Well, I agree it's slow, but I don't really mind.

I'd no issues with it actually..

But since every mission is getting tougher, the slow progress may be a disadvantage to the characters.. IMO..

    Suggestions though;
    • More points after mission completion, maybe? (1st mission awarded with default points, 2nd mission awarded with a +2, 3rd with a +3 and so on...) ((Just a thought))
    • Reward skill /Perk/ that is on list or not on list, perhaps? (Just so that the character could cope with the enemies in the missions.)
    • Or Mission comes with skill points reward which is = to toughness of mission?
I'll throw more in if I have any in the future..

I just want a bit more skill points. Couldn't care so much about stats, aside from the fact that they limit skill learning as well. I'm just saying, what's the use of the progression system when we have practically no use of it after quite some time of playing?

Ah... Tougher or... Different? Everything was practically handed to you guys the first batch, these missions require a little... Thinking. Or in Rug's case, someone needs to start the damn action :P

Don't get what you mean by this.

This one I'd like to rule out in advance. The reasoning for this is that there's no real penalty for failing a mission, so essentially easily exploitable. I like to give people the option to be weaker than the rest, because it's them who choose to be. I'd like to avoid giving people the choice to be stronger than everyone else, however, because in a game like this one that leads to trouble 9 out of 10 times (been there, done that.) Not saying anyone currently in the game would start such a thing, but let's call it a safety measure; just in case.

If one goes up the other is bound to go up also. Balancing thing. I'd explain it, but it's boring number-crunching :P

    Anyway, carry on.

LOL.. As I said, I'd no issue.. I love the challenges.. I'm just saying that others might think its tough/different..

    As for the suggestion there,

Maybe one out 3 missions or so could probably reward the players with a skill..

And the one ruled out, -nods, understood-

You can pick up on SKILLS whenever you gathered enough points. You could do it mid-mission for all I care (though an OOC-notice would be nice.) Character upgrades aside those... Well let's just say you're closer than you think you are...

    All done.

    Name: Alexi de Bassitan
Appearance: Alexi is tall but medium-sized, with a thick chest but thin shoulders. He is generally clad in a leather navy-blue greatcoat with gold trimming, but when going into battle he adds a few extra pieces. Beneath his greatcoat he wears black, loose pants and boots, and a blue shirt.
Alexi have medium-length jet-black hair, pulled back from his forehead in an elegant manner. His eyes are a murky blue, with just a hint of green, and tend to reflect emotion, not reveal it. His face is handsome, but a bit hawklike, with a largish nose and a stong but pointy chin.
Bio: Alexi was born in the lap of luxury. His family, the Bassitans, were descendants of famed pirates, who passed down enormous amounts of wealth to their more business-minded family members. A direct heir to the enormous treasure trove, his father reared him well, making sure not to spoil him and to give him the skills to excel.

One day, however, Alexi's father made a critical mistake. A team of highly-skilled conman and theives managed to infiltrate his father's company and steal away Alexi's inheritance. Alexi's father was forced to close the company, and had to sell off all his assets to pay off the debts. Ironically, the day Alexi was supposed to become a multimillionaire was the first day Alexi had to work for someone besides his father.

Despite his rich-boy upbringing, Alexi was hardworking and skilled. Already a Holder, his strength and combat training soon attracted the attention of the library, who offered him a job. Alexi signed up without a second thought.
    Branch: Mercenary

    Holder: Rook
Spirit: Louis de Bassitan, infamous pirate captain and one of Alexi's ancestors.

    Weapons:
    • Dual Cutlasses: Two pirate's blades, meant for vicious chopping and slicing.
    • Captain's Pistol: A powerful, old-fashioned pistol that fires a single, powerful shot.
    • Rapier: A pointy rapier, excellent for stabbing through defenses. Light and sharp, it's the perfect fencing foil.

    Skills:
    • Jump
    Skill points: 5

    Name: James Longfellow
Appearance: James is a little bit of a taller man, standing at about 6' even. He weighs about 160 lbs and is pretty thin. His muscles aren't toned very well, but he's by no means gangly, more athletic than anything else. His skin and eyes are a very dark brown color and he sports a small black afro. On top of this afro, he usually wears a black trilby with white trim. Most of his manner of dress is fancy, and he chooses to wear a black pin-striped vest over a white button-up shirt and black trousers and belt to match. Of course, it is complemented by his black and white spats, purple tie, and dark aviator sunglasses. He's 32 years of age and has a deep, soothing voice.
Bio: James Longfellow was the cherished son of a schoolteacher and an automechanic. He didn't have a poor upbringing, but it wasn't the high life either. He was and is very intelligent and he was fortunate enough to be accepted by the Library for in depth study. He wasn't able to converse with his spirit until he was about 25, but when he was he kept it a secret. His chosen studies were Psychology and Sociology, and he is very proficient in both, seeing as he loves the human mind. After a few years of studying he took on a job in the Public Relations department, using what he learned to affect how the general population viewed them. Once it was discovered that he could see unseen entities, he was recruited to be mercenary in addition to his normal job.
Personality: Most of how James is can be described in a single word: smooth. He is cool, calm, and collected at all times, emphasis on cool. He can easily read people, but usually keeps his judges to himself. He is very charismatic, but being friendly will usually depend on who is talking to him at the moment. He is a connoisseur of the ladies, but isn't a big romantic and won't flirt with everything he sees. He enjoys the blues and classical music, along with books and parties. Most people tend to like him and he has a naturally dominant personality.
Branch: Other than Mercenary, Public Relations

    Holder: Bishop
Spirit: Thor, the Norse god of thunder.

He is very noble and virtuous, and will hold James to the highest standards. James and Thor will usually never clash on an issue, but when they do James tends to ignore him.

    Weapons/Spells:
    • Lightning Bolt: Just as the name alludes, James can create lightning to fly forth from his fingertips.
    • Battle Cry: The fighting spirit of all allies who hear it is heightened to a fever pitch, raising their POW by 1 for as long as they can remain untouched by the enemy. All foes who hear it are gripped with fear and their AGI drops by 1 until they are able to strike a player.
    • Wind Armor: The Norse god of storms is able to summon a cloak of wind to protect the user, cutting damage by 33%. This bonus is constantly active, but can only target one player at a time. The default recipient of this buff is James.
    Skills:
    • Smell
    Skill points: 1/4

Starting February and lasting a few months I'll be doing camp guard, so I'll be on and off sporadically. Fair warning.

As another shameless plug, here's my newest Advanced RP: Operation Golden Thread, a futuristic military RP.

Hey guys, thanks for the profiles!

@Corporal Lance There's a few minor things about James I need to nitpick on.
    • The Library could offer such a scholarship to James, seeing as they're also pretty spot-on with education and offer jobs to researchers and scientists too, but outside of that he'd prolly not get that kind of chance unless he'd become an apprentice to someone.
    • Terms like MSc and and PHd don't exist yet, but I'm totally cool with James having these sorts of skills and knowledge.
    • Seeing and summoning spirits isn't something you learn to do. The ability is pretty much a magic ability. It is possible though that it was dormant and didn't manifest until later.

So as you can see nothing major to change, just keeping on the same page here. I do really like that you got a Bishop, since we're lacking them, and the support skills are a nice touch. We had a dude playing support... But then we kinda shot him out of the air and then blew his head off when he stopped posting altogether :P

@heroguy looks fine. Just take note the Hub doesn't even touch the sea, but it's fine if your character's family moved from another country that did. No need to change anything, just wanted to give you that info. Welcome aboard, yarrrr!

    @both
Other than that though, both look cool, guys. Also because both of you are joining a bit late, take a free stat and skill point.
