    Multiverse: You are the Character

You and everyone else is sent spiraling through the eternities of cyberspace, numbers, letters and other coding characters drift by here and there, strings of such characters all shoot to and fro, but rest assured there is method to the madness. You feel out of place in all the chaos, no ground to stand on, no air to breathe, you do not know if you are coming or going, rising or falling, swimming or flying.

Suddenly you notice a tear in the AEther. A portal, perhaps? Could it be a way out? You would swim toward the portal, but it seems to come and go to too many places at once, shifting here, and there, and everywhere. Or is it you who is shifting to and fro? You do not even know anymore. But soon enough, you and everyone else are consumed by the gaping hole. You and all the other avatars are suddenly vomited from cyberspace and into a new realm.

    ******

This new world looks similar to that of your own, but of a different part of the world. No, it seems more like you have went back in history. The brine scent of seawater fills the air, and there are people near your group. Not that many, but they are all wearing old european-style clothing. They are staring at you and your group oddly, some of them even looked frightened.

Tsunade looked at her new form. Despite the fact that she chose her own avatar, she was surprised at her new look. And she liked it, too. The saturated colors in her skin and clothing made her stand out a lot from her surroundings, and then she noticed so did some of her allies, too. Still remaining calm and not acknowledging the townspeople around her just yet, she scanned her surroundings and sniffed the air, taking in the smell of what she guessed was beach air or seawater. She guessed the town was near a port, or a beach or something.

Tsunade looked at her allies, then at the people staring at her group. She just looked at them. No emotion showed, but she was momentarily indecisive. She did not know whether to bluntly blurt out something like 'the hell are you people starin' at?' or to just walk away and start exploring. Or she could explain the truth to them, but like hell they would believe her. Perhaps they would, for there was no other explanation available as to why a bunch of out of context characters would suddenly pop up in the middle of nowhere, fallen out from a torn fabric in space. How else was she supposed to explain the fact that she had only two dimensions?

But for now, she decided to wait and see what would happen next. Maybe one of her allies would do something to break the silence.

Angel landed with a thud that knocked the breath out of her. It was a while before she stood, feeling awkward and out of place. And it wasn’t just because she was in an old-fashioned looking place with some oddly dressed people staring at her. There was something off about her balance, and the ground was a lot closer than she remembered…

She realized two things in that moment. One, she was a cat. Two, she had wings. They lay folded against her body, twitching when she shrugged. She looked down at her paws, and then up at everyone near her, and then back at herself, craning her neck to see her body and the small tail that curled over her back. Abruptly sitting down, Angel realized that there were a lot of other strange characters next to her, looking equally out of context. They were just like her, in a way, but not really at the same time.

The kitten opened her mouth to speak, but a little Mew? came out instead. Ears flattening in annoyance, she tried again. This time she sounded distinctly more human.

"Well," Grey groaned, pushing himself out of the sand. "That was certainly different." He sniffed, then sneezed, the sudden influx of salty sea air irritating his senses. He hated the beach. Because it had sand in it. And he hates sand. Just thinking about it made him want to brush himself clean of the irritating soil matter. Especially when it was wet. It got into your ears, between your toes, in your fur, in... wait... fur? Different just became surreal. Really different. But cool. He had fur. And a tail. Cool. So this was his avatar, he stretched a bit, feeling the vast difference compared to his boring, but cute, old self. He remembered that freaky swirl of data, that weird portal. Maybe that isn't that important right now he thought to himself as he sneezed one more time.

The took the time to look around. And found Tsunade and a talking kitten amount those in the group. He tried not to be too shocked about that, considering his current form. Still, considering the situation, he was allowed a snarky comment of eight. "What happened was that we got flushed down the internet's drain and spewed out into a fishing village." He grinned a little. "I'm sure there is some irony in that story somewhere, if we look hard enough."

Starkiller landed on the soft, warm sand and his feet sank into the grains on impact. He stood, turning his head back and forth as he observed his surroundings. In that moment, it occurred to him he was wearing some kind of helmet. And were those lightsabers at his belt? He grinned behind his visor - finally, he was actually powerful, a Sith.

A few feet by stood other avatars, likely puzzled in this new environment. A furry, a winged cat and Tsunade from that show he had come to despise. What a crew. Starkiller stepped forward, casting his gaze to and from each of them. After a moment, his lightsaber shot from his belt into his hand and its bright, red beam shone with a sharp hiss.

"Um, easy fella!" Grey cautioned, his hands as the masked guy pulled a lightsaber from his belt and activated it for whatever reason. Seriously, that seemed like a major over reaction to the situation. Plus, the peasants were bound to think they were some sort of demonic spirits now. That was excactly what they needed right now; a witch hunt. He held up his hands wardingly between himself and the light saber. He never actually watched star wars, but he was sure the bad guys were the ones with the red swords. Thats what the commercials claimed, anyway. "So, will you be nice enough not to raise a sword to your new friends?"

Darkninja0200 landed on a hard surface almost directly on his tailbone but enough on it that it caused him some pain. His had shot toward it and rubbed his behind as he stood up. But there seemed to be something different he noticed right off the bat. His but felt different. It felt more toned and had more volume. He tried to look around at his butt but immediately noticed that he had on something grey. Looking down at his arm he noticed indeed that he was wearing a grey suit. Looking down at his body confirmed this. Something else he noticed. Definitely something that wasn't there before were breasts. He layed his hands on them and pressed down. He quickly looked down his shirt unbuttoning just enough to look down. The pain in his rump was forgotten now. He looked up and once more was confused "What the?" than he heard his voice "The fuck?"

He started to spin around getting a look at everything and getting looks from everyone that passed by. "What's going on here" She ran down the street a bit and into the middle of the road knocking down a rather raggedy looking man. He fell back but the man was none too thrilled as he got up and growled at her "Why dontcha watch where you are going ye dairty wench" He was given a kick as he walked over her. He grabbed his gut painfully as he sat up against the wall. This was enough to calm him down but he was still confused as to what happened. He fell into some sort of portal thing in his computer screen and was here in some piratey era.

Falling out of the portal of Cyberspace, I crash into the earth leaving a 5 yard trail behind me, "vi cotuir ornla tepoha coanwor d'nag..."*
I don't know why, but my voice sounded very deep and I thought about being a human... which was even stranger, because I am human...right? My entire body felt strange as I got up and I started to feel fine right before I examined myself. I seemed human enough, but the line of dirt in front of me suggested that I was something else when I crashed here... everything was becoming strange, for all I can remember was I was typing up a character sheet for some RP while doing my homework for IT Networking. I wasn't even halfway done with my homework when I clicked the 'Post Quick Reply' button and the monitor started to act up. I poked at it and my hand went through. The following was just like Persona 4, only it was the Internet, not some TV world that I was being sent to.

((What happened was that he fell from the portal in dragon form since that is what his 'avatar' was. After asking why no one warned them about this in dragonic, he subconsciously shifted back into a human. Also, the dirt trail is on perfectly normal grass and has done no actual damage.))

This was strange: I was expecting to find a gun or 'persona card' on me, but what I've found instead is that I am wearing something green, followed by a bright red, clawed glove on my right hand. I remembered typing up something close to this moments ago and I grab whatever hilt could be found near my left shoulder, expecting a staff. Sure enough, it was. The other bit of weight must be a sword then. I let out a deep sigh as I try to prevent myself from freaking out before putting the staff back in whatever holds it in place on my back.

When I got done looking at myself, it was pretty clear that this wasn't my body nor clothes and I didn't have a gun or card from Persona 3 or 4. When I decided to turn and look behind me, I see that I crashed near a town... pretty close to the sea judging by the small, along with some rather colorful looking people, "...Holy... are they the other 'RolePlayers' from the guild?!"
A rather big thing to say, but I did looked at the other character sheets before typing in my own. Little did we all know was that the RP we joined was a little more real then we would liked it to be.

I walked towards them and I quickly recognized Tsunade. I hadn't been watching Naruto all that much anymore, but I do remember that she is the fifth Hokage who can summon a giant slug creature, packs one hell of a punch and is a master of healing... jujitsu was it? Also in the group was other 'avatars', such as a normal looking human like myself, a furry, and a tiny little kitten with wings. Soon enough, the furry explains what happened to the puzzled people in old looking clothing around them, "What happened was that we got flushed down the internet's drain and spewed out into a fishing village."

I walked closer and examined the people around us; most of them were looking at me for some reason, "Sorry furry, but I don't think the internet was invented in this time period. I honestly don't care about history, but this seems to be the past judging by everyon-"
I hear the sound of a lightsaber turning on and I quickly grab my staff while turning to look at the guy wearing a helmet, "What the hell man?!"
A red lightsaber too?! This can't be good... no way my weapons can block it, I need some kind of actual protection...
The reason why I didn't get my sword was that the lightsaber would just cut right through it, but when I thought about the need for protection, the head of my staff glows white and a barrier surrounds me. It should be able to repel a few of his attacks, but we're still in bad shape, "Did I just... not important. Hey! put that saber away! The only reason to turn it on is to use it! ...Crap, I bet everyone is going to panic soon."
Not paying attention if they are panicking or not, I try to figure out what is up with this guy, "Hey, maybe I'm just being paranoid from everything that is happening right now, but how about you turn that off and help us figure out what's going on... okay?"
The wooden part of my staff was planted on the ground to my side as I talked to him. Eventually, I was able to remember that whoever this guy is used an avatar that represents a guy named 'Starkiller'. If so, I can only hope he doesn't instantly have his combat skill, otherwise, we're screwed if he does attack.

When he was 'vomited' out of cyber space, he landed with such a deep resounding thud that it Sent a wave of sand flying around him and at other avatars, and left a little crater around him. He ended up grumbling Irritably as he rolled over and shook himself off, "shit... that was a rough landing." He huffed deeply and slowly stood up, taking a deep breath, or tried, finding himself blinking when he found he lacked anything that would pull air in, then started looking around frantically for a moment. This was when he noticed his perspective, everyone around him was considerably below his eye level, and then he looked down, seeing that crater first, then the enormous amount of fluff.

His reaction next was probably not precisely what most people would've provided, as he suddenly leapt in the air with a loud "WHOOOO" for him in particular it was like a dream come true, no more mundane life to bore him senseless. This also taught him a little something about new strength this body had as it propelled him much higher into the air than he'd ever expected and came crashing back down in the crater, landing feet first and sinking almost knee deep in the sand "woah... i'm heavy, heheh." he quickly worked his way back to the top of the sand and finally took a moment to look at his 'companions', finding his attention immediately drawn to 'starkiller', which quickly woke up a cautious reaction. He knew the character, though he hadn't played the game much, he knew of the kinds of things he'd done in the game, and the kind of personality he had, whether or not it persisted in this person in that form or not was still to be found out.

He hadn't noticed the other people around them yet, though they most certainly thought he was some sort of monster, or at least he'd assume, but he took a few steps out of the crater and towards starkiller. "Hey now, We may not know each-other, But i would suggest we not start giving each other reasons to get violent. Besides, if 'your' here, i doubt your the only one with power." He accentuated this, making an assumption based on what he saw around him, if everyone became their avatar, then maybe he could, YES, one of his large claws began to produce a thick chilling mist about it, then the other wreathed in a writhing black and red aura. "Or we should at least avoid such things until we find out why we're all here... that and we should probably pick somewhere else to go, this doesn't look like a time period where people like us would be considered 'normal'."

Starkiller tossed his gaze back and forth between the new arrivals, sizing them up. It was more than obvious that his actions had instilled a shock, maybe even fear into the other avatars. The idea pleased him. The Sith turned around to face one of the avatars who spoke to him. He didn't understand it a bit - another furry hybrid but he sensed an artificial edge to the creature. A cyborg? Starkiller shook his head. Furries - he didn't understand the appeal at all.

"Don't threaten me, whatever the fuck you are," he snapped. "Not my problem if you freak out at the sight of a lightsaber."

Starkiller deactivated the weapon, but held it firmly in his hand, turning away from the quirky group. He didn't fancy the company if only because of the freakish avatars these fellows chose for themselves. The only one that didn't inspire some kind of disdain was the She-Hulk, and that was because he was a comic book fan.

"I don't suppose you know anything more about this than I do?"

The townspeople around the group were shocked when they saw the lightsaber. Many backed away, a few others stared at it, marveled at the device. One of them fainted. "What the.." one of the people stammered. "Who, or what, the hell are these.. monsters!"
Another one broke in. "What I wanna know is where in the hell they came from!"

Tsunade would have told Starkiller to put the lightsaber away, but a few of the other avatars already told him to do so anyway, and he did. There was no reason for them to cause any more panic than they already have. They just got here, and already they were off to a bad start. Then she saw a woman knock some random guy over, for no known reason. She recognized her as Jennifer Walters, the She Hulk. Because of that and other randomosity surrounding her, Tsunade smacked her head in a facepalm gesture. She felt a lump there, then retracted her hand. She touched the lump again, then remembered. She now had a small jewel in the middle of her forehead. She did not remember what its purpose was, if it even had one.

But Tsunade was not in the mood to fool around right now. There were more important things to do. As For one they needed to find the way out of here and back into their own world. And by doing that, they needed to... what did they need to do again? Tsunade guessed they needed to complete some sort of quest, or go through some kind of adventure, whatever Antarctic Termit had in mind for them.

She looked at the crowd and took a breath. "Look, everyone," she announced. "We mean you no harm. Do not be frightened by our appearances, we come in peace. All we need right now is.. directions. Now, who among you can tell us where we are? What manner of land have we found ourselves in?" No one answered. The people just looked at her. "Okay, then. In that case, can anyone tell us where the nearest tavern is?" Before the internet was invented, taverns were one of the best sources of information available. Surely the avatars could learn there more about what they were up against. The crowd hesitated. But after a silent moment, one man spoke up. "Th-there!" he stammered, pointing to the right. "Down that block. There's a sign, you can't miss it."

"Thanks," Tsunade replied. "Now, then. Everybody follow me. We need to first gather information." She began to trod off. Some of the townsfolk began to follow in tow, but Tsunade turned to them and stopped. "What are you doing?" One of those people just looked at her. "You.. said to follow you."
"No, not you!" Tsunade snapped. "I mean us. My people. Come on, there's a tavern down that way. We should get-"

Before she could finish, she was interrupted by the sound of an explosion. Then there were people screaming. "Hm?" Tsunade looked around. "What was that?" Then came another explosion. No, it was not an explosion. It was cannon fire. A crowd of screaming townspeople came forth, running from the docks. No, they were running from the ship at the docks. No, Tsunade realized. They were running from the people coming from the ship. Many of those people had raggedy appearances and wore bandanas, sashes, beards and boots. They carried swords and pistols, and using those weapons they knocked over crates at stands, robbed from the people and destroyed whatever came in their path. The town was being raided by pirates.

Tsunade was unsure of what to do at the moment. Should she help the town fend off the pirates, or just stay out of their way and let things be? Or should she join the pirates and explore more lands. Having your own ship was a good way of covering more ground. No, even better. She and the rest of the avatars could hijack the ship and take it for themselves. ..No, it could be too risky. She knew she was not invincible, and neither were her allies. This was not some cartoon, this was real. And dangerous.

She instead looked back to her group. She did not know what what to do. She did not know what orders to give them, or even if she was in any position to give orders at all. She figured she would let them decide. "Well?" she shrugged. "What do you guys think? Should we.. help the people? Join the pirates? Hijack their ship, or... or what?"
