Sakura saw the forest come close to them as they stopped. She didn't know why they stopped. It was beautiful down there and she wanted to go explore. All she could see was beautiful trees , cherry trees too. She looked over at Hikitsu who had a sad look on his face. She knew he was sad because he felt like he could not go in there. She realized he was probably worried he would not be able to control himself. It was true , it was better for him to normally stay out of the woods. It was best for him not to set fire to the forest, but with her by his side it was impossible.

Yes , she thought , it would be perfect. She could put out the fire just as it started if a fire started. She wouldn't be hurt and if she were right beside him she could stop the fire before it did any damage at all. It was the perfect solution. She looked over at him with a huge smile on her face. She didn't want to tell him yet though , she wanted him to guess a little while. " Oh it's so beautiful down there ! " She said with a look on her face , like as if she were telling him they should go down there.


She held his hand for a minute just taking in the scenery. She wanted it to be a surprise for him. She wanted him to believe she was just holding his hand for the sake of holding his hand.For a while she enjoyed it , she didn't want to ever let go. She looked at him for a second and then just started running down the hill. She didn't let go of his hand for a second , not letting him escape. Once down the hill , the were just at the edge of the forest. She walked slowly with him , letting it be a silent moment. It was magical , one second they were outside and then they were inside a whole new world. A world called the forest. " Don't worry , I won't let anything bad happen" Sakura said with a smile to relax him. She She stared into the forest with loving eyes. She was home.

"It is beautiful," Hikitsu agreed, nodding his head. "If you want, you can go there and I'll wait he--" But then he was already running down the hill, her hand in his. Caught by surprise, Hikitsu didn't have the chance to even disagree before they entered the woods. He gulped, feeling himself tense up.

"..yeah," he murmured in reply to Sakura's words, though it was clear he was uncertain. He trusted her though - if she was sure she wanted to enter the forest, he'd enter with her. Holding her hand tight, he walked onwards, trying to look around and enjoy the sights, at the same time making sure to control his power.

Sakura looked at him. She didn't know which was more stunning , the forest or him. He was so handsome. She loved his fur. She put her hand in his when she realized why he was such a great influence to her. She realized why he could make her feel emotions she never felt before. She knew that moment. She knew why. She looked him in the eyes and both their eyes sparkled in the sun light. She could see the good inside of Hikitsu. She could see everything that she wanted from him. She loved him.

She took both his hands and held them tight. She wanted to tell him but couldn't , it was just so embarrassing. She hoped he felt the same , but she didn't know. She didn't know for sure what he felt about her. What could she do ? She wanted him to love her. She moved her body towards his to hug him. Her arms were around his body and just before her head was going to go over his shoulder it moved. Her head moved towards his. She didn't know at the time what she was doing , but she knew she wanted it. Their noses were about to touch when she leaned her head to the left. their lips locked onto each other and she was kissing him.

Sakura backed away quickly and didn't know what to do.Her cheeks were red from blushing. She put her arms behind her back in an awkward manner " I'm - I'm sorry" Was all she could say.Her Lips were still buzzing from the kiss. She definitely enjoyed it.

When she neared him, Hikitsu wasn't sure what to do. He considered backing away, but decided against it and remained in his place. But when she kissed him gently, the fire lord was completely blown. Mind blank of thoughts, all he could do was stand there motionlessly, feeling the softness of her lips against his own. It was just so... sudden. Sudden, but at the same time, he found himself enjoying every second of it.

That feeling was quickly dispersed, however, when she stepped away from him, and the spirit defaulted to shock, meeting her bright eyes with his visible one. He was confused, surprised, happy and scared all at the same time, and it began to be too much to handle. Feeling his emotions spiral around, the fox blinked, stepping away from her and attempting to clear his mind. He couldn't control it anymore - the surge of so many emotions at once made him snap.

It all happened just a few seconds, if not less; he suddenly felt a burning sensation in his chest, and before he knew it, his vision went red. He couldn't see anything, save for a thousand flames burning around him. He couldn't hear anything other than the sound of grass and tree branches being eaten alive by the fire. He didn't know what was going on, where he was, nothing - all he knew was he felt warmth all around him, and the fire ball surrounding him felt oddly comforting, shielding him from the outside world and his burst of emotions. Hikitsu was lost in a trance, as if in a coma, too peaceful on the inside to control his powers and realize what was going on.

Sakura watched as Hikitsu turned into a ball of burning flames. She was horrified but in a way she knew why it happened. She caused this and she had to stop it. The fire was becoming huge , much larger than she ever expected. He was a fire spirit , but she didn't know how powerful he was. It was so large , she wasn't sure even if she could handle it. A whole forest of cherry trees would be lost if she didn't try though so she had to try and stop the fire.

After a few seconds of watching the fire , she dispersed immediately into her pink mist , but this time she spread out into the wind , becoming much larger than her usual self. This took all the power she had within herself to spread out wide enough , thin enough to catch all of the fire where it was. Once she was surrounding all the fire , all the trees that were burning she stopped a second. She started closing in around it and the fire started to lower itself. It took all her powers , all her spirit abilities to stop this fire. She couldn't believe how stupid she was for thinking she could stop such a fire. Luckily enough for the cherry tree spirit she managed to stop it where it was.

She had stopped the fire and calmed down the fire within the boy when she turned back into her human form. She fell onto the ground , exhausted.She was beyond any magical abilities , if the boy would continue with his fire ,she wouldn't be able to help. She knew however he wouldn't , because her mist calmed him down enough that he wouldn't do that for a few hours. She couldn't move. She was so tired. She couldn't even speak.

Sakura only hoped the boy would be smart enough to get the two of them back up the hill before he started another fire. If he kept them both there for over an hour then maybe his flames would start to burn again. She wouldn't be able to help him then.

Soon, it was over. As Hikitsu was becoming more conscious, the fire around him was turning less comforting and more terrifying. Suddenly he was aware of what was going on and how helpless he was against it, so all he could do, was float there in the air and observe the fire decrease right before his eyes. He didn't know how it was happening, he just knew it was. Eventually, when the fire was nearly gone, his body slowly sunk down to the ground and he struggled for a moment to keep his balance. And then, everything was as silent and calm as ever.

Except there now was a motionless body at his feet. He quickly realized what happened - Sakura had saved him yet again, and the forest too. Feeling guilt and shame, he knelt down next to her, placing a hand on her arm. "Sakura?" Hikitsu partly knew he probably wouldn't get a reply. Looking around himself frankly, he was glad to see the forest suffered only a minimal damage. At least he wasn't at the threat of trees falling over on them. Turning back to the girl, he gently picked her up bridal style. "Hold on."

One advantage of being a fire spirit was speed. Just like the burning flames would rapidly spread through an area in seconds, so Hikitsu could sprint at nearly impossible speeds. He rarely ever used this ability, since it didn't come to much use of him in humanoid form, and in his Fox form he could fly, but for the first time, he was grateful for it. Once he got out of the forest, he began running fast as he could, and in just a few seconds, he felt as if he was faster than the wind rushing past him. The Fox spirit supposed there only really was one place he could take her - the bathhouse.

Sakura awoke in the bathhouse. She wondered how she got there. She was almost certain she was going to die. When she had stopped the fire she felt so , powerless. She realized what happened , Hikitsu must have saved her. She thought maybe he saved her or this was her dream ? Could this just be a dream ? Could the kiss have just been a dream , like the dream of the burning forest she had earlier ?She could only hope it was all real , but she wasn't sure.

She had an immense burning pain on her whole body. Did this mean it was real ? She felt burnt because she had stopped his fire ? Couldn't she stop fire without getting burnt ? It was all a blur to her. It felt like a dream that was only two seconds away from being understood. She had a huge headache as well. It was as though she had been sleeping for days. Was she though ? Was she sleeping for days or did it only feel that way ?

She sat up and looked at Hikitsu who was watching over her. "H-how did I get here ?" She asked him astonished. She was clearly out of it. She looked around and saw she was in her room. She hoped that it was not a dream , that she had really kissed him , but there was no way of being sure until he told her. Why else would he be watching over her though ? The only reasonable explanation was that it happened. Maybe this was a dream too , that Hikitsu was watching over her ? Her head was full of so many questions that she just couldn't ask all at once.
