Across the Stars

She frowned when he didn't seem that much excited about the plant that she showed him. It was the only one she had ever seen. It wasn't like she could find another one. Still, even though he didn't seem too happy about the plant, she handed it to him, shyly taking a step back after. He didn't seem very happy being in her home, so she would let him go if he wanted.

She walked over, setting things back up on on their shelves, nd putting things back in place before she sat on her matteress, petting her puppy.

After a second or two Walro shifted the tin can into one hand and pulled the device from earlier out of his pocket. As he held it up in front of the plant a blue light appeared- scanning it up and down from flower to roots then the screen began to fill up with codes. For a moment it was visibly working out equations and then it spoke up an airy woman voice: “Plant- near seeding.” An image appeared on the screen- showing the blue flower drying out and seeds coming from it.

A sincere smile made its way onto Walro’s face. He’d done it without even having to spend more then a day here. No doubt that everything would be perfect when he brought this home and as such he turned to leave the truck.

She looked up when he scanned the plant and just sighed, getting up from her bed and opening the door of the truck, seeing it was getting close to being dark. She looked at the boy again and slowly spoke, "Getting dark." She stated, pointing outside, then looking back at him. She was sure he would probably want to leave before then, but couldn't be very sure.

“Yeah… it is.” Walro agreed dimly as he looked out through the door. A sort of twilight had fallen over the land- causing the huge heaps of scrap metal to shine like gold. There was only one thing that kept him from leaving now and that was the human. At this point, he knew he’d feel the crushing weight of guilt if he just abandoned her. She was the only one of her kind left on this planet and probably deserved better then that.

He didn’t want to take her back with him though, his father probably wouldn’t approve. Finally he stepped out of the door of the truck- making his way back to his ship. He didn’t necessarily have to leave this planet tonight. He could always figure things out tomorrow.

Eva watched sadly as the boy left, walking off, probably going back to his ship to leave. she sighed and closed the door of the truck, walking over to her mattress, laying down, waiting to hear the sound of the ship, but didn't. It was then that she figured that he was probably leaving the next morning. Leaving her there. Alone. She was always alone, so it shouldn't rea;;y bother her right?

But, he came from a planet full of people, right? If she went with him, then she could meet other people! She smiled at the thought and closed her eyes, falling asleep.

As it turned out his sleep was rather restless despite his accomplishment. The plant was put into a small holding chamber and he would be able to bring home as soon as he was ready to leave. Even so he felt odd… guilty… The issue of the human wasn’t really his problem but she was still on his mind when he finally hit the world of slumber.

Morning seemed to come too quickly and he started through his list as soon as he rose from his cot. He had to make sure everything was prepared for his departure. Stretching out a bit like a cat he had stepped down the ship’s ramp onto the sandy earth once more. His checklist was rather short- he just had to make sure that no damage had come to his vessel upon landing yesterday.

Eva woke the next morning and went outside, walking toward the pace where she had seen the ship land the day before and sure enough, it was still there. She walked up to it, walking around it. It was so big and shiny. It definantly stood out compared to the rest of the surroundings. She continued to walk around it, looking at it curiously, but then gasped as she bumped into the boy from yesterday.

She quickly took a step back, looking at him, a sheepish look on her face, giving a small wave.

Walro had been walking around the ship as well as he checked for damage. He must have been going the opposite way as the girl because when he stopped for a moment she walked right into him. Looking over at her he regarded her for a moment before letting out a sigh. Apparently she wanted to come- what other reason would she examining his ship? “You might as well come inside.” He said gesturing at the ramp.

When he guestured toward the inside of the ship, she carefully walked inside, looking around amazed by all the things that were there. Everything was so bright and shiny and alot of things were blinking. She went over to the control panal, looking at it, but didn't for long. It was all so confusing to look at, so she just looked at other things, but then gasped as something popped up in front of her.

It was a robot. She looked at it curiously and was suprised when it spoke, "Forien Contaminent. Need to clean." She was then dragged off by the robot, into a different room. She wasn't really sure what happened next because it was all so fast. Her clothes were taken, she was wet by a lot of water, then she was put into new clothes, a dress that apperiently people on Walro's planet wore, and her blonde hair, which was now a lot cleaner and silkier, was combed, letting it flow down to her waist.

Once she was done, the robot dragged her over to a mirror, letting her see herself. She was suprised. She had never seen herself like this. All the dirt and red dust was washed off of her, and she was all cleaned. She looked like a normal human. She actually even looked beautiful. She brushed her long hair behind her ear.

She then walked back out, looking at the boy.

By the time Walro had finished his check and returned inside the girl was no where to be seen. He figured the robot must have dragged her off to be cleaned. As such he moved over to the console and began resetting the coordinates to his home planet. His fingers flicked across a holographic screen before he finished up and closed out of it. In all honesty the ship was pretty capable of doing most tasks itself but Walro liked to double check that all the information was right.

He let out a sigh and turned around to slump back against the console when he spotted the girl and froze in the middle of the action. His elbow sliding off the console causing him to straighten quickly so he wouldn’t fall. “You look pretty good.” He informed her.
