Eva looked up when she heard the boy's voice again, this time softer and gentler. She sheepishly looked down, then back up at him, trying her best to speak, which was hard. She hadn't hardly had any water and hadn't spoken in ten years. She still tried though, struggling, "E...ev.....Eva..." Finally she gave up. Really her name was longer, but she didn't think she could talk that much for the moment, so she would just stick to Eva for now.

It was rather pathetic but what could Walro expect from a race that turned their own world into a garbage heap? The whole place was rather disgusting and this girl was dirty enough to match. “Eva?” It seemed a bit too short to be a full name but it didn’t look like she wanted to say much more. He reached for his side but rather then grab his gun he took hold of the container dangling down near it instead. “You must be thirsty.”

Lifting the canteen over his head he held it out to her, swinging it back and forth in his hand so the water could be heard swishing around inside. “Tell me… are you the only one of your kind left on this planet?”

When Eva saw him reach to his side, she flinched back, thinking he was going to grab the gun on his side, but relaxed just a bit when he grabbed the container, hearing the liquid swish around inside of it. She straightened up and hesistantly reached up, cautiously taking hold of it and looking at it, then at him, then back at it before she opened it and sure enough it was water. She drunk about half of it and gave the other have to the puppy before looking back at him, holding out the container for him to take.

For a moment Walro was silent, it was obvious that she was sucking his water up like a dying fish and her pet really wasn’t much better. He watched her pour the rest of it into its mouth with displeasure. When he offered her some he hadn’t meant all. He took it back looking down into the empty container with a frown before returning it his side.

He understood how things in life worked, that if you wanted answers it was sometimes better to show compassion then to threaten the person, that didn’t mean he liked it though. Once more he asked his previous question. “Are you the last human here?” He hoped that she could talk now that she had had something to drink.

Eva nodded very lightly, trying to find the right word in her head to say. She hadn't spoken to anyone in so long that she had to think for a moment before she answered, "Y...yes." She spoke, smiling as her puppy licked her cheek. She gently petted it, then looked back at him, frowning lightly, wondering what he was doing there. Why would someone come back to this dead planet?

That at least made things easier on his mission. Large groups of people often meant there would be politics and governments to deal with. It would make finding one measly little plant almost impossible. He nodded idly, the action mostly to himself as he stood to his feet. “I am looking for something. Is there any plants around here?” It occurred to him that she may not even know what that was. While they appeared to speak the same language, aside from different accents, her vocabulary seemed lacking thus far. He hoped that he just wasn’t giving her enough credit and she would lead him to what he seeked.

"Plants...?" She asked, a little confused. That word was not at all familier to her. She looked at him and finally stood up, still holding the dog close to her, "What...does it look like?" Maybe if she knew what it looked like. Maybe then she would know if she had seen it or not. She didn't know what he wanted this 'plant' for, but she was pretty sure she didn't need it, whatever it was.

Clearly he was correct in thinking she wouldn’t understand. With a sigh he turned his back to her and shuffled through a nearby pile of scraps. It took him several moments but finally he found what he was looking for- a thin piece of metal. “It’s usually green.”

He came over to stand by her- crouching down and using the piece of metal to begin drawing lines in the dirt. Gradually they began to form a picture. The long stem of the plant and the round leafs branching off. “It should look something like this, though its shape often varies.” He glanced sideways at her. “Look familiar?”

Eva was quite confused at first when he began to draw, but when he was done, her face immidiently lit up. She had seen that before! In fact, she knew exactly where it was!

She looked at him, and then, holding the puppy in on arm and tugging him along with her free hand, she took him to the place she lived. It was just a old moving truck that had a matress and her 'collection' inside. Her collection was just things she thought was interesting. She pushed some of the things aside and pulled out the plant. It was just a simple plant with a small blue flower on it, put in a old tin can so the soil wouldn't fall away. She held it out to him.

The expression that came across Eva’s face caused him to raise an eyebrow at her. Was she just excited about the drawing or did she actually know what that was? It was awhile before he found out either way. She had lead him along by the hand but he didn’t protest because she might be leading him to it right now. He really did hope she wasn’t dragging him further off course….

The moving truck didn’t look very promising and her collection of junk was even less so. His gaze traveled from one corner to the next as Eva went to digging through her stuff. He had no real interest in touching anything since most of it looked like garbage. When Eva came back to him his eyes fixed upon the plant noting how very small it was. “Is that it?” It was probably still enough to use their technology to produce more at least.
