OOC rules.
First, Characters will get boosts in their abilities, or new abilities, at set intervals or through the acquisition of items, but all of them will start of relatively even in terms of the amount of abilities and powers they have, I'll overview a character and judge whether it fits or not, but i'm a lenient guy so there shouldn't be many 'you're too powerful' tickets bein handed out.
Also, while i recommend making a new character for creativity's sake, You can use a pre-made one, you may have to re-balance some things for this RP, but it won't change who they are. I'm thinking about using some sort of regulation field theme, where everyone participating has their abilities modified, IC of course, to fit a certain level of balance, and overtime that limiter will rise and let them go more all out, or gain more power and abilities in the case of someone who wasn't weakened by it.
Second, everyone's character will be assigned a number, you can have multiple characters, and they will be randomly sent to a location in the city. Depending on how many people there are i may change the layout or path of the city from what's explained below, but we'll see. also if there's enough people, this will be split into multiple threads to reduce clutter from having 20 people in one thread. Co GMs may be assigned if there become too many for me to watch, but i'll keep an eye on all of them.
Also, i plan on having everyone vote on whether they'd like to go with the random matching, or be able to choose where they go. also if only a few people show, we can just choose where to end up =3 the rest will be npcs unless other people join in. OH YEAH, ATTENDANCE CAN BE JOINED AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO THE FINAL ROUND, unless we get like 50 people... but that's be a miracle in itself.
THIRD, this one is important, don't abandon your respective RP, if you have the chance, warn your opponent(s) and me that your goin to be away a while and we'll postpone, if you leave without warning and take more than 3 days, MAX, to post, you will be NPC'd and possibly knocked out of the fight. If you come back and we find out it was something out of your control, then it can be recanted and continue from before you left. HOWEVER, even if your really busy with school work, drugs, friends, or beating the crap out of the wall because you think it wants to eat you, you can find the time to take a couple of minutes, and type in something like "I won't be able to post for a while, Life is keeping me too busy to focus on it" Hell, copy paste that if you want to, but this RP won't be frozen in place just because you grew bored of it.
Fourth, and this is more of a suggestion that a rule. Typewith.me is a useful site that some friends in an RP i joined recently showed me, it allows multiple people to connect to the same page, by the host sending them links after opening the link himself, and allows them all to converse and edit the co op post in real time. If you use it, it's definately not required, but you 'can' send me the link to so i can observe the post, but again, this is not required XD
Fifth, CS rules, You do not have to fill out every detail of the CS, simple things like their name and what will be seen when someone first runs into them will be enough. You can even leave your powers section empty, BUT this is a lot of trust on my part, If it seems like your just adding more and more abilities to get out of every situation, you'll be called on it.
note: I personally prefer this method myself, being able to reveal things IC instead of in a CS It works so much better for me xD That also means i can tell when someone is abusing it.
IC RULES: These will be rules for the tournament IC. These of course 'can' be disobeyed =3 But they tend to bring some form of consequence.
First rule, No killing your opponent. While the teleporter system will attempt to prevent violations of this rule, but it's not flawless [simplified, If you don't want your character to die if you lose, then the teleporter, or some other comical event will happen in your favor to prevent death.]
Second rule, no leaving the city until the end of the tournament.
