@assa 'it' being what exactly? the rp?

    @toad good to hear that^^

the problem with awesome roleplays is they attract awesome players, and the problem with having awesome players is they usually fuck up in awesome ways, and require awesome explanations to correct their awesome mistakes.

Well, of course, nothing builds anticipation like character and setting discussion.

    *chuckles*

well, The city is called Fortuna. It is a city founded by angelic, demigod like beings called Heirarchs several hundred years ago. The Heirarchs were the ones who taught humans the magical arts in return for their servitude. Thanks to the appearance of the Heirarchs, magical creatures from all over the world were also able to come out of hiding as well as grow and thrive alongside humanity. Fortuna itself was eventually separated into three districts. The east belonged to the Order of the Winged Blade, a knighthood that served as the guardians of Fortuna and defended its lands against those foolish 'barbarians' who refused to submit to the rule of the Heirarchs and denied magic entirely. The order did not believe in the channeling of magic through one's own body in order to cast spells, instead they relied on Magical machines to do so for them. as such they developed a great deal of incredible magi-tech ranging from magical cannons, to enchanted swords, to blessed armor, to flying magical vehicles.

In the western part of Fortuna, however resided the Mages of The Brotherhood of Arcane Wisdom. They fully devoted themselves to every teaching of the Heirarchs and hungrily pursued knowledge on all magical arts, some of them even turning their bodies into living conduits of magical energy in order to bring themselves closer to their Heirarch masters.

The last district was a great ivory fortress in the middle of the city, named The Citadel, inaccessible to all but the winged Heirarchs themselves. No one truly knew what happened within The Citadel, they only knew that it was the most sacred of places, never to be defiled by the presence of humans, and that it generated more magical energy than any other structure found anywhere in the world/

Save for the great chasm and high walls surrounding The Citadel, however, the districts were not separated by distinct lines, and, as such, the two areas north and south of the citadel were the eastern and western districts met evolved into residential sub-districts as well, aptly named Northton and Southton.

Northton was where the elites resided. The most beautiful works of architecture outside of The Citadel could be found there and bourgeoisie was the norm. It was also where the great Fortunan Colosseum, the absolute epicenter of all fine arts, was constructed.

Southton was more of an urban center. It was inhabited by the less wealthy residents who weren't too keen on staying too deep with either of the two main districts. It was also the main entertainment district where all sorts of bars, clubs, restaurants, theaters and what-have-yous were constructed for the pleasure of it denizens

That, was Fortuna, the Utopian city of the Heirarchs in its golden age.

the problem with awesome roleplays is they attract awesome players, and the problem with having awesome players is they usually fuck up in awesome ways, and require awesome explanations to correct their awesome mistakes.

Definitely interested, and I'm completely fine with my character dying. I do have a couple of questions though, such as the role of our characters in the factions and the types of magic used by each faction. To elaborate, will our characters be leaders of the faction, acting as "commanders", or will we be simple members and act mostly independently, attacking other factions as we wish?

I intend to leave many important spots open
so yes, certain characters will be able to play the respective leaders of their factions. similarly, players can also chose to play a character that is nearly completely independent and simply got swallowed up in the war.

also, when I explain each faction in the OOC, I will make it quite clear what technologies and weaponry are available to them.

i will also make a specific list of what schools of magic exist in this world and will limit characters to only being able to practice a limited amount of types to avoid people getting OP with it.

the problem with awesome roleplays is they attract awesome players, and the problem with having awesome players is they usually fuck up in awesome ways, and require awesome explanations to correct their awesome mistakes.

Buio old pal thanks for the link to this. To be honest when you first posted that link about an RP you made I was only going to check it out to humour you because I didn't feel like joining another one but shit man I like the idea so I'll bite.

If you're alright with my time being availability being a little....tight because of the fact that I've got college and the girlfriend to look after right now then I'm totally up for this. Well as long as you have no problem with me playing a character that fits my usual villainous tastes.

awesome^^ we finally have enough people interested to justify an OOC, good thing i got started on it yesterday. I'll have it set up ASAP. It will include quite a bit of information however, so if all goes well it should be up within the next two or three days.

@val. I knew exactly what i was doing when i sent you the invite my friend. I realize you're quite busy (you ARE GMing my old rp after all). and i would expect nothing less than for you to play the most hateable and fucked up villain, the likes of which would make rarren himself cower under his bed. They say a story can only be as interesting as the antagonist that propels it, well an rp can only be as immersible as is evil the co-GM that does everything in his power to fuck up the GM's plans and keep him on his toes.

in other words, you're basically like the perfect anti-me, and i'd prefer to have no one else hold a knife to my back^^

the problem with awesome roleplays is they attract awesome players, and the problem with having awesome players is they usually fuck up in awesome ways, and require awesome explanations to correct their awesome mistakes.
