Name: Eorlunde Dulriin
Race: Vampire, once human
Viewed as an abomination by normal society, Eorlunde sees himself as the next stage of the human race – superior to them in every single way. He was human, many a lifetime ago, but those years are nought but memories now, as Eorlunde is now a beast of the night. A walker of nightmares. He is not immortal, capable of dying through physical means (although far more resistant to such than an ordinary human), but age will not whither his body, nor will it be the death of him. If anything, age is a good thing for a vampire, as it allows them to learn far more than a human would be able to in their lifetime. During the day, he appears almost entirely human. There are few features which differentiate him from humanity, most of which can only be seen by the trained eye. Upon his turning, his skin became far paler than previously, his hair darkened into a shade of dark black, and his eyes became larger, the irises slowly turning into an incredibly dark black. Sunlight became difficult to deal with during the day, being very susceptible to sunburns and the noon sun almost blinding him. Despite the common misconception, sunlight will not cause Eorlunde to burst into flames or disintegrate him, but it is a huge inconvenience and can grow painful over time, and would certainly give the average human an advantage in a fight.
It's the night where Eor truly comes into his element. For a few hours, near the dead of night, his body undergoes a rapid transformation. This is when the thrill of the future hunt begins to kick in. A thick, black and grey fur begins to sprout from his body, along his back, face, limbs and chest, his figure becomes more muscular and he grows in height. Razor sharp claws tip his fingers and toes, the bones in his legs split and tear half way down the shins, giving him triple-jointed legs, perfect for jumping and climbing. Great sails of skin burst from his underarms, giving him bat-like wings. His head takes the most drastic change, forming into a huge bat's head, along with two huge ears, an elongated face and two, huge fangs. He becomes a bat-human hybrid. Transformation into this form provides him with superior strength, speed and agility, along with something of a blood lust far surpassing his previous need for blood, often tearing his victims to pieces when in this form. His body becomes more reliant on instinct than logic, but he simply allows this, knowing that he can rely on either to complete the task at hand. Obviously, in this form, few would dare to approach him, and those that do are usually here to slay him. Human contact is almost impossible in this state, although he is entirely happy without it in either form. Luckily too, as few know of this ability owned by only by a limited number of the vampire population, and those that see a vampire in this form often mistake them for werewolves in the dim light. His senses are improved in this state, such as hearing and sense of smell. His sight is severely limited, but he knows he does not need it. Lack of equipment (such as weaponry or armour) is one downside to this transformation, although his natural increase in physical abilities more than makes up for this.
Appearance: Pale skinned and dark haired, Eorlunde keeps two of the most common physical traits among vampires. He stands roughly six foot, with a thin although muscled figure, although the latter is mostly due to his less-than-human genetics rather than physical activity – not to say he hasn't trained himself over the years. Eor's hair is left at mid-length and combed well, keeping itself neat and well tended to, only changing upon his transformation. His face is sharp, full of pointed edges and pale tones, along with being well shaved. Beards have never suited him. Clothing-wise, Eorlunde prefers a mix of mobility, light protection and rich arrogance. His clothing consists of a layer of thin leather, primarily covering vital organs such as his chest, stomach and most important of all – his heart. Brown leather boots cover his feet, and leather gloves cover his hands, although this is the remainder of his armour. He sees little need for obstructions such as plate mail. Over such, thin pieces of fine cloth layer his body, shown in soft whites and royal purples, giving others the impression that he is far from poor. It is but one thing he does to feel superior to the average human.
Skills/magic: Eor lacks talent in magic, unless you consider his inhuman nature to be magical (few would, seeing it more as horrific). Although, that is not to say that he is defenceless, as he has had several human lifetimes to train himself in other skills. His is well versed in the art of unnarmed combat, capable of using his own natural strength and speed to subdue his foes should he be unable to find himself a weapon. His weapon of choice however is a combination of a single short-sword and a small war-axe, playing perfectly with his speed and agility, and has spent years training himself with the weaponry. While he is skilled with other branches of weaponry such as ranged weaponry, but has yet to truly put the effort into them over the years. That is not to say that he is incompetent with them though. Far from it. Agility is also something he excels in, which is invaluable for any vampire who wishes to avoid a stake in the heart. It also plays in perfectly with his two preferred forms of melee combat.
Equipment/weapons: Eorlunde does not name his weaponry, knowing that growing attached to physical objects is not a healthy habit. At some point he is bound to lose one, if not both of them, which he has done multiple times before. In fact, he has owned neither of his current weapons for more than two months, instead having scavenged them from others. Never the less, he carries two of varying design. The first is a rather brutish war-axe, forged from ornate steel, and lined with all kinds of delicate patterns. It was looted from a travelling caravan transporting, as expected, weapons. The axe was a strange addition to the selection of far more elegant weaponry, but this made it stand out. And the second features a black, metal handle, decorated with thin waves of gold, spiralling into various different patterns. The blade itself is made of solid silver, perfect for slaying all kinds of undead, along with the ever so common werewolves of course. As expected, it was recently picked up from a would-be monster hunter, and while it has no extra effect against ordinary humans, the blade is light and strong enough to be used as an effective weapon none the less.
And then there's his favourite weapon. Himself. Fighting in his bat form is certainly Eorlunde's favourite form of combat, allowing him to release his anger and fury in one fell swoop. Something about the pure animalistic nature of this form appeals to him. In this form, he is free to use claws, teeth, punches, kicks and (one of his personal favourites) gravity.
Other equipment: A few vials of blood he has harvested recently, although these are more of a light snack than anything to be used in combat. Still, they do help to numb any recent pain, and fuel his blood lust, working a little like a burst of adrenaline.
