I am interested in this, of course.
Oh yeah, also, I solemnly swear I am up to no good
Welcome to my game of Battle Royale! For those not familiar with it, this is based on an old novel where a bunch of people were taken to a remote island to fight to the death. The premise of this game is much the same. Here's how it will work:
I. Each player will have supplies! All players must eat, sleep and drink water over the course of the game or you will die (yay)! All supplies will be provided upon the characters' exit of the building. The bags will be numbered (1, 2, 3, etc) When you submit your CS, please PM me a number (1-42) to select a bag number. The supplies in the bags will be random. Weapon powers will be discussed later.
II. Accept your death. When you die, get over it! To kill a player, you must declare an attack ie: (Chigusa creeped up behind Niida and slashed her knife at him(hopefully in a bit more detail)) But don't declare that you actually killed or even hit the player, ie: (Chigusa ran up behind Niida and stabbed him in the back, killing Niida instantly) The other player must accept the attack. Upon being "attacked", your character has two options: Counter attack or dodge. Now, if someone runs up behind you, dodge may not be an option, but I will allow you to judge your own perception abilities. Be realistic.
III. If you die, you MAY participate with additional characters.
IV. You may choose your own start position
V. No superhuman powers, and no Matrix moves, and you can't see anyone out of your area square unless you manage to find or create a scope or something.
VI. You can receive weapons from dead bodies. If you chose to loot a weapon, you MUST leave your current weapon on the dead body. And try to be descriptive on ALL of your posts.
VII. Don't declare your own death. I'll take care of that.
VIII. Danger Zones are changed every three days, and you have two days to get out of that are or you will die. This is to eliminate inactivity
X.Time zones are a problem, so we will use CST.
XI. At the beginning of the game, you will receive a backpack with the following: A map of the island, food, water, starting weapon and a compass.
XII. Yes, you may team up with others if you meet them.
XIII. Team up at your own risk
XIV.You can't escape the island, although I encourage most anything you can convince the others to go along with. Be creative. Persuasion may help too. Some people may just try and kill you. See rule XIII.
XV. If there is more than one player left at the end of the two week limit, everyone dies!
XVI. To prove to me that you have read the rules put this at the bottom of all your CS: I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
When the game actually starts, everyone will be located within the school building at E14-E15. Each player is released one by one to the island, and also given his/her choice of one of several suitcases to take with them. Each suitcase contains a weapon of one kind or another, as well as an additional item.
On this island, you are mostly free to roam about, except that you cannot leave the island and you cannot return to the school after leaving. Other than that, you may do as you please to further your own goals, whether they be killing everyone else or finding a way to escape. Trying to escape, however, is ill-advised because everyone has a collar around their necks that is used to track them. Should you leave the island while the collar is active, it will explode. Any attempts to remove the collar will result in the same. The winner (and there can only be one unless you are damn good) will have their collar deactivated and be taken back to their home.
Now, moving on to the actions you can do during your turn. To put it simply, your imagination is your limit, for the most part. There are a few restrictions on movement, however:
You can only move, at most, squares in one turn. However, at the dense forest and the mountain areas, that number is cut to 2.
You can move diagonally.
Movement is currently the only action that has restrictions on it. You can perform any action you think of if you specify it in your post and it is possible to do. You must specify, however. If you wish to search buildings or other things, PM me and we will work it out. I can't allow you to magically find a flamethrower sitting in the back of a truck. For example, if you want to PM me saying that you 'wish to look in that bush over there', and the host responds with 'You found a Flamethrower (you won't find a flamethrower.', your next PM will have to specify that you want to pick up the gun if you wish to take it with you. Otherwise, it will be left behind. And on the subject of items, you may only carry three items with you at a time. For something like a gun that has ammo, the gun and the ammo count as one item.
Another action worth discussing is combat. How combat works depends on what sort of weapon you have. Weapons will be divided into three categories: ranged weapons, melee weapons, and special weapons.
Ranged weapons can be used on a target in a distance, and their particular range as well as damage is specified when you receive the weapon at the school by a note in the suitcase. Ranged weapons found elsewhere may not have such information with them, which means you must experiment to find out. Ranged weapons include any sort of weapon that fires a projectile at a distant target, such as guns and bows. While ranged weapons differ in range and damage, they all share the common feature that the need to be prior to firing if your target is more than one square away. You cannot aim and fire in the same turn if the person is not in the same square as you.
Melee weapons, also have range limits (in almost all case, one square) and damage amounts that are specified via note, but to make up for their lower range as compared to the ranged weapons, they do not need to be aimed. They also do not require ammo. Melee weapons include most weapons that don't fall into the ranged weapon category, such as clubs, swords, and your own fists.
Special weapons are simply weapons that don't fit into either of the other categories, such as explosives or traps. The relevant information will be mentioned via the note they come with.
The lethality of a weapon is given in the form of a number that indicates how much damage a weapon deals. Each character will start out with... 15 HP. (let me know if you think that works).
One final action worth talking about is gathering sustenance. Players can die of hunger or thirst in this game. Everyone starts off with 10/10 Food and 5/5 Water. Those are not items to be consumed, those are indications that you are both completely full and well hydrated. At the beginning of each turn, you will lose one Food and one Water. If you have 0 of either at the beginning of a turn, you die. Be sure to keep yourself nourished, because a game of everyone dying of hunger and thirst is a dull one.
That covers almost everything that will be needed to play this game. There is only one final thing that needs mentioning, and that is that everything mentioned above should be taken with a grain of salt. It should be assumed that there is the possibility of an exception to almost any of the rules. Because of this and the fact that your actions are completely free-form, you should be careful about making assumptions about your situation.
You may create more than one character. One of your characters may kill another character, but characters can't commit suicide unless you can REALLY make my heart bleed for them. Worth a try though.
Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.
I am interested in this, of course.

Awesome. Maybe we can get some interest for this.

Awesome. You can go ahead and throw out some characters if you would like. 14-15 year olds. Also, If anyone has questions about the rules or problems or suggestions please let be know. Tell your friends to join.
Awesome, we need to get some more people interested in this!
this sounds awesome, im totally in. though of course i have a few questions. what are the peramiters for characters, (age, races, natural abilities, skills etc) and whats the go with movement, you said only a few squares or something, how is it supposed to be determined? is there a map of the island, as in an actual drawn up map? but yes im in, this sounds awesome.
i solemnly swear im up to no good.
Yeah, I have a map and everything. The reason it has yet to be posted is that this is actually a RP that I attempted under another account and since the search feature is not working at the moment, I have to go page by page to find all the related information.
I will work to retrieve everything that goes with this RP.
Thanks for your interest.
Ok. Here are some answers to your questions:

As far as characters go, I am not one to specifically outline how you build your character. I encourage people to do character development in character, which is why I am so loose on outlines. I only ask that they be age 14-~16. They are normal teenagers, so they most likely have no special training, but if they do, be sure to provide sufficient backstory. I am also assigning random weapons AFTER characters have been submitted to try to curb people building characters around the weapons they receive.. this is a very rare situation the characters find themselves in.
Also, feel free to do multiple characters, but know your own limit, this is Advanced.

Here are the possible weapons:
Weapons List
Again, I have totally randomized them, so remember to give me a number for each character you create. I think each person should have AT LEAST two characters, but no more than five. Everything is up for discussion, so please pitch me ideas about how you think we can run this best. I'd like to start soon.
Here is a character sheet template, if you care to do the subheading thing.
Name: Character's Name
Gender: Male or Female.
Birthplace: Character's Birthplace
Birthdate: Character's Birthdate
Weight: Character's Weight.
Height: Character's Height.
Blood Type: Character's Blood Type
Appearance: A picture or worded text description is fine.
Personality and History: Your character's personality. Do your best to flesh this section out. Stick their history here, too.
Hobbies: Any hobbies your character has.
Likes and Dislikes: Character's likes and dislikes.
Fighting Advantages: Character's fighting style, also list if your character is more offensive, defensive, or has no training what so ever. Please list any special skills or talents (ie intimidation, firearms, repair, melee, medicine) Provide a reason you know these as well.

this is fucking amazing man, so much thought put it in, it's awesome. im cool with everything. and since ill probably only have this character for this rp is it fine if i just put it in my first post? and also how does posting work with this rp, as im new to forum rping but not rping
Ok, the way PbP works is I will post another thread called Out of Character. That is where I would like the characters to be posted. That is also the thread where any questions will be resolved that have to do with the story. After we settle who all is in, this Interest Check will no longer be used. We will use the Out of Character thread and the In Character thread only.
And thank you for liking what I have done.
BTW, this is set in modern day Japan, but your characters do not necessarily have to be Japanese, as long as your back story provides a reason for them being enrolled in a Japanese school.
