor, serves as his undershirt. The lower hem of the shirt is tucked into a pair of sturdy, loose pants whose cuffs are tucked into a pair of leather boots. Fingerless gloves adorn Allen's hands and a long traveling coat is worn over the ensemble. Said cloak is colored after the hues of the wild, making it very good camouflage in outdoor terrain.

Bio:
Allen is born as the eldest of four siblings with his father being a supervisor or an assistant vice president (Allen always kept forgetting which.) in one of the more successful independent Mana Engineering firms whom the Library would give commissions to from time to time. When Allen was young, his mother had her hands full raising up the lad along with his siblings as her husband was away for long stretches of time due to his work. This resulted in the young man becoming close to his mother, along with his two siblings. He tried his best to be connect with his father, despite the difficulties, when the latter had settled for a desk job in order to watch the kids.

As a child, Allen did not get along very well with other children of his age and often ended in fights with the bigger kids as a result. Due to this, the lad took to reading books for solace. He became fascinated with the stories of faraway lands, of perilous yet exciting journeys and of the people who undertook such ventures. This would later influence his interests as he took to outdoor activities in his adolescence: hunting, hiking, and the like. He loved to explore, and to experience the same things that the heroes of his childhood had undergone. His parents had other plans, however, and had enrolled him in a local University to study in the same field as his father. Not wanting to break his parents' wishes, he consented to it and was already past his first year in the course when he had a change of heart.

He had heard of the Library's Mercenary Branch, their exploits and the benefits of joining such a well-known group. It was at this time, when he was having serious trouble with keeping up with his studies, that he knew just what his profession would be. After meeting initial resistance from both parents, it took nearly a year's worth of convincing before both his father and mother gave in to his pleas. At the age of 19, he signed up for the Mercenary Branch and after passing a series of rigorous trials, some of them by the skin of his teeth, that he passed the selection process and was shipped off to training. With a heartfelt goodbye to his family, he went off to start his new life as one of the Library's (eventual) holders. The next three years of training would be hard on the young man but he didn't care because to him, the hardships he faced were more than worth enduring in order to fulfill his dreams.

At the end of this, Allen was finally inducted into the Library's Mercenary Branch as a Pawn. After his mandatory Mana-infusion (and a week-or-so's worth of rest), Allen set off, his destiny now within his hands...

Personality:

Aerin comes off as calm, composed and wise as befitting of a Goddess. Being a Caretaker of Nature, she is very particular about how Allen utilizes the resources that can be found in the wilderness (and how he treats it in general). She is not, however, fanatical unlike your typical wildlife preservation group. She acknowledges that mankind can and may use the bounties of the Forest, just as all the other animals do; she is, however, appalled at their wasteful exploitation. She is also a bit of a romantic (and a pervert), having witnessed quite a number of couples romance each other under her hallowed boughs. She likes to tease her Holder at times, owing to the young man’s serious demeanor.

Background:

A minor Goddess of the Forest, Aerin came to be with Allen after the latter’s numerous trips into the forest had garnered her attention. Most of the people who had come to her domain had done so to cut down her trees or to poach her animals in excess, threatening the balance that she had worked so hard to maintain. Allen, on the other hand, had explored her lands in his various adventures. He had a habit of packing only what he needed and doing only what was necessary, leaving little, if any, unwanted clutter in his wake. She eventually came like the young man and his unspoken respect for her forest, taking upon herself the role of his unseen guardian.

As an embodiment of Nature, Aerin has no particular form and merely chose her present one, born out of Allen’s imagination, so that she would come off as more familiar to her Holder. Aerin serves as Allen’s mentor and protector; dispensing advice with regards to living in the wilderness as well as in general. She also serves as the voice of reason and practicality to the inexperienced Pawn, especially in situations where her experience shines through.

Weapons/Spells:

Aerin’s Blade: An adorned, well-balanced blade. It serves as Allen’s close-quarters weapon, useful for stabbing and hacking foes and foliage alike. Damage is dictated by POW. Allen may or may not use his favourite knife in conjunction but it is only cosmetic story-wise. Appearance


Gaia’s Sting: A well-made longbow made using choice wood from Aerin's forest, it is covered with intricate etchings along the body and it is useful for sniping/ general long-range fighting but not so much in a melee. Arrows coalesce into existence as Allen draws the bow whose damage rating is dictated by POW.
Apperance (Left-most bow)

Nature’s Grasp: Green, translucent tendrils form from Allen’s wrists, extending his reach considerably. The tentacles act like any other limb, giving Allen an extension of his own body; his arms to be specific. The tendril’s physical endurance/ strength is determined by POW while Allen’s ability to control them is dictated by SPI and his current mental state.

UPDATE #1: Allen gets +1 SPI for completing the Companion achievement as well as 4 free STAT points from the Monster Ball/ Attempted Coup mission.

Nice CS there. But I think for a pawn, your stats total should be 5 instead of 7. I might be wrong though. Might want to check that with Kest or Rilla.

Question though, how am I going to sign up for the missions? Can I participate in any of the ongoing ones or do I have to sign up for one of the available ones?

Also, how does this all work? I've read the first part of the OOC thread but it doesn't say just how I go about participating in the IC thread.

Just post what mission you're interested in and Kestrel or Rilla will see if you can join the mission. Most likely you'll join the mission, though survival of your char is really depending on your creativity being better than their creativity over thinking how to kill your character.
